Re: Twitter Rage Reveals 2k Direction on Online Leagues

To be completely honest, my biggest issue has been the initial connection with the server, this happens about once every 10 times I boot the game up.

Other then that, I've played a ton of MyTEAM, finished domination and 20+ challenges without a hiccup.

I've played about 40+ online matches (I realize that's not many compared to some of you) vs. random opponents and friends, and haven't much stuttering that lasted longer than a couple of seconds. My games are either early in the morning or late at night, so that could have something to do with it.

Im aware of 2k's server issues as a whole though, so I am right there with anyone fighting to get those issues resolved if they're experiencing them...Just speaking on my own experience though.

Can someone please tell me exactly
what Defensive assist strength and Boxout Assist strength is??? I know its suppose to help guide you in some way but I never really understood what exactly turning it from 0 to 100 or 100 to 0 is suppose to do? Is it just a placebo effect or does it really matter. What are the games default settings for these?

Has nothing to do with this thread, and repeating the questin over and over again won't help you but in order to stop you from posting more, I'll help you:

Defensive Assist Strength: Determines how much the AI moves the player you are controlling. I prefer it set to 0, because I feel the AI always wants me to move somewhere I don't want to go.
e.g. I get beaten on the wing and then switch to the help defender, the defensive assist strength on 50 makes me move back to my original opponent instead of the middle in order to help out, which makes help defense impossible.

Same with Boxout assist strength: After opponent shots the AI will move the player you are controlling in order to be in better position to boxout. I prefer this to 0 also, I want to decide myself where I want to move...

What I hate, that the default for this is 50...It should be 0 and just those wo need it should turn it on (should be turned off online no matter what someone wants it to be...)

So putting those guys on blast on Twitter is not only pointless, but childish as well. The only reason Czar responded was because the guy claimed to rep the Sim community, and he let it be known that the Sim community is more respectful than that. Not once did he excuse or dismiss any issue.

The bottom line here is that throwing insults at guys that have nothing to do with your issues is your problem. Why should they respond to **** they have no knowledge or power to do anything about?

Frankly, the servers have been the best they've ever been overall, yet throughout the whole year, some people will rage about some incident they had once in a 3 week period, and start bitching as if it was Christmas 2013. It's tiresome to bystanders, so I know it must be tiresome to them. Recently, with the new Park release, MANY more people have showed up playing the game. They clearly still don't understand how popular their own game is, or they are too damned cheap to buy more servers. Cry about THAT to tech support, and limit crying to those guys about the stuff they control or influence.
            Huh?

And you're saying the SAME things I did earlier in the thread. I said the guys Tweets were immature...it's right here in the thread.

My point is...when 2K is ignoring any mention of the servers, it's easy to see how some people get frustrated. It doesn't excuse their immature behavior, but I get it.

Anyone who is actually paying attention knows that the servers are SLOW on the weekends...and that it's been happening for months. This isn't about "oh...I got disconnected from a game ONCE 3 weeks ago". This is about a systematic problem that keeps popping up over and over.

From Vs. ranked matches, games against friends, or the very rare occasion I play MyTeam, I normally have a pretty smooth connection. If I have any hiccups or lag, it's minimal and doesn't last long at all.

So, not everyone is putting on their "2K defender capes" , some of us really do have a different experience.
My connection is also smooth, most of the time.

But there is an obvious slowdown any time I play on the weekends...and this has been for a few months now.

Instead, those WASTED created leagues just take up server space. This is just one small group of people with THREE THOUSAND PLUS LEAGUES. Now think about how many other 2K players there are world-wide...

2K needs to implement safeguards against this and sweep the non-actives to give priority to the people actually trying to use the feature to it's full effect.

                  Two words: Custom Rosters.

We manage our rosters for several years now outside of the game. We have our own management rules, do free agency between every season, do a rookie draft once a year... Quickmatch is not an option for us.

                    Hello Biggieruth,
I am sorry to hear that you are still experiencing connectivity issues. Xbox Live should be fully restored as of now. Can you please elaborate on how you came to the conclusion that Xbox Live says you have the requirements for all other games except NBA 2K15?
Your description of the issue makes me suspect latency as the issue. Whenever a game freezes up and then goes in fast forward it usually means a de-synchronization issue. Have you experienced this issue before the server issues that happened last week? Is Head to Head the only game mode where this issue occurs?

                      Hello Biggieruth,
Both Evolve and WWE 2K15 are run on different servers than NBA 2K15. Because NBA relies so heavily on servers, they are handled differently from our other games. I am not surprised that the other games work fine, to be completely honest with you. Based on our ongoing conversation, I am certain that the issue is related to the NBA 2K15 server only.
Unfortunately I still have no possible solutions for you as the problem has yet to be found and fixed.

Can anyone read in between the lines example from this email.I am certain that the issue is related to the NBA 2K15 server only.
Another example in the email: read in between the line they can't flat out admit they know the infrastructure of their servers suck. This what 2k said in the email: I am not surprised that the other games work fine, to be completely honest with you.
After these emails and posting this information from emails too the public.I gave them my gamertag for some reason every-time now i try too connect too the 2k servers.I get my data is out of sync and cant even get too the 2kTV screen with scores and updates.I cant even connect too the servers.I personally think they banned my account from their servers.I left this information with a high rep with in Microsoft they goner test and see if theirs any validity too my claims.I'm try too connect too the 2k servers while Microsoft takes control of my gamertag. If we find out 2k banned my account for speaking out and not cheating like they do on first person shooters.I have the forms too bring a small claims personal lawsuit too 2k.Anyone reading this can call bull**** remember this is America people bring lawsuits for lesser ****.

Arguing with each other, spamming posts of e-mails, trying to get a reaction out of people who can't solve the issue amounts to nothing in the end, and this thread will just die down to the bottom of the forum. Time to stop spinning wheels and back up all the passion with some action....it's something that has worked for various gaming community's, why not yours?

Its already been done by Da Czar and his SimNation movement. What surprises me about that is that its the same "tribe" of us that consistently support that. The moment someone wants some youtube views/subs they'll rock with us but guys don't do a complete 'show of force'.

Czar has laid the foundation down for us but you have guys like JerseyMade and SaluteMe757 out here trying to show guys how to play and aren't getting the support that they should have.

Forums are a good place to hangout but using a social media platform like Twitter would be huge to push our 'sim objective' and hopefully grow our numbers. Just search the hashtag #SimNation on Twitter and you'll see there are already guys out there trying to push it. I'm not saying everyone has to go out and make youtube channels (though pushing realistic content would help) but at least go out and support those guys who are out there trying to help the community in their own unique way. Heck, Da Czar should have 500K subs but guys aren't showing that love. They'll sit here and complain on a forum but won't take 10 minutes to watch/like/share the content to help grow our numbers.

You can only lead a horse to water. Czar helped lead us to that water but only a few of us are trying to drink.

Gameplay and Game modes means nothing if the servers don't.So please stop trying too change the subject or divert intention from the 2k servers.

At the end of the day it just seems like 2K looks where they make the most profit though.
Sim is a mindset, you can approach the game and play it like that if 2K just provides a few tools which they always have.
I can't even approach an online league because I can't even make one. And yet countless tweets, posts on here, and emails have been fruitless in helping me understand what to do. 2K likes to casually ignore things they know they aren't fixing.

How many years in a row have people like me been trying to get Crew to come back? And they always dance around the subject or do something dumb and bring it back on last gen.
So many people, especially bigger names on youtube are for Crew, yet 2K doesn't listen because realistically the Park brings them more money.

They don't even mention what's up with not even being able to create an online league, let alone any problems (I hear about) once you're in one. Yet every hour these guys are on twitter promoting My Team stuff.

Crew and Online Leagues were my two favorite modes, I like being able to play with/against friends..and the customization and different ways to approach playing them modes were more fun than just quick games against my friends.
They put up a poll a few years ago asking what modes were most important and I know my career and crew got 1 and 2 in whatever order. Yet knowing that, Crew was still not in the game.

How big is the thread going about Online Leagues on the front page here? They have to know about the issue, and just seeing how many people on here alone are upset we can't play it should be clue enough to them that it needs to be fixed.
Obviously it's not getting as much buzz as Crew used to, because that's all the youtube guys talk about besides my career and my team..but like I said, we know 2K guys come on here and that post has been on the front for a while.

It seems that, the bigger 2K is becoming the more out of touch with the community they're getting. I always felt like we had some input on the way the game was going, now with the constant my team updates I feel like they're listening way more to the casual guys than us. Every Thursday they got new players that we can't even use unless we spent money on VC (realistically speaking)...
How about taking a week off of that and work on a foundation to get these leagues working again?
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

The Park is literally Crew 2.0.

It seems that, the bigger 2K is becoming the more out of touch with the community they're getting.
2K continues to hire passionate people direct from this community. Yet they are losing touch with each passing year? Stop.

If anything 2K is increasingly intent on DEVELOPING the community further, which is evident from watching any episode of 2KTV.

Yet every hour these guys are on twitter promoting My Team stuff.

All of the MyTeam material was done in advance, and is being released over a 52-week period. This is being done in an effort to keep people actively playing the game the entire year, instead of putting it down in April or June. If there's something new in 2K 365 days a year, then yeah, that's a pretty big deal compared to five years ago (much less ten) and the marketing department is going to treat it as such.

Yes, there is obviously some financial incentive there. Does this make this a bad addition to the game, simply because it's not focusing on your favorite unplayed mode?

Crying about 2K operating like any sensible business and taking care of the interests of it's "Casual" user base is completely illogical. You are coming strictly from an emotional place if you think they differ from any other major video game company on this planet. You paid the same amount of money as the other 9,999,000 people who don't visit these forums.

All anyone does here is cry about VC monetization. 2K Sports are not banksters ripping people off, foreclosing homes and lining their pockets with undeserved bonuses. They are pumping this revenue right back into the game and it's evolution over this 3-year period is blatantly evident... unlike a certain football game which has similar sales numbers over a ten-year period yet has been the same game over that stretch.

you also "had the stones" to tell the truth.

my homies didn't even attempt a league this year
after they snatched away so much league administration control.

the essence of basketball gaming is about learning a team comprised of individuals.

a league offers so much more basketball.
