So RS flick right, then move and hold left will result in the player shimmying to his right, then fading to his left side.

I never double shimmied, but my guess is flick, flick, hold results in a double shimmy.

I never knew that, thanks for clarifying it.

Hey OS community. I have a few questions and would love if someone could be so kind and answer them. How do you properly execute "ICE"? I understand in defensive settings under screen you can choose "ICE", however I rarely see my wing and big (it takes two right? lol) execute it properly or actually, see them even attempt to execute it at all.

I have tried setting all players under defensive settings to "ICE" and tried both soft and hard hedge as well, but to no avail it doesn't work.

BTW on a side note, I have the same issue w fronting the post. I set front the post, yet it never works. I tried even applying deny along with front the post to see if it works in conjunction with the other. Does anyone know how to get your big to front the post, while you are controller your wing or guard on the perimeter? Unfortunately, every time I control the big to front the post, it's an automatic score for the opposing team, cause the wing or guard either pulls up for the jumper or blows past my wing or guard that's on him. And we all know that the percentage goes down if we do the actually guarding, so I would rather have my CPU do the fronting on the post, while I, guard the wing or guard on the perimeter to counter any moves they attempt.

          ICE:

          Keys:

          1. Every defender wants to push the ball handler towards the baseline. Nothing in the middle.

          2. During PnR, the ballhandler's defender must fight over the top on the screen. The screener's man does not hedge. He stands 3-5 feet behind the screen in a shading position to take away the drive and allow the ballhandler's defender to recover. You want them to take a midrange jumper - statistically the worst shot to take on the floor.

To make it work in 2K:

Force every ballhandler for the opposition's PnR towards the baseline (put in the settings as well) and have them go over the screen, also in settings. Don't forget to set ICE in the menu as well. During any pick and roll action, take control of the big and let the AI fight over the screen. Sometimes the big doesn't take the proper drop and is too close to the screener and its an easy drive for the offense.

ICE (or blue, red, kill in other defensive schemes) is very effective but to get the most of it like Thibs did in Boston and Chicago is to commit to it completely. I run ICE defensive principles in every sim game I play and 99.9% of the time its a low scoring affair. I've been running it since 2K13 and I have yet (at least to my knowledge) given up 100+ points (HOF/Sim 12 min quarters) and maybe given up 90+ 2 or 3 times. Its a good defense to learn.

JerzeyReign, thank you so much. I appreciate it. However, I'm a bit confused by the above and need some clarification due to in defensive settings, you are unable to choose both "go over" and "ice" on screens for one player.

Since it's needs two(wing/guard and big) to execute, are you saying to set the opposing ball-handler to "go over" on screens, with force baseline in conjunction while the opposing big who is setting the screen to "ice" in the defensive settings screen?

How do I defend the alley-oop? This game is OD on the alley-ooping and the success rate is too high. Offense is overpowering in this game imo.

Let me fire up 2K and ensure I'm saying it correctly. I'll edit this post.

Let the AI control the defense of the alley oop as they get to it more times than not. If you want to try, it should be the block button.

Press the steal button once the oop is thrown and you'll trigger that crazy swat animation.

                      Hey everyone.

I am trying to lead the current injury free roster of 76ers to the playoffs and possibly an NBA championship. However, I want to have a slashing CAP SG or SF in that team instead of covington.

I have created many CAPs and tried them and fiddled around with their tendencies but none seem to be ready to drive?? They just pass the ball or take bad shots. Sometimes when they do drive the stop even when they can dunk. The best I could do was CAP using Dunk the funk Gerald green and he would do Iso moves and get past the defenders all the time but he never dunked! Only lay ups even after having lay up tendencies low and driving dunk, contact dunk high.

Could it be that all the badges I am giving him cancelling certain moves like acrobat, fade ace? Could it be the play book or could it be just that the team is really bad spacing the floor?

Can someone please guide me how to create a slashing cap sg or sf for 76ers. He has to Iso frequently and dunk. It is for my own entertainment. I play league through CPU vs CPU. Thanks!

Are you playing MyGM or MyLeague?

When you create the player, what are you doing with the customization of player tendencies, both for that player and for the players around him?

I am playing MyLeague CPU vs CPU. I am not changing anything with the 76ers players. I am just releasing covington and assigning my created SF to the starting line up. Under the staff menu, I am hiring better coach and assistant coach with emphasis on offense.

While creating my player, I am choosing his play types to be 1> Iso, 2> P&R ball handler and 3> Cutter

I am also using Dunk the funk Gerald green tendencies : 2khead dot com/15/players/2576-gerald-green

I dont have a specific answer to your question, but since you're in MyLeague and have full edit control, if you're not seeing the behavior in your games you want to see, then the answer lies somewhere in your whole tendencies setup, I believe.

So, the factors you have to set up include the individual player tendencies, the tendencies of the other players on the team, and the tendencies in your sliders overall. I believe for CPU v CPU games the only sliders that matter are the CPU sliders, controlling both teams on the floor at once.

I didn't follow your link, but if it sets up the created player, the player's opportunities to drive and slash will be dictated by the offense and the player tendencies around him. A lot of default players have their shot tendencies and what not too inflated, so if your guy is not a classic shooter he may not get the ball enough in the AI system to do isolation, etc. You'll have to correct for this both by adjsuting the tendencies of the other players and at the overall slider level.

The other thing you can't really control playing CPU v CPU is the POE's that the CPU uses. Ideally, to see your created player do what you want, you'd want the CPU to use a fair amount of attack the basket on offense. You can't control for this, though, so you'll have to work your adjustments in the ways I've already described.

Apologies if you've already done all this and it hasn't worked.

Thanks. You are right. It was the CPU tendencies slider that was messing everything up. I made every 0 under that thinking CPU will follow POE. I have made all the CPU tendencies 50 under the coach settings and it works alright. Still some tweaking needs to be done.
