Re: What are your top 10 hopes and concerns for NBA 2k16? For #Simnation Hangout
Question for whatever 2k dev or community guy visits this thread: Will online user controlled defender Icons/indicators be on xbox 1 this year. This has been missing from 2k since nextgen started but present on PS4. This is necessity in some leagues.
PS4- you can see user defenders
Xbox one- cannot see user defneer
Us guys on XBOX would love for this to return this year for online play.Comment

I forgot to ask this in the chat on Friday, will there be on-ball defensive shading? It would be great for this to be included as you can try and dictate which direction you want to influence an offensive player to go.
Another hope would be slight improvements in PnR play:
1. Attacking pick and roll closer to the screener's body. The only way to create favorable angles it seems is to go wide on PnR's when you can take a tighter angle like this (go to 1:53 mark) -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxWBMxwNRgQ
2. Splitting PnRs like this (starts at 0:15 mark) -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sua9u318wGo
If you tried to replicate the moves in the video from step 2 in 2k15, it would result in a lot of turnovers. Maybe there can be a dribbling modifier of some sorts so your player will make tighter dribbling moves in smaller spaces instead of doing a wide crossover in traffic.
Do you think a dribbling modifier would be too much?PSN: Los_X23

Right now the controls are based on this "pre-load" model and I hate it. Every other competitive game has instant response with controls, down to the frame. This allows the players to have real mind games, because the controls are trying their best to move at the speed of thought and sight.Comment

Re: What are your top 10 hopes and concerns for NBA 2k16? For #Simnation Hangout
I may be in the minority on this, but I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks.
I feel like the players are too big in relation to the rest of the court. They simply take up too much space.
A lot of people complain about defenders being able to close out, but I always feel like it has more to do with their character models being so big rather than them being too fast.
It would be nice to be able to shoot a 3 from the corner and actually not have my player have both of his feet on the line.Comment

That's weird because I thought last year in 2K15 player models were too small/skinny. I love the body scans this year. They really make the players look more proportioned to their real life counterparts. I think the player models are just right compared to the court size this year. If you've ever been to a live NBA game, the court is a lot smaller in real life than it looks on TV. I always tell people this when they suggest players are too big compared to the court.Comment

I WOULD like to see the CPU use different matchups than the traditional, PG vs PG, SG vs SG. I would love to see a Wizards vs. Orlando game and the CPU put their SF Mo Harkless on Bradley Beal. Or to see them put LeBronze on Rose or something like that. That never happens. I actually use the 2nd controller and make adjustments like that FOR the computer because I know they don't do it.Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Re: What are your top 10 hopes and concerns for NBA 2k16? For #Simnation Hangout
going into 2k16, i'm hoping they stick to what works and don't overhaul anything about the game from 2k15. 2k15 was the first version where i didn't have any major complaints about any particular aspect of the game. every part of the game worked well (not perfect, but no one area was broken or made me want to stop playing...and most years, there's always at least one thing about the game that makes me stop playing it a few months in.) i hope they stick with what they had in 2k15 and just continue to tweak what needs improvement and leave alone the areas that already work. my fear every year is that the devs get too caught up in trying to "change and add new" things that they end up ruining an aspect of the game that already worked fine.
similar to OP, my only real desire for improvement is that the control responsiveness feels a bit quicker and more explosive - it feels good in 2k15, but there is a bit of a delay when controlling your player (although i don't know if there's any way they can even fix that, as the delay could be caused by all of the "multiple functions" they now have tied to the sticks and buttons, which does lead to input delay..but i can live with the slight delay, as the control scheme works well and the delay isn't enough to really hurt the game in my opinion...if the delay is necessary to have the current controls, then i'll live with the delay).Last edited by blues rocker; 08-31-2015, 12:50 PM.Comment

I hope everything is improved upon and balanced out. the thins they couldn't get to, put it in a patch that hopefully won't mess up aspects of the game/gameplay.
all offensive moves have a defensive counter. space and speed should matter.Comment

I would like to be able to import my myplayer to other offline games modes. It would be cool to be able to play my league and import your myplayer character and control every aspect of your league while still being able to get that my career experience with the player lock featureComment

Re: What are your top 10 hopes and concerns for NBA 2k16? For #Simnation Hangout
I just hope the game will reward intelligent basketball more...
I hate it when I spot a guy making a backdoor cut and I throw the ball to him with perfect timing, the ball gets through the defenders and reaches my guy under the basket, it should be an easy bucket... but for some reason my guy can't receive the pass properly, he struggles for a few seconds to take control of the ball, you all know that stupid ball catching animation... Meanwhile the defense is settled and a good opportunity to score is lost...
Also hate it when anticipation doesn't matter in certain scenarios. I read the opponents play, I see the pass coming from miles away, I position myself perfectly to intercept the pass... but I can't because I press the steal button a few milliseconds late (or early), which happens a lot in online games.
And anyone can tell me why did they remove the "total control passing" feature? In certain situations lead pass is just not enough... For instance, when the opponent is playing off-ball D and manually denying the ball to one of my players (standing in the passing lane to intercept my pass),I want to be able to take control of the player he's denying , and make a cut to the basket... I know you can make guys cut by play calling, but you could do it much more easily and the cuts more accurately with total control passing.Last edited by PandaPower2k; 09-01-2015, 05:16 AM.Steam(EU): PandaPowerComment
