Problem is plays like this. RW simply lost the ball here, it wasn't a block but should have been....squared this up perfectly

If I would've pressed 'Y' by itself I bet I would've jumped be complete opposite way or been moved back

Yeah it looks like Anthony Davis should've sent that out into the stands but instead he just triggered a missed layup animation.

Exactly it favors offense even that's a miss, it's the best outcome that could ever go happen for a bad layup selection like that. I do believe these all bcs of overpowered Badges on the favor offense all the time, there are offensive GODS vs simplistic defensive guys and also physics don't play any part in those sequences.

That second one happens to me 24/7. I'm good at protecting the rim but actually getting the block itself doesn't happen as much as it should like your first clip.

I think my favorite is a situation like the second vid where you get a block because you see the trajectory move on the ball, yet it just falls straight into the rim anyway.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Seems like you have so much going against you when going up for a block

          - Will you jump? and if you do will there be an unnecessary long gather?

          - Will you get that 'knocked out of the air' motion taking you out of your block animation...this happens no matter the size of the offensive player

          - Will you take the wrong angle and jump right out of be okay? Again, BALL TRACKING. it's been done well before, let's get it back

While you shouldn't be able to block every shot, it shouldn't have to be a perfect storm either...

His name is literally Dominant Big and his join date is August 2015 so I just assumed he made the account for the sole purpose of trying to start a flame war and have been ignoring him.

It also seems he only comments on the two threads I've made (the other one being that 2K needs to work on the mechanics for big men) so that just piles on with the other evidence of him trying to bait people into fighting in the "big men" threads.

I'm on pc but has anyone turned the block slider up to 100?

Its working alright for me. Of course they'll need to whatever they did before but this is working alright for me on superstar

Don't know about online but I've seen more just by doing that offline.

I don't 2K will ever go back to a game that has a steep learning curve. They are getting bigger and are more about the $$$ now. And this is also why I think we will never again get a game that is really legit defensively.

2K14 on last gen was a defensive masterpiece....but 2K14 next gen IMO did not reflect that same type of gameplay. I remember LD2K raving about 2K14 last gen's gameplay but they only made that one more realistic because they knew the casuals would pick up the next gen copy because of the graphics etc.

The legitimacy of the defense has nothing to do with pleasing casuals.

The truth is that balancing a game is a lot of hard work. It is just flat difficult to do. Deisgning and implementing this stuff takes a lot of coordinated teamwork.

Sometimes you nail it and sometimes you don't.

Everything in the game is constantly changing. One build you have it nailed but then something changes somewhere else and now your back at stage 1.

Things are much less about conspiracy against eperienced users and more about the craft of designing and implementing a game design in a tight window.

Everything has to lineup and then you have to be lucky and then something unexpected can still happen like a bug etc.

So just my experienced 2 cents on that one. I have never been in a single meeting where it was implied let's remove all defense and make a one sided game. These are terribly complex moving interconnected parts fam. It is not easy. If it were the perfect game would have been made by now.

Well said. From a fan stand point its hard to see how difficult is to create and balance something like NBA 2K. Appreciate the post.
