    Help with doing Fantasy Draft

I'm wanting to start a new MyLeague franchise but am noticing there isn't one particular team I want to play with. I have a lot of different players I like, and want to put them on one team.

I am reaching out to this group to help me with tips for doing a Dynasty draft. I haven't done one before and was hoping you guys/girls could help me with a good strategy.

    Such as:
    • What position should I draft 1st, 2nd, etc.
    • What type of draft (snake or traditional)
    • What draft pick # should I try to be?
Any other tips would be helpful. Thanks!

I would do sepertine, and go onto a random number generator, and put 1 as the minimum and 30 as the max, what ever number you get, thats what pick you have. If you get a top 5 pick, draft one of the good Small Forwards (Lebron, Durant, Melo, George, Curry - Not a SF, 5th best player to draft IMO) If you do not get one of those players, I would go with a PG. After that you need to draft however you want to build your team. Do you want to be a 3 point shooting team? Dominate the Post? Run the Break? Its all up to you, but draft the people that fit your scheme. Hope I helped! Good luck.

OK the first one doesn't matter it's all about how you play. For instance I think I went best young player available, in Demar Derozan . Also be aware of the regression issue, which is all players over the age of 28 take a huge drop in ratings. I went snake in mine because that is the most fair because if you go fixed then the team with the number 1 pick will be pretty nasty and the number 30 pick team could be horrendous. I would go mid round pick like 15-18. That way you are never towards the end of the draft. Also players fall a lot. Like I think I got Duncan in the 4th round when he easily should have went in the 2nd.

First off, I do a lot of fantasy drafts. One of the reasons I never buy Madden anymore is because I spend 95% of my time doing drafts and never playing the actual game. Anyway, here's some tips from my haphazard way of drafting:

        1) PG is usually the last to run low on solid players, so you can wait until about the 3rd round to grab a solid one. Other than that, just grab a guy you want to play with that fits your style in the 1st/2nd round. The CPU drafts young talent early. So guys like Wiggins/Embiid and others will go in like the 2nd/3rd rounds. That's why you can get older guys like Ginobili/Duncan/KG later.

        2) Snake is more fair to every team. Most of them will be balanced, but you most likely won't get any superstar stud teams. I do Traditional and take the 1st pick, but then again I stink at playing the game and routinely have issues winning on Superstar even with the solid teams I draft.

        3) Your pick all depends on what kind of a challenge you want while playing, who you want to draft and what draft type you choose.
1st pick in a traditional will get you an awesome team. 30th pick, not so much. However, in a snake draft the last pick isn't so bad since you can usually get two of the top 25 players since guys drop.

Another tip is to do a practice run at drafting to see how it plays out. Then on your 2nd time around you draft for real. It can get a little overwhelming on your first run through with so many options available.

Also, since I'm more of a fan of the history of the NBA rather than the guys that are playing now, I like to put as many of the historical players into my league as possible and draft from that pool. I even switch young Kobe/Duncan for their old versions. Makes it really fun for me seeing guys like Shaq and Blake Griffin on the same roster.

That is very helpful thank you. I'm looking for a 3pt type team with a solid defensive C and PF that can rebound well.

OK, so your picks should be determined by where you pick. If you pick in the top 10, try to get a good wing or big man. 11-30 you should grab a good young PG like Wall or Dame Lillard. Then build around that player. You should surround a player like Wall with good shooters or Lillard with a good wing defender. Definately do a snake draft so the teams will be more balanced, although some teams will be better than others. Also, make sure you draft young because most players start to lose ratings at around 28. I've had good teams drafting in the top 5 and bottom 5. It all depends on how you want to build your team.
