I cannot, in all good faith, believe this statement. As a roster/slider editor that has spent hours upon hours "damage controlling" both 2K14 and 2K15, I just am not seeing how this statement can be a possibility.

We must be playing different games, my man.

We should just accept each iteration (and then conveniently call the last years lacking as soon as a new one comes out even though you spent all of last year damage controlling for it) and adapt right? I mean, why should anyone use these forums to point out areas where 2k is lacking (defense still needs improvement overall, both onball and team defense)? If you complain you're probably just a scrub that doesn't know how to adapt

Its not about people complaining about winning or losing, its how it happens. Sure some people are playing on too high a difficulty level (HOF should just be removed from 2k, the artificial stat boosts to the rosters just makes it turn into a cheese fest and brakes the realism altogether), but that doesn't fix some of the inherent problems with the game
The OP CLEARLY acknowledged that the game does have warts and isn't perfect. To further that, one of the key points was stating that the game CAN be made to suit your style and skill. So, why should VC fundamentally change those things, especially when they actually have it right? This straw man argument doesn't fly and is mostly a deflection. No one is talking about technical issues with the game like clipping. Something NO ONE would argue. So to come here and try to paint those that agree with the OP are enabling to 2K is a bs argument.

It boggles the mind...for real. 2K14 felt awful. Movement was terrible in so many ways. Saying 2K15 moves WORSE than that game has no basis in reality. The improvement is so significant I can't take posts like that serious. Maybe his controller is broken...I don't know.

Add to that controller lag, and you're basically just conceding that whoever you cover in any given game is going to have a huge scoring night. 2K has done absolutely nothing to fix it.
Then it's clear that they don't think it's broken as you think. For the record, they have changed the controls. In many cases, it's more responsive. The problem is that in others, it's much less responsive. It's that inconsistency that's noticeable to people. They need to fix that. Once it's consistent, your mind will adjust and it will be fine. But if you're expecting the stop on the dime bullcrap, then I hope they NEVER "fix" it. Bringing us back to the essence of the thread. People crying loudly to get VC change the game to suit their skill and style at the risk of stunting the progress that has been made.

No. They just have an opinion that varies wildly from the norm. Some people want and expect different things. To each his own.

This game can be frustrating, but then so rewarding when you master it and starting putting it all together over a full game. After starting on all star, I am playing on superstar (changed to 50 defensive assist and 'always' shot contest). Having some incredibly even games against the CPU. For me, 2k14 last year pipped 2k11 as my all time favourite basketball game. But 2k15 beats both of them, and might take its place as my favourite sports game of all time. This is a great, great game.

Re: I think PRIDE is ruining this game for some people

I'm in agreement with ya hear Born. I've gotten to a point where defense is becoming more and more consistent. I've finally got on ball defense down to the point where I'm okay with the inevitable cheesy stuff the computer uses.

Once I got defense down I was finally able to say "Hey that was cheese but that's okay they won't beat me playing like that." When I got to that point I finally started having fun. I've move up from Pro to All-star sim.

Still got a ways to go before I can play superstar but I can't wait to get there. This has been the best 2K in a while when it comes to D and offense.

Only thing I'm not fond of is shot releases I think I'm going to start playing on real FG% cuz I hate the releases on this game lol.

But anyways man great post there's a lot of cheese in this game in regards to the computer but once you get past it you can really play a solid game of bball.

Now if VC can tone down the odd rebound that is created through tenacious rebounder I'll be a happy man.

I'm expecting consistency. Right now, the AI players move on rails but the human player moves "realistically," which often makes on-ball defense frustratingly difficult verging on the impossible. The AI relies way too much on cheesing into unstoppable animation sequences that leave you a spectator rather than a participant.

And they rarely or never fault themselves, only faulting 2K and the game. That's why I always say people need to post full game video of their play instead of picking a couple plays out of the hundreds that occur during a game so people can critique what may/may not be legitimate. Some of these guys that are the biggest critics probably really don't know what they're doing, but they're making claims like they are saying "I want sim" and they really aren't. It's probably not all that different from people that go on American Idol thinking they really know how to sing, and when they're told they don't, they get mad and lash out instead of accepting legitimate criticism.

That's part of the danger 2K has with listening to the community too much imo; it's has to be hard to discern what's legit and what isn't. I'm no basketball expert but I know that and play within myself/love the game for what it is. You have people here that will fight to change the game when they really don't know what they're doing and don't want to accept they could be at fault. I don't know if Behindshadows was being overly critical but I give him credit; he posted full game video. I remember a few years ago watching a video from that guy ChrisSmoove or whatever his name is and wondering why people thought he was a great player - and he's leveling criticisms like he was some expert and at least from the part of the game I watched he really wasn't, to me. I just don't want 2K to change too much in trying to appease the loudest complainers.
                      excellent post dude.

yessir, that's why I think fan feedback, especially when it's about Gameplay, should always be vetted / contrasted with what goes on in the real NBA, real basketball physics, real dynamics, real players, etc.

What do you mean by this..."moving on rails"? Are you have difficulty getting by a defender? Are you have trouble staying with an offensive player? What animations are you talking about that the CPU uses? I swear I never see this stuff so I'm just trying to understand. I don't see the sliding and warping and overall unrealistic movement that some of you claim has ruined your experience.

I've seen the warping and sliding a bunch of times. Hasn't ruined the experience by any means for me. I still think it's an amazing game overall.

                              Here's another angle:

How much of the poor play that people are seeing from teammates is a result of the teams/coaching that is used?

I'm playing MyCareer as a 6'11" Center. I started at the Pelicans, and by the end of the year, I was up to 80 Overall playing on Pro.

My second year, I jumped ship to the Thunder, while also upping the difficulty to All-Star.

It was like night and day.

The game is SO much easier with the Thunder as coached by Doc Rivers than the Pelicans as coached by Monty Williams. I'm not talking about what I bring to the table, but what my teammates do. Having the second best player in the NBA makes a HUGE difference, along with going from a one-way coach to one that is a master on both ends.

I see people complaining very often while playing as the Timberwolves or the Jazz (or my Pelicans), and I find myself wondering "Why are you surprised that these guys don't play as well as other teams? They simply aren't as good as other teams!"

I may bump myself up to Superstar/Sim tonight. Thus far, in an ironic twist, after curbstomping the Jazz and the Clippers, I've only had one semi-close game: the Timberwolves. Even then, we went on a huge run in the fourth and won by 15 or so.

I think there may be other variables at play...
