This is hyperbole. You may expect to have the exact same experience online as you do offline. That's naive. There a MANY people have not had the nightmarish issues with lag and mismatching as you have. So, to me, the "servers" (and OVER used and nebulous term used whenever ANYTHING goes wrong in an online game) have not been "broken" as much you are implying. Maybe they are for YOU. Once they fix these issues with not being able to start Park games, I'll be set. I don't know about you. And I don't mean to belittle your history of issues. But that's how I see it. I've online been disconnected a handful of times over the years of playing the game. But I have a pretty good connection and a clean internal home network. Not everyone has that.

Re: IGN Review (7.8)
I said all of the people with that particular stance that the game should be reviewed rather severely dude to the online issues at launch. The quotes you included only mentioned that IGN COULD re-review the game, but I've rarely seen IGN do this. And I have not seen those rare cases be reflected in the metacritic score. But your point is taken.
Here is my take: EVERY harsh criticism of the game needs to be vocalized and expressed. Outside of the Park, I've just been about quick games and MyGM. So, these issues have yet to affect me. I haven't tried to get into the Park. Why? Because I KNOW, based on history of this and EVERY OTHER GAME, that there will always be some launch week online issues. Especially from a title and company that just REFUSE to do betas! So I'm not as irate as others here and that's all that's coming through in the posts.
HOWEVER, as a "professional reviewer", I feel that the reviews should reflected the TOTAL package and what the game is trying to deliver AS A GAME. I'm all for docking for major issues. Maybe that's all this is. Maybe these issues cost them a point. 8.8 is a good score. But for issues that will persistent for around a week, when you're talking about a game that has replay value into the 6-8 months, somethings wrong with that score. Once these issues are fixed and players can start a Park game (I still don't know if it's working yet) without waiting 10 friggin' minutes - then this is where the game should be judged. I say this because this has been the model for year. FEW games get dinged for launch blues save for SimCity in one case - and I disagreed with that as well, but I understood the outrage.
So, I'll ask again - for those that feel the game should be a dinged harshly for these launch issues - do you think IGN is OBLIGATED to re-review the game once these issues are ironed out?Comment

Re: IGN Review (7.8)
IGN editors like reviewing games that involve elves and magic, oh and of course gta. I never listen to them when it comes to sports games.. Let's be honest, I didn't see one trailer or article hyping 2k15, madden, or even nhl. I doubt Greg Miller has even touched a basketball.. Maybe Alfredo but that's about it.
Maybe im not being fair and assuming, but if you want an overall review of the game, always check metacritic. It's the accumulated average review score from all major gaming sites.
http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/nba-2k15
2k15 scores 87 out of 100 on PS4 (not one reviewer has gotten it on Xbox one so far but I'm pretty sure it's the same game). So IGN's 7.8 is about an entire point off from everyone else's average. Not that 7.8 (I hate the decimal grading system btw) is bad, but in today's world, anything not 9 and better is "bad".
This game is a solid 9/10 for me. Player movement, ball handling, passing, graphics, and AI has all improved from last year. Absolutely love what they have done with this game. And although people are complaining about server issues, that doesn't relate to me yet as I'm still enjoying MyGM, leveling my MyCareer player (got a 1 year contract with the Pistons, oh yeah) and playing against friends locally.
We all bought this game and are enjoying it (I hope you guys are) and I doubt you ballers IRL will even consider IGN reviews when it comes to sports games. At least not seriously lolComment

Re: IGN Review (7.8)

Re: IGN Review (7.8)
So if the servers have no more issues, do they raise the score??? Lol. Smh. In the preview, he admitted to having the game the same amount of time we've had the game, which is two days, and since the servers messed up in the two days he's had the game, that is the main contention of dropping the score? Most games that come out with online anything have server issues the first day or so, this just seemed like payback for last years debacle to me.
They waited weeks to review destiny, but kick this review out in two days...lol. Yeah, ok.Comment

I'll also add that bungie doesn't have the history that 2k has when it comes to server issues eitherComment

that is NOT an exaggeration what so ever myteam was unplayable and i had gotten burnt out playing mygm mode and quick matches
i literally sold the game because myteam was unplayable for me....and nobody is expecting the game to be perfectly fine and brilliant online....but i'd at least like to be able to get through a game...and that is crazy since i still own every copy of 2k since 2k5...that was the first 2k sports game i ever sold
and if the game isn't working for ME then that means there are 1000's of others in which the game was completely broken for as well...and that means the server issues are not fixed
and quite simply put....i don't believe you what so ever when you say have only been disconnected a hand full of times over the years
who are these "many" people that haven't had nightmarish encounters with 2k servers?.....they may be the single most notorious developer in gaming for server issues at this point.....maybe the debacle with BF 4 is bigger? but that is about the only one i could think of that would be more notorious than 2k serversComment

Re: IGN Review (7.8)
2. 2K has to push out a game once a year. Bungie has the luxury of setting their own release date.
These are not excuses. These are reasons why comparing to 2 is pointless. COMPLETELY different work conditions and requirements.Comment

1. Destiny had a BETA that was almost 2 months long!

I haven't read the IGN reviews but he gives a grade to the experience aswell. At least 50% of the game requires online and if it runs as bad as people are saying it is, there is no excuse and they should be called out on it.
On the back of the box it's not wrote : " Maybe once in a while you will be able to enjoy the Park, or compete with your favorite players in the MyTeam mode ".
Personnally I'd give the game a 9 out of 10 but I have yet to go online.Comment

If you're talking 2K14: MyTeam was totally playable for tons of people. You mileage varied obviously.
