MyPlayer isn't a simulation mode, its meant to be played like an arcade game. Hero ball is what you're SUPPOSED to do. If it was an actual simulation mode - which it will never be - it would be 1000X harder to improve your player.

Complaining about simulation aspects in mycareer is like complaining about someone not being sim playing NBA Jam imo.

This is where we disagree. At least with the initial vision and deployment of MC. I respect you but in this case you are wrong. MC shares a lot logic and systems with the MyLeage and MyGM and in that respect is a lot more sim than you are giving it credit for.

Using the sliders where you can (eg. real fg%) does make a difference.

@Cardinalbird - You really don't understand MC if you think you have little to no impact on how your team plays.

MC was more about the journey then the destination. I wish 2K would go back to its roots on MC.

The thing about this so called " ComeBack Code" is not soo much that the game is programmed specifically to accomplish just that, so i believe that Beluba is right in saying that there is no such code, but there is a big BUT.....

Lets take a look at the hated or loved call of duty infamous quick scope....If i should ask infinity ward if there is a quick scope code in the game and they would respond to me saying NO, techically they are correct because thier was no such intentions and i believe them, but can u quick scope?...... the answer is still yes but as a result of having auto assist aim enabled on console versions it gives an advantage and existence of user input married with AI assitance....and the end results in infuriates the recipient

I think and again this is OPINIONATED
that majority of the user base on my own experiences and youtubed videos that, those experiencing the "comback Code" are the ones playing against other users, and not so much people playing against AI modesl ike Mygm ect. with the codes giving the Ai the ability to makes adjustmetns to challenge the user is extremely talented coding and it makes the Ai dynamic and Intuitive.

But when a user is added to the equation and the Ai for the losing player is making these adjustments, kinda like AUTO Assist in COD the results are not satisfying... People want to lose to another user because they feel that they lost to a better player or a person having a better game, not because MOMENTUM aided what appeared to be worst player. despite his prefered team having better ratings a user vs a user should reflect the outcome of the better player and so much the better team chosen 90% of the time.

Now with all that being said and U asked me if NBA 2k15 gives me the impression of a momentum that generates A Qiuck Scope effect ? then i would say yes. dont get me wrong it works well against the Ai but against another user it is infuriating to say the least. to watch a user doing the same thing since the start of the game only to be rewarded for it just now. And i know i will hear u need to adjust your game, and i do if they adjusted to shot down the perimeter and i made my line up adjustment to hammer in the paint should i not also be rewared for my adjustment? IF yes then why am i missing layups? why am i missing wide open mid range shots with slighty early releases and he is making slighly latee with good defence? his bosted Ai teamamtes are the problem during momentum and i think this is what is creating the " Come Back" effect.

And before i go any further i would have u know that VC had never ever made a basketball game that i have not owned , i played every last one of them since deamcast

If they would be such an Option to take off momentum i think that this would alleviate this whole argument, because i think that is where the problems lies or at least when playing against another user the effects should be diluted to bare minimum . Uers shold make their momentum with great offensive and deffensive possesions UNassisted and not from AI calculated algorithms based on current situations.

I played MC and it just does not play like a true game. You have to take over to consistently win on SS or HOF. Even all-stars on your team do not play like it, plus you have no impact on what type of plays you run. If I make an athletic slashing PF then they shouldn't feed me in the post or use me as a stretch 4. It is just generic and unless you are a PG I feel like the plays are the same ones over and over.

It is "hero" ball....even people that work for 2k will admit that. If I wanted to experience a true sim then I'd do a player lock on a rookie or create myself and put me on a team. You progress unnaturally. It is what it is...but I don't really enjoy the mode. I enjoyed it more in 2k11 where I had to earn everything and you could control individual attributes, but that is a different story.

There are sim issues with MC but there are sim issues with every mode in the game. Getting that out of the way, playing on HoF is non-sim for any mode. There are specific quotes by Da_Czar and others saying anyone playing on HoF is signing up for cheese and should expect cheese.

On the other hand, even though people like yourself argue that MC is "hero ball incarnate" I have never seen an actual developer in the last 5 years say this. Can you link me such a quote? The closest I have ever seen was on SinNationHangOut episode last week where Da Car was saying there is "an argument out there" during a small discussion of it with Brother Brooks.

As to needing to constantly taking over, that is plain misleading. Especially if you take a true sim approach in it.

It is ok not to enjoy the mode. What isn't ok is taking the position that sim elements and sim play should not be expected in this mode. This is something that every member of SimNation should be supporting. Just as we all should be supporting sim-improvements in every area of the game - from 2kTV to Rec play online.

I realize we are most likely going to have to agree to disagree on the MC mode. That is o.k. too. I just could not stand by in silence tho and had to respond to both you and Jersey.

All they have to do is bring back or unhide the clutch slider and off setting. I use to turn that crap off to prevent the crazy come backs. Not every game should be close but for some reason this year most of my games are close and not blow outs. I remember ppl didn't believe the players got an artificial boost, but the truth came out last year when a member found out it was happening when he switched sides and went to the substitution menu and you saw all the crazy boost. They fixed that this year so we can't see the boost.

I can't speak for any other game mode than MyPark, more specifically the Rec Center though, but there is definitely something going on when one team falls behind, or goes on a run. I used to think it happened more in the 3rd quarter, but now it seems like the 4th quarter is definitely a losing team's best friend.

For the record, I've been on the bad and good side of this hundreds of times. It's great being on the good side, but the whole thing is just soo cheesy.. To refrain from writing a novel over here, I'll just say that even if it's all in our heads, there is no possible explanation for the absolutely ridiculous things that you'll see happen in the Rec when a team is down 10-15+ in the 4th quarter and goes on a run.


Ever see a team comeback to win the game with 2:30 left and down 23 points? I have.

Ever see a team comeback in the fourth quarter just about to fall short, but the other team's 2-ring top scorer with attributes similar to LeBron miss a break-away layup? I have.

Ever see a guy whose team is up 15 points get stripped clean while performing a driving layup, only to perform the exact same animation on the other end of the court and get called for a shooting foul? I have.

Ever see a Rookie 1 PG with a 64 overall rating drain three 3's from the 2K logo in the Park when his team is losing 10-2? I have.

Jumping in late here. I watched the video. It was cringeworthy basketball from both sides at best. Lance Thomas missed a contested dunk. He's not that good you shouldn't have tried to rise up with him.

That hands straight up in the air foul call is a call that's made in basketball on every level. It's normally followed by a big man making the following Tim Duncan face:



The game has momentum for sure as well as hot and cold streaks. If someone's getting hot or cold you need to call a timeout and adjust strategy or take them out of the game. Or put someone in the game who has the Mentor badge.

Either way you can't put up a video of you playing THAT terribly and try to blame it on hard coded momentum swings.

Js...I have now posted 3 videos on this site of myself going into the the 4th quarter WITH the lead, and maintaining the lead throughout the rest of the game...where are all of the videos of these "magical" comebacks???

no offense but Its easy to say that when u can just easily pick and choose what video to put up and to top that off that you have a slider set that completely dumbs down the computer. Also these comebacks are all over youtube. Me i don't call them comeback i call it CPU cheese because comebacks happen in the NBA, but not how they should be happening in this game.

CPU starts doing unrealistic crap and cheese to get back into the game. Your CPU teammates become quite dumb and start leaving their man for no reason and other crazy things that shouldn't happen. You have the ball start going through hands and other bodyparts including the backboard. CPU getting bail out fouls. CPU doing wrestling moves on you and you don't get the call. CPU doing the 1 legged dirk with everyone and making that shot at a high clip. CPU making shots over 2 7 footers. It's like ppl forgot about the clutch factor option and slider we had the ability to turn off and lower; which slider makers at the time did. I guarantee it's on by default and the slider is at default or higher.

The funny thing is I'm a software engineering major and I'm literally just sitting at my house behind my computer screen laughing at uneducated comments like that because it just lacks so much knowledge. Do you understand how difficult it would be to implement a sequence situational code that only activates when you start to win? Then balance that, and then HIDE it? Do you understand how difficult that would be? And then Beluba comes right in here and says they would never do that, why? Because his programmers would never stand for it? I mean honestly do you think they care that you lose that much? I mean the fact that this conversation has gone on this long on this forum is utterly ridiculous.

It was replaced by the momentum system, which is "clutch factor" for the entire game, not just the 4th.

"Closer" is part of the system, but there are many other overlapping parts, which is why it can't be turned on or off.

The game also did away with Clutch ratings, which were the driving force behind "Clutch Factor" for a decade (that includes years when the rating was hidden).
