im a Defensive minded person along with my main 2k friend. and nothing infuriates us more than seeing, "GREAT SHOT DEFENSE" then watching the ball go it like we arent even there like <_< and this was made worse after the demis came in.

defense in this game is LOL , your best defense is sadly having a VERY GOOD OFFENSE

I gotta defend the pro am threads . There aren't the same topic . I could see it having its own forum . People want designs , wanna form a squad , search for squad mates , talk about gameplay in the pro am , talk about the leaderboards , tips for squads etc ...

Well said Sooner or later @23 this forum will be flooded with Pro-Am threads by time it comes out. I would honestly be surprised if it wouldn't be. There is just so much excitement for it and even I'm excited for it as well but I agree with everyone that defense doesn't exist at the park.

Sure, it exist but not that much. Today, I played against a legend and he didn't zig zag, shoot impossible 3's, or anything else that was cheese. I had to send him a kind message just because he's a legend and we all know how OP they are.

after the past crying about crew and countless threads, i doubt 23 and other mods will allow flooding this year. ProAM is just one mode and 2k hasnt even gone in depth with the more serious hardcore modes yet

I really hope 2K takes defense seriously for this mode. The teams that dominate should be the teams that play the best defense. No more ridiculous 3pt shooting, zig zagging etc.

My goal is to become the greatest defender at the Pro-Am. I'm talking lockdown take your best player out of the game type defender. Like a shutdown corner. If done correctly, this mode will be soooo much fun. Imagine the level of scouting involved when trying to put together your team.

Scottie Pippen is my fav player and I will model my game around his.

This is not directed to one person specifically. Yes, I would like 2k to focus strictly on defense just one year. The offense always get a lot of love, and the defense seems to get the back seat.

What exactly is Pro-AM in the real world? All I "know" about it is through youtube. All I see are "highlight type plays." Someone scoring 49 points, isolation one-on-ones trying to bring the house down, lots of flash, alley-oops, Professionals vs. Amateurs ballers, better defense than an NBA All Star game, but rarely see much "defense" if you will.

Does Defense even matter in the real Pro-Am? Isn't Pro-Am just about ballers showing off?

The contest logic is overdue for a rewrite....regardless of difficulty level, player rating, momentum...etc....heavily contested shots should be treated as such. ...

True . What are the chances that we can have a private Pro Am locker room with the ability to change the settings to HOF Sim like we do in teamup ? That would change the game ...

All I know is shot contest needs to ****ing mean something.

And when I contest with the right stick while not pressing any other button, don't make me jump by default.

I remember playing two 7'2" players (I was 6'11, full wingspan), playing perfect D on them, contesting their post move with the right stick (which usually resulted in a pump fake I didn't fall for), and they either made it like I didn't exist (level 20 defense) or 2k forced me to jump when I didn't press anything.

Fix it.

Fix it.

hands up is the weakest defense you can play . A manual contest by jumping after anticipating the shot is the best you will get. Problem is 2k has canned post move animations that make you jump even when you take your hands off the controller

I was a pretty good rebounder too lol (tenacious, and hustle points badges)

I'm talking about who needs a player like that on their squad for Pro-am this year? That player will be me (has been the past 2 years).
