Re: NBA 2K16 Developer Blog - MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online, MyGM & More
Please skip this particular post if you don't want to read "concern" about this extraordinary and absolutely welcome reveal.
Haven't read everything, but coming across the following two features have me questioning whether team 2k could have gone further.
City Selection
The first step in any Team Relocation is deciding where you want to move the franchise to. This is a big decision. We have created complete metro profiles for most of the big North American cities.
Team Relocation in MyLEAGUE
As you all know, MyLEAGUE is our ‘sandbox’ franchise mode, where anything goes. In this experience, you will be able to rebrand and relocate teams without the requirement of going through the application, voting, and approval process. If you want to move the Thunder to Seattle, you can do that right away. Go ahead, no one is going to stop you!
Having been born and bread in the Bay Area, I adopted the Golden State Warriors as my team. But a second team in Seattle with Gary Payton, Detlef Schrempf, Sam Perkins, and the absolutely beast of the monster dunker Shawn Kemp was ridiculously fun to watch whenever I got the chance, however seldom that may be. I can't help but feel for the basketball fans of Seattle.
Having said that, I also can't help but feel for the city of Oklahoma. The Thunders have established themselves as a force in the NBA with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. I can't imagine the league without the Thunders. How am I going to rip the hearts out from the fans of OKC and relocate the Thunders to Seattle? Sure, some owner did it to Seattle years ago, but we don't need a repeat scenario especially not when the Thunders are a force in the league.
Why didn't someone in the offices of 2K strongly push for BOTH team expansion AND team relocation? What they have seemingly done is "half-butt" this feature so to speak, albeit an extraordinary feature.
Unfortunately, I don't see myself using the "team relocation" feature. I simply don't have the heart to crush the hearts of current establish team fanbase. Had a "team expansion" feature been implemented, you would be damn sure the Seattle Supersonics would be ADDED to the existing league leaving the Thunders intact exactly where they belong -- in OKC.

Yeah, absolutely. The tools allow a crazy amount of customization. Create college teams or download/share them with others. It also lets you relocate teams right away and control all teams, so I don't see why not! So pumped!Comment

The question is can a certain team be relocated to absolutely ANY city in the United States or are we restricted to select cities dictated by 2k? If the gamer wanted to move a team to Bakersfield, or Walnut Creek, or Concord, or Daly City, or Redwood City, or Alameda California is that possible?
But what if I wanted to keep the Thunder and the rest of the league as is, AND want to reintroduce the Seattle Supersonics into the league? Each and every single time I read the word "relocation," all I can think about is "we need team expansion AND team relocation."

I'll be content with no offseason 4 2k16. I want the full off season experience in 17. That's the point of a OAL. Point of making my league n my gm. To experience how it feels managing a franchise. Managing a league. Thank u 4 adding half the experience but want the whole experience. Offseason and allComment

Re: NBA 2K16 Developer Blog - MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online, MyGM & More
As I keep thinking about the MyLeague online without an offseason it's get worst. No players progression or regression so no reason to draft young. No FA, so no reason to draft cheap players because they will never leave. Offline league get gold again and online league get bronze.
I knew something had to give. 2K added too much in one cycle. Hopefully League online will finally be upgraded in 2k17.Last edited by Dlee3; 08-19-2015, 03:20 PM.Comment
