Re: An In-Depth Look at the Changes to the NBA 2K16 Ratings System
Shouldn't they do Eras instead of HOF overall? Great rebounder back then might not be as good as a rebounder now. Or the other way around, maybe I'm missing something.
I also feel that most of the best rebounders like Rodman should be irritant, have that personality of an aggressive rebounder to go along with their rating. If they could some how take the mental aspect of the game and coincide it with the ratings system, they could be onto something. Maybe have ratings fluctuate throughout the game based on what's going on. If Rodman is playing aggressive grabbing 18 rebounds in a game, you should see that effect on the opposing player bringing that rating down. I think we could have a realistic approach that way. NOt sure how if can be implemented, it's just an idea.
New system looks interesting though. I'm just thinking out loudComment

I've very pleased with this rating scale. It should balance the game tremendously, no need for there to be a guy on every squad with a +90 mid-range game when it's not true from a historical perspective.
I love it. 2K16 seems to be an all out monster.Comment

Very interesting. Definitely liking what I'm seeing but the only killer for me is LBJ at a 94 and KD at a 91. No way should there be a three rating gap between those two unless their ratings are evaluated off of their careers. When healthy, KD is the best player on the planet, IMO. They should both be a 94 or KD should be a point higher.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

well he's one of the best all time at getting to the line.. only 14 ppl have attempted more than 824 fta in a season (Harden's numbers in 2014-15).. so yeah, that makes sense..Comment

Re: An In-Depth Look at the Changes to the NBA 2K16 Ratings System
Hahaha Thank god it's your opinion. LeBron James just carried his team to the finals. And he balled or of his mind. And your saying KD who didn't make the playoffs, was injured for most of the season and finally hasn't won the big one yet. I don't think they should be tied.
...carried or strolled?
Balled out of his mind ooooor shot TERRIBLY overall and HISTORICALLY bad from three...like worst ever?Comment

Yea if you can't admit that LeBron is the best player in the nba right now. I don't need to explain. Just keep believing yourself. And then trying to compare him to someone who barely played last season. It's not even a contest hahaha.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: An In-Depth Look at the Changes to the NBA 2K16 Ratings System
The only thing that will be subjective is the rebounds and some of the ratings. There are not stats for everything that dates way back say past 1982 or 81 for rebounds. They didn't have rebound % at least on basketball-reference.com. Do a search for Wilt Chamberlain and you will notice he was averaging 27 rebounds/g but they don't have separate stats for offense and defense rebounds.
Also things like blocks were not recorded way back when I think they started recording that in 1974, so it will be interesting how Beds rate great centers who were shot blockers but there is no data to back it up.
Overall this sounds like it will be very good though and what he is saying sounds like they eliminated some known cheesy animations.Comment

Re: An In-Depth Look at the Changes to the NBA 2K16 Ratings System
The thing about the foul rate thing specifically Harden I hope they gave Harden specific animations. He uses the one move where he places his arms under the defender and throws his hands up. Dude is a master at drawing contact, combine that with a nasty handle and he is tough to stop.Comment

No way to tell unless someone can watch game film to figure out the difference between OFF/DEFF, but either way, not hard to imagine Chamberlain and Russell (et al) being superior rebounders to Rodman.
Also, Rodman only had sustained elite level rebounding for 7 seasons. Chamberlain and Russell were well over 10+ seasons at that level.NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves

Yes. Harden, among players all time, is ELITE at getting to the FT line in ANY period of the NBA. Elite. Jordan, Jerry West, Chamberlain, Malone, Robertson, Malone.NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves

The news keeps getting better.
Every sports game needs to follow a HOF scale, but I am thinking of one in particular.Comment
