i just end up with players like JJ Hickson doing this
Players like Javele Mcgee doing this
Monta Ellis doing this
Want to stop CPU from driving?....well too bad....notice the screen shots....nate robinson goes from a dead stop inside the free throw to line to just knocking over my player for two points....every time CPU does a spin move my players seem to fall down as well
quite simply put, there are no amount of tips that can keep some of these shots from going inLast edited by manu1433; 10-10-2014, 04:47 PM.Comment

Re: Defensive Help, Tips
I still get great Help from one of my bigs or both if there in a 3 out 2 in, if its 4 out 1 in, then only one can help which makes it critical to not allow penetration too often.
When i play with the celtics even when i put in on protect the paint, my bigs never help fast enough so i have to switch to them to help, i seem to get help from Bradly or Rondo tho so i keep it on protect the paint.
As far as your P.O.E changing when you have it on manual. im not sure my never does that, On the main menu I went to options and features and changed all my settings to how i want them and it never went back.Comment

Re: Defensive Help, Tips
Sounds to me this a result of bad coding. The range of effectiveness isn't broad enough. It reminds me of EA Sports games and their ratings. Where as if a rating is below a certain number, the AI for that player just becomes totally dumb, but on the flip side, if you raise the number of a particular rating to like the high 90s, the AI of that player becomes god like.
So 2K simply needs to broaden the range of effectiveness. This is the NBA after all, everybody should at least ATTEMPT to rotate over on help defense, even the sorriest of defensive players. I don't care if it comes late, at least ATTEMPT to. My experiences have been is that they don't even attempt to. They just stand there flat footed, not paying attention to who have the ball or where the ball is even at.
What is funny though, the CPU team have no problem at all. It is the USER team teammates AI that are dumb on defense and when it comes to rebounding.Comment

I'm not being flip in saying this, but I would really like to see a full 12 minute quarter of one of gameplay development team guys playing the game on default SS/Sim and commenting at the same time so that they could give of us who are struggling on D, some in-game tips and insight on how to ameliorate the issues we're seeing.
Reading about people having success is one thing, but it would be great to see it.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Defensive Help, Tips
I think def is really really solid this year. You cant just bulldoze into the paint with players when your inside def is good.
I just played someone online who was just tryin to bulldoze with westbrook and Durant and it went bad for him.
I ice'd all the ball handlers and forced them baseline since its much easier on help def if they go baseline since my wing and inside can help if needed without much penalty.
P.O.E was Limit Perimeter Shots, and set all bigs to GAP on off ball.Comment

So setting defensive settings to force baseline is better then force middle.Comment

I never force to the middle, it seems to make players who are mediocre look good and good players great.Comment

Re: Defensive Help, Tips
I don't want to sound like a Debbie downer but it's not just defense. It's also breaking through screens and getting to your position spot. It's really hard because there's too much traffic in the game. Honestly, the game must be played on good sliders in order to achieve balance. I just can't seem to move around without getting bumped out of position. IDK, maybe slower speed? What do you guys have speed set to?Comment
