Re: Having trouble shooting since patch
It would be an understatement to say that I changed my shot a thousand times. I can get a perfect release with a lot of shots, but eventually I'll brick a majority of my shots and switch it up.Comment

Re: Having trouble shooting since patch
I personally don't mind having miss some of my shoot. As long as I can defend and force my opponent to take some bad shot and miss, all is fine.
And beside some of my set plays are having more shot success than pre patch because of the improve passing. I now have a small window to established more foot planting before I take the shot.
The shot I notice that is hard to make are the one's taken on a one on one dribble or dribble penetration. I suggest to move the ball around and find the free man. That's what I have been doing online.Comment

Having trouble shooting since patch
The way I see the rating system is
Rookie: all opposing cpu players will play like they're Rookies
Pro: all cpu players will play like they're pros (which they all are, so probably the most realistic setting)
All star: all CPU players will play like all stars (knowing that not every1 in the league is an all star makes it obvious that some players will play better than they should, but the real all stars in the league will play like they should)
Superstar: all CPU players will play like superstars (there are only a few superstars in the league in reality, but on this setting they will allow even players like austin rivers to play like he's a superstar like kobe or Lebron)
Hall of fame: every CPU player, regardless of their abilities, will play as if they are a hall of famer. That means jordan farmar will drop 30 and 10 assists, because if he were a hall of famer that's how he would play. There will be no more distinction between good and bad players. You are basically playing a team made up of MJ, Wilt, Magic etc.
Obviously I refer to CPU opposition, not your own team. Your own team seems to mirror this negatively.
So HOF for CPU = rookie for your teammates
Superstar for CPU = pro for you
All star = you are both slightly boosted (my favourite setting)
Pro = your teammates are superstars other teams are pros
Rookie = your team are hall of gamers and the other team are rookiesLast edited by AdamBa17; 12-11-2014, 06:01 AM.Comment

Re: Having trouble shooting since patch
I know this thread is about shooting in general, but I'm just talking about the park here.
Anyone else notice (pre patch and post patch) that if your team or the opposing team is losing by 4 or more, that team's next 3-pt shot will almost inevitably go in? And this will continue until the game gets closer.
Also, has anyone noticed that (again pre or post patch), it seems like when a player gets to around 11 points on the blacktop it becomes almost impossible to make any more jumpers? This may be just me, but I've been red hot with 10-11 points and then it's like my shot fatigue says no more.
Since the patch, shooting for me has been way up and down; some games 5-6 from deep, others 0-7 or 1-6. I kinda had this problem before too, but since the patch it seems much more prevalent. I definitely don't make as many shots, but that doesn't bother me because neither does my opponent (I played a guy yesterday who literally missed 6 three's in a row, I couldn't believe his teammates kept feeding him).
As far as shooting goes, all I really care about is fairness, whether the percentages are unreal or real. Tons of guys have 95 shooting, and I'm sure plenty are boosting to 98. I myself have maxed shooting too. I'll take my misses, but the other guy better be missing too unless I'm taking bad shots and he's playing smart (which I will always try to make sure ISNT the case).
My only gripe, and I've said this before, is it seems like (TO ME) that the Ballers hardly miss if their attributes are up, which is why I almost switched from old town, but I'm still a flyer 😎Comment

Re: Having trouble shooting since patch
Shooting is horrible now. The whole game makes no sense. There was already a problem trying to play defense and now that I'm getting the feel of defense and making stops I don't get rewarded for it because I cant make the average jump shot that should be made. For example... I play with the knicks, Melo hits a jumper and we come down and make a defensive stop because of good D. We are out running on the break...its Melo against 2 defenders back ...plenty of space so instead of driving I stop and pop at the 3 point line just like Melo would do in real life...I hit the meter perfect and I miss...go back down and stop CPU again same exact situation Melo comes down and Stop and pop wide open and hit the meter perfect again...brick.
Point is its frustrating playing D and on offense I cant execute because of the stupid meter or Im killed on the drive because of slow animations or I cant get to the basket because I feel like my guys are playing in quick sand.
I watch the AI execute on offense sometimes so flawlessly... I body them up contest there shots and they manage to get around or alter the shot for the perfect finish...This game is just down right frustrating..
I love how when I miss a finish and the ball is loose my guy under the basket im controlling is stuck in some stupid animation and my controller wont respond to get to ball. Let the computer be around when the ball comes loose one of there guys that didn't have the ball will go into superman speed just to get the ball and my guys are still moving like they are in the retirement home.. I see this way to much..
CpU executes to good and the user execution is horrible.... A star player for the cpu is always on his game..hitting the midrange pullup, getting to the basket....the game is not balanced enough and not rewardingComment

Re: Having trouble shooting since patch
Wow, just played my first game online after the patch. If that game is any indication, taking contested layups is now preferable to wide open jumpers.Comment

Re: Having trouble shooting since patch
Pretty much. I find myself taking 2-3 wide open shots a game off the pass. Other than that I just drive in for a layup...seems to be less risky than a wide open look with a shooter. Leaving a shooter open should be deadly...now I feel like people don't even need to contest my shot, cause that thing ain't hitting nothing but rim. What I do notice is that all my contested shots with a very early release go in 9/10 times....opposed to my wide open, dam near perfect releases that go in 4/10 times. I don't get, I don't try to get it, so I just let them think I'm going to shoot, then pass out of my open looks.Comment

Re: Having trouble shooting since patch
It seems like the patch made things harder. Pre patch I played on SS/Sim and won about 50% of the time...now after patch I am 5-6 against the CPU on Pro/Sim.
This difficulty boost probably led to harder shooting on higher difficulties.Comment
