Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread

I'm Indiana and am doing pretty well considering PG-13's injury. I'm sitting at 4th in the East around Mid-December.

I originally thought that this season would be a straight up tank season, but the rest of the East outside of Chicago, Cleveland and Miami has been disappointing. I don't plan on making any trades for another month or so mainly to see if teams like Washington or Toronto start to make a push. However, if I'm still in the 4th or 5th seed around February I'm contemplating making a move.

In a perfect world I would love to have someone like Rondo or Dragic, both who guys have been rumored to be on the move, but I don't know if I have the assets to acquire either of them. Maybe a more realistic deal would be something like Hibbert, (?) to Portland for Wesley Matthews (who wants to test Free Agency) and Robin Lopez?

I'm not necessarily sold on trading Hibbert or West, however both of them have huge player options next season. Again, if it were a perfect world I would love to keep both of them, but I know if both guys choose to keep their options, then I won't be able to make any kind of significant moves in Free Agency. I'm kind of torn on what to do, but at least I have a little while to figure it out.

I don't know if it is truly an option but maybe Boston wouldn't be opposed to taking Hibbert for Rondo as well as some picks from you. They lack a true rim protector and they have Smart lurking in the background.

      Just a thought.

As a fair weather fan from Boston, I have to agree with you on this. The Celts know that Rondo wants the Max and as you said lack a real rim protector. If I were making a trade including Rondo and Hibbert, I would also probably throw in Olynyk for an extra 1st just because I feel like he is not who he is hyped to be.

Thank you! I know some Celts fans who are in love with him. Me on the other hand, not so much. He's a power forward in my eyes and don't get me started on Zeller. I love Rondo but if he is leaving, this is a return that Id be okay with.

As a Boston fan myself I love Rondo and as much as I would like to keep him, I think that moving on and getting assets from him would be the quickest way to rebuild.

I remember this past summer there was rumors of a three team trade that involved Dragic to Indiana, Rondo to Phoenix and they never did say what Boston would get in return. I was hoping for Hibbert and Lance (this is before he signed with Charlotte). Obviously, there would have been more players involved and it never came to fruition, but there was some talk of it.

Is Tommy Heinson (sp?) one of them because he was comparing Olynyk to Dirk. And I haven't really followed Zeller at all so I don't know much about him. Except for the fact that he has a brother in the league that was a lottery pick.

This thread is great, you guys's knowledge on the various teams and your trade logic is awesome, Im going to start a new MyLeague and when I do Ill come back with some trades.

So far in Minnie I ended up trading Brewer for Carter and a second rounder, and Mo Williamd and Budinger for Pat Beverly, those two are my favourite backcourt guys in the league pretty much.

Then I went ahead and screwed up things royally by taking LA away from Portland for Rubio and someone else, but ever since I hate that move, Its unrealistic and it messed up the whole western conference.....

Not Tommy off the top of my head. I don't get to listen to him much in Atlanta. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Olynyk just don't like him as a C or think he's that good.

                  Zeller is just soft.

Makes some sense then because I listen to a Boston radio show and they keep saying that Tommy is comparing him to Dirk. Didn't watch any games last year because I am fair weather fan. I think this season I may only watch like 3 games, the Twolves, Cavs, and Bucks. Twolves and Bucks just to see if Wiggins and Parker are the studs that EVERYONE claims them to be. And the Cavs because I want to see how much this team CAN'T gel like that 11 Heat that lost to the Mavs in the Finals.

MyGM Raptors - I traded T. Ross for N. Stauskas

I had to use a convince it's fair badge to get it done evan though Nik was lower rated.

I did the trade because I would love for there to be a talented Canadian on the raptors and even though I love Ross, we still have high flying dunks with Derozan and I actually think Nik will develope into having a very good career that exceeds Ross'

I would be happy if that trade was made in real life, but wouldn't move Ross otherwise.

Seeing Nik dunk on us in the preseason was cool, he had a good game a couple weeks ago dropping 15 or something like that with a 3 and that jam. Which by the way reminds me that his dunk rating in 2k15 is WAY too low at 30? if you look at youtube highlights he dunks well and in traffic sometimes too and does it in actual games which to me should affect the rating.

Sort of outside the scope of the thread, I really like Olynyk but comparing him to Dirk is just crazy. He's more like Bargnani with more effort directed to rebounding and defense. The rebounding is excellent (considerably better than Hibbert and on par with Sullinger for example). The defense? Well, he's trying. He's pretty solid as a mobile big on the perimeter defending the pick & roll, much better than Sullinger. He'll never be an elite rim protector and I have my doubts as an individual post defender also. I really like his passing and ballhandling skills as well, I think it's something that will add quite a bit of value to his game longterm.

With regards to free agent signings, has anybody had success with CPU signings? In a previous league I started day one, the CPU had signed several players out of the free agency. Since that first league I haven't had any CPU signings and players like Ray Allen are still unsigned halfway through one season.

Do you still have Rondo? Because if so you can trade him for Hibbert who is a perfect fit for this team.
