How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?

In my opinion, and I think many share it...2k15 & 2k11 are two examples of 2k doing a great job on addressing the community's concerns and patching the game...

After the great strides 2k11 made, the game that followed up (2k12) seemed to take a lot of steps back. For example, 2k11 did a great job of balancing rebounding...it probably hasn't been that balanced since....and 2k12 was the beginning of that down fall.

How do we stop this from happening again with 2k16?

Does 2k need to know what the community thinks DOESNT need "fixing"?

I agree that they need to know what not to change but I don't think many come here to give that type of input unfortunately.

Lets see if this thread gets as big as one of the single complaint threads because even when you have a massive patch that makes the game play well you have some that only point out whats wrong over the 550 things right.

I dont know if we can stop the changes if they decided to add new things again next year it'll have to be balanced again

feedback from the community helped made the patch what it was. Going Foward 2k should seek out those legit feedbacks with thorough input. For example they toned down dunks in traffic a lot . Why ? Because the community felt dunks were overpowered in traffic online. Maybe next year attention will be given to online leagues.

Also everybody gotta stop saying everything is broken . Don't say Kyle Korver shot is completely broken and unusable . Maybe say it's too hard to get a perfect release with this guy because he is a knockdown pure shooter .

The community as a whole but the entire OS audience is not the end all be all.

Thank goodness they hired actual community members to be apart of their team and guys who actually know what makes good basketball at that.

I think the triangle is so far off people's heads they don't even realize it's there. Especially to this degree. ... that's inside drive level greatness

Those freelance offenses are genius. That's definitely one thing that should be expanded on.

I'm a big fan of 2K but I think a persons satisfaction with the game this year depends on the team you use, the difficulty level and what mode you play - online or off.

While I certainly feel the scores and end results are more realistic, I'm not sure the gameplay that produces it necessarily is.

            Each year has its problems.

In online head to head hof sim, this year it's shooting - which is half the game.

            I'm not sure that's a step forward.

I'm also not sure that the cpu taking control of my guy at half court and controlling him in some sort of animation is a step forward either.

I haven't played quick match or my team road to the playoffs post patch but those modes have been the same year in and year out.

I think the game is the way it is this year because while people could play defense in the past, most couldn't and the answer was to artificially make it harder to score instead of manually.

This makes the teams handicapped by broken shooters with poor releases even worse especially against people who could defend in prior games which is mostly who I play.

I wouldn't have a problem with this except for the fact that a team like the NY Knicks which has only won four games this year is much easier to use with no practice than my Pacers who have won more games than that I've used since the game was released. And, I haven't managed a single green release with Copeland since the game came out yet I can immediately get them with Larkin.

Each year the game is essentially a chess board. If you can recognize and duplicate situations and make x, y and z moves, you get a successful result.

This year they just added a couple of more steps to x, y and z for the weaker teams.

The problem is no 2 people see the same thing the same way, who does 2k listen to, the guys on OS, the guy on Facebook, Instagram, twitter or some other forum. For every guy saying the game is great they hear 20 saying the something is broken, people have no desire to learn how to play the game before complaining that something does not work.

I agree 1000% as a old school bball player I can remember in my dorm room playing double dribble against everyone and we didn't complain how unrealistic or lack of defense that game was we just had fun with it and place no value to it..

Fast forward now and it a amazes me what people really complain about...I know it's a different era's but our mindset then was on having fun that's it..

If this game were in my era I swear I would not have graduated Lol...

2K to me made a perfect basketball game without no complaints from me...

This right here! No one takes the time to learn the game , a couple don't even take the time to even read the manual anymore.

I see guys complaining in threads because they can't dunk all game in traffic or run the fast-break every possession with old teams who play slow paced.

I honestly don't know what we can do because as evidence with this beautiful patch they'll still get trashed for improving the game or should I say removing cheese tactics.

I guess just hold onto hope that the guys on the team from the community continue to hold us sim guys down.

Offline the game is pretty good. Even as the Pacers I like it.

It's hof, sim head to head specifically where I'm not convinced there's "momentum". To me they just increased fouls which everyone felt needed to be addressed but did nothing in the area of shooting which the OS community also discussed at length.

I'm a pretty big advocate of the "people need to get better camp" myself. I always feel I can improve and have been a broken record here speaking that message.

But, for those of you on PS4, to help illustrate what I'm talking about, I'm happy to suit up for two games online head to head 12 min, HOF, sim sliders for two games.

The first game, I'll play you as your squad of choosing with my Pacers and in the second we will reverse teams, I'll play without ever practicing with your team and then we will see if you feel the same about how great the game is.

And we can post the live stream here for further discussion.

Coach, I will not address all of your points as I agree with most but I do not think there are "broken shooters."

The only reason I'm harping on that aspect of your post is because I have a feeling 2K is going to make shooting too easy soon and I think we can agree, we rather have it harder to shoot than easier. Nevertheless, I do agree shooters like Kyle Korver window should be the largest and easiest to master (I updated my roster and patch few days ago and I can CONFIRM you get perfect release with Korver on HOF/SIM). However, that subject is nether here nor there. . .

I think one aspect that CAN'T be overlooked this year to maintain 2K's current momentum is Ecomotion. It makes the game feel alive and even though it's nice for shooting, I would like to see it for other caveats of basketball like dribbling, momentum, running, more for shooting like contact shots (attempting to draw fouls to no avail, leg out shots drawing offensive fouls, ect..), hustle plays like diving on the floor or out of bounds, ect. Ecomotion gives that natural feel in my opinion.

Tendencies, freestyle offense, CPU AI offensive playcalling needs more diversity and playbooks can be better now that I've seen what Vann did. All of these are essential to 2K creating a "NEW" feeling for 2K16 and the momentum will only grow if they expand on these aspects of the game...In my opinion

I was thinking of starting a similar thread...just didn't know how to word it.

It would been something like "hey 2k I like how it plays after the patch...can you guys just build up from there instead of reinventing the wheel"

I just want my defense in the game already without it being patched.

Its actually pretty amazing that for the most part what happens in 2K replicates the real thing pretty well.

I think the freelance system is a start to get uniqueness out of each team so each team plays like a different CPU user. I think that's a positive area for growth.

Agree to disagree on the shooting aspect. That's why I put my challenge out there.
