Im not sure if its related, but the CPU often pulls up for mid range jumpers rather than drive it in. I like this addition a lot, but I feel the balance is swung too far in this direction (in the drive vs pull up debate)

I disagree while they pull up more this year they still need to pull up a little more.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
Typically patches take a couple weeks to post after being submitted to MS and Sony, but I don't want to misinform anyone so I'd rather not give a date.
As for FTA's, I saw a wide range in my tests today... as low as 18 in one game to 35 in another (12 min quarters). Need to get more games in before being confident in the fixes though.

Oh ok thinks for the update! Yeah I have heard the couple weeks thing before and with you saying that the patch should been sent off soon I was wondering if by sending it off soon meant like a week so a week plus 2 weeks to get passed by sony and Microsoft would be 3 weeks. Oh ok 35 sounds good has I think the most I have had is like 25 and I think the average for a team is 25. Any updates on what else may be in the patch? Also good job has this years game is pretty darn good.Last edited by darkknightrises; 11-05-2014, 03:56 AM.Comment

@Beluba
Are there more fouls off the ball or blocking fouls in the game after the patch? Or are you only looking for more calls in the shooting action/animation?
By the way: I think there should be a more fouls on jump shooters as well. I've probably never seen a jump shooter beeing fouled. Fouls only occur in the paint.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
There are so many bumping animations that should be fouls in NBA 2K15.
The CPU or the defender will be out of position or beat but will use the L Trigger to bump or so the ball handler down.
I've been watching the NBA for years and 80% of the bumping in 2K against the dribbler are fouls.True bout my business, Mane!Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
Played two games with the Bulls and I had 17 in the first game against NY and 22 in the second game. A bit low but not alarming for me. I do a lot of shot fakes and if you have good 3pt shooters then the defense falls for it a decent amount. I was in the penalty in two of eight quarters not including being in the penalty for the last 2 minutes. Only 4 FT were attempted in the last part of the game where teams are fouling to stay in the game. I'll play more but I haven't adjusted sliders much, just pump fakes and drives.Comment

Were these FTA numbers achieved with default sliders? Also, are we talking 18-35 per team, or combined?Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
My engineer and I have been working on this all day. It's not a simple tuning fix as many of you have mentioned. There are some fundamental issues with the way the AI attacks and how we handle fouls so we had to rework a lot of that. It's been especially challenging because we also had to get the AI to be smarter about taking more 3's as well... which made the PIP and foul calls even lower. We're getting close though... probably too many fouls being called at the moment actually. We'll get it worked out though.
I think you guys will be happy with his patch. A lot of great improvements in multiple areas. We'll be finishing it up and sending off to first party very soon.

I really love this game but as ive said before it is basically broken due to the lack of calls. When the fouls are fixed and called more often then i doubt i will be playing anything else.
Only other issues i see are where the players spot up. They seem to spot up on the 3 point line or just inside it rather than behind it. If that could be tweaked we would see more 3 point attempts. Also a lot of well contested mid range jumpers go in. I know this happens in real life but it happens a little too much in 2k15.
I think i can fix steals, turnovers and blocks with the sliders or at least im getting realistic, consistent results.
Finally, the 80's? There are way more calls called these days. You could hammer a guy in the 80's and get away with it. Damn i miss the 80's...
Great work 2k im looking forward to the patch and finally getting stuck into a full 82 game season.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
Now if you guys want to bring back period appropriate rules/gameplay/reffing when playing on classic team courts or as a Era setting complete with kick *** period filters and presentation, that'd be great.
It's a shame all that work never made it outside of the specific mode and games they were made for.Comment

I've seen the very, very occasional foul on a jumper but never ever 4 point plays. The defender jumping on fakes and fouling you also seems to overpower your ability to drive around him. Maybe I need to try a shot attempt faster.Comment

NBA 2K15 has NO regard for Fouls.
I just played a playoff game against OKC in MyCareer Superstar Simulation 12 min Q and i ended up shooting 26/26 FT. (My player is a 87 overall) i realized that the only way to get free throws is by doing layups instead of dunks. Dont hold the right trigger while driving to the lane and you get more foul callsComment

Ha! I'd love to see 80s-style ball when using 80s teams.
