Re: NBA 2K15 Trade Discussion Thread

Looking to better my Knicks in GM mode.....

Looking to get Reggie Jackson to be my point guard for years to come. I have a trade I'm looking at with the Thunder

    Knicks Get - Jackson, Perkins

    Thunder Get - J.R. Smith or Hardaway or Shumpert, Prigioni, 17 1st, 18 2nd

Have to get rid of a shooting guard but I'm looking for realism... Any and all thoughts welcomed

That's a hefty load for sure, can't imagine that you need to give up a solid asset like Hardaway (Go Blue!) AND two draft picks. I like the idea of Jackson in the Big Apple though! It's a very nice trade already, but I think, realistically, if you're okay with taking Kendrick Perkins off the Thunder payroll, then that should be good enough.

I don't see J.R. Smith in OKC. He only belongs on a team with a ton of dismay and controversy.

      Jackson + Perkins
      For
      Hardaway + Shane Larkin + 2nd rounder.

See if the Thunder take that one! Good trade for both sides and good luck getting NY back on top. Do whatever it takes to keep that 1st rounder. Trading picks is what got NY in trouble in the first place!

Keep the posts coming! I don't know if anyone reads the responses to their questions, but being bored at work and being able to not only give advice but also nerd out and get my NBA brain pumping is a good way to pass the time, lol.

Man thanks for the feed back... Do you think of any deal where i can keep Hardaway ( Even if i have to make another deal before I make the trade with the Thunder) i.e.: Trading J.R. Smith in a deal before this one ????? I can see him on the Pistons or the Bucks ????

        Knicks Get - O.J. Mayo

        Bucks Get - J.R. Smith

        or

Knicks Get - Caron Butler or Jodie Meeks

        Pistons Get - J.R. Smith

If you think about it, most of the leagues best young 2-guards already play beside a great PG, (Derozan, Beal, K. Thompson, Lance Stephenson), so it wouldn't make much sense for then to acquire another star PG, especially one that cannot play 2-guard at all.

If you deal Rondo, you're likely looking at a return that isn't going to be an immediate payoff, and you're likely going to get 75 cents on the dollar at best. New York, Sacramento, Dallas, and Indiana are all places I think could be interesting fits for Rajon. Sac town is the most interesting among those, if you could somehow swing a couple of their young guys, along with a 1st rounder, you may be in business.

          I'm not at my console to see if this would work, but something like;

Rajon Rondo + Brandon Bass + 2nd rounder
          For
Nik Stauskas + Derrick Williams + 1st rounder

This way you're gaining two young, solid players as well as a 1st round pick that will likely be high. You're losing two guys that are getting up there in age, but have no future in Boston now that they're rebuilding.

Just a thought, main thing whenever you're rebuilding, it's more satisfying when you're patient and realistic with it, so don't go crazy and try to win a title in year 2 or anything.

          Thanks man!

That's also not a bad idea! As Hardaway is your only real significant prospect at the moment, it would be tough to pull this off without him. However, if you pulled off that Jodie Meeks deal, (which isn't impossible, but I don't think SVG would do considering he just signed Meeks.) then you could couple him with Shumpert and Larkin!

I would suggest looking for another trade, because if OKC is taking in another off-shore player, they wouldn't really want ANOTHER shooting guard considering they'll be taking Shumpert and already have Lamb and Roberson, both who play significant minutes. Since they're losing Perkins, I would try to pick up a Center in that 2nd trade to send to OKC with Larkin, Shumpert and a 2nd rounder.

Lots of different options here, but like I said, do whatever you can to hang on to that 1st round pick and don't lose ALL your assets. Free Agency will be big after clearing Bargnani, Stoudamire and potentially Perkins. A big 3 of Carmelo, Reggie Jackson and Anthony Davis would be killer!

So the Lakers offered me Boozer for GWallace and Bass. I am the Celtics. The trade makes sense for both. Boozer is only playing 16 mins on average this season with 7/4 while Bass has been 8/4 in 23 mins for me. Bass will be a FA at seasons end while Boozer has 2 years and around 23 mil. Wallace is a throw in to even salary and prove some veteran leadership to LA and Kobe likes him I think. They have been playing Randle/Hill/Davis heavy mins so not a lot for Boozer. Boozer would come off the bench but be a big part in my 2nd unit with Smart and Turner, thus would play more for me especially if an injury happened. Thoughts? I think it's good but if not how could I make it work or could I get more back?

Any realistic trade ideas to get Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez out of Brooklyn? (I'm doing a Nets myGM and definitely want to trade Williams and Johnson.)

There is a rumour that a possible trade could happen in the real NBA between nets and pistons. Josh Smith for Joe Johnson. So if you want to pull that trade give it a go.

I might do that trade somewhere before the deadline, because it's rumored that the Nets are seeking "quality" players in return so they can stay in "playoff-hopeful" mode. What about Williams/Lopez?

Is that realistic though? Johnson, Williams, Lopez, rookie Markel Brown and rookie Cory Jefferson to bitter rival/division rival NY Knicks for Amar'e Stoudemire, Andrea Bargnani, Jose Calderon, JR Smith, Samuel Dalembert, Iman Shumpert and Tim Hardaway Jr?

That is a huge trade. I don't like that trade for either side, as it keeps two teams that are in limbo, in limbo. If I had to pick a winner it would be Brooklyn, because at this point you're just trading massive contracts and Brooklyn's contracts are worse.

What if I gave them a 1st rounder which is likely low-mid. It would be a 1st and Bass's expiring contract for Boozer who isn't playing. They would take on Gwall as compensation.

IRL the Lakers are trying to keep cap space available for the next two free agency periods. And if they ever would do that trade the pick would need to be somewhere in the top 5.
