Having some kind of virtual lobby and waiting for games doesnt add anything substantial to the game, its just bad game design.

Its 2k's flawed method of trying to replicate the free-roam social aspect that MMOs have.

We don't even really interact with other players in the park so it kind of a waste.

What's the point of the got next spots if a squad can come in a que up even though us and 2 other guys have been waiting for 20 minutes?
Yes. That is exactly what will happen. Ronnie2k and LD2k said it's which ever side gets filled up first. So this will happen.

40 people playing and 20 people waiting.

Having to wait an hour just to play a game is too long. Most of the problem when 2k15 release is gonna be with the Rec Center. Most people would would rather have matchmaking, me included.

But when it comes to MyPark and playing at the 3 outside courts then it not really a problem. A 8-12 minute wait is not that bad. Just hope none of the problem with you being kicked off your spot is not there.
IMO, the ideal solution would be to have a general queue AND a court-specific queue. If you are interested in getting into a game quickly and you don't care which game, hit the general queue and let it match your squad or your player with the next appropriate game. If you really want to lay the smackdown on your friend's squad or some cheesing squad from Oldtown, you can queue to play them specifically.

Make it so that specific queues require a squad to join since individual queues are going to land with random teammates anyway.

A random queue also solves the issues of ragequits and mid-game lagouts that often broke the courts in Park last year. Someone DC's for whatever reason and the next person in the queue gets put in the game.

Were still gonna have to wait to play a game in your Queue idea. I think it better if 2k either increase the number of courts on MyPark, or bring back locker room/ solo search.

The locker room/ solo search idea would be the best one to fix the problem people have with MyPark. They could also update it to allow us to choose where we want to play, what court, and whether we want to play against random or squads. It worked well for Blacktop.

Re: The Real Problem with "Got Next"

The only reason I think they put 'got next' in the game is so it wouldn't be so taxing on 2k's servers. Expecting people to run around and then wait to play a game is a very poor design choice.

I don't know how anyone can stand 'got next'. I even saw LD2K have a twitch stream trying to play the park with other people for about 10 min and he couldn't even get a game in so he just quit.

In this day and age there is no excuse why there shouldn't be a good match making system so people can play immediately. I can't even imagine how long the wait will be for the Jordan Rec Center with four quarters and nba rules.

Man this thing is absolutely awful. I just spent an hour trying to play with a friend in the park and couldn't play once. I don't see why they couldn't just put a matchmaking system in the game.

Re: The Real Problem with "Got Next"

I was trying to play with a friend. First go ahead 2k put him in a park that I wasn't in, so we had to back out and retry. Then we couldn't even get into the park/myplayer because the servers were down.

When we finally got into the park we were waiting for a game to finish, and once finished the game just sat there with all 3 of us on the "Got Next" spot. We sat there for 10 minutes waiting for the game to start...never did.

Everytime I go into the park, 75% of the courts are glitched and people just standing there waiting to play.

At least you have people standing there. I've seen two other players in MyPark. It's a ghost town for me.

Man I'm sitting here in the Jordan court wondering how they thought this would be a good idea to have to watch a full game before you could play. No other game makes you sit there and watch before you play. Imagine having to watch a whole game of Halo before you actually got to play. Please add match-making next year.

Matchmaking definetly needs to return if they want to create a good online experience. "Got Next" and making people wait to play a game needs to go, its horrible.

I think the whole got next and running around stuff is so unnecessary. I'd be much happier if it was all queue based like a quick game. Just lobby all this stuff like COD. You'll meet people in games and make friends for rec center.

I don't need to run around in a park. I play 2K to do stuff I can't do in real life like playing at a professional level of ball against other people. Running around in a park looking for a pickup game is something I don't need a video game for.
