The only new classic team that got totally gutted was the 04 pistons. Rasheed was the only big name missing. Even the 00 Blazers seem to have everyone else.

Actually, the 71 bucks and 87 lakers are complete again, plus the 01 Sixers finally have eric snow next to iverson.

Oh for sure, just pointing out that for half the year, this was the top half of that Pistons team.

Unfortunately, even if they were going the "pre-deadline" route, they'd still be missing their primary center before the deal (Mehmet Okur). On top of that, Sixth Man of the Year (2002) Corliss Williamson, Bobby Sura, and Chucky Atkins are all missing on top of that (if they were trying to go for the pre-deadline thing).

So I mean it nicely (and not as an "I gotcha" type of thing) but it's not really a post-deadline roster and it's not really a pre-deadline roster either. They're both equally begging.

Still, as I've said throughout, I can work with it. Assuming the court art is mostly right, I'll take 7 players from that squad over none at all.

Oh I know about the role players, but this isn't about them since most could care less about them. It's about the names people remember mostly and the top part of the rotation is pretty much there outside of Sheed. If Sheed was in, this thread wouldn't even be here. Oh I know about the role players, but this isn't about them since most could care less about them. It's about the names people remember mostly and the top part of the rotation is pretty much there outside of Sheed. If Sheed was in, this thread wouldn't even be here. Anyways, it sucks Sheed isn't in the game. I wanted to play my friend online who loves the Pistons but it just wouldn't be the same without Sheed. Really wish I knew some of the reasons these players don't make it into the game.

You can try to twist it into some odd semantics battle, but you'd still be wrong as the way a product is promoted is still encompassed in its marketing strategy.

So yea, 2k has been promoting classic teams and classic teams are part of the game's marketing strategy as well.

No matter what you say, it was still pretty disingenuous of 2k not to mention that Sheed wasn't on the Trailblazers or the Pistons. Why not have Ronnie 2k announce that Sheed isn't in the game? Shouldn't be too hard.

Would you be annoyed if 2k said the 1998 Bulls were in the game but they didn't include Jordan or Pippen? Yea, you would. Because those teams aren't the same without those two players.

I get them not mentioning the absence lesser known role players, but Sheed is one of the key cogs on both of those teams and unfortunately, those teams won't be used very much with him (at least by me they won't).

I'm not tryna twist anything, and if you wanna go that route then isn't the point of marketing and promotion to get you to buy whatever it is they are marketing to you? Well, if my job is to do that why the hell would I say "hey I put this in but, this is missing but buy it anyway." His job isn't to give you every detail, his job is to get as much hype as possible for the game to generate sales. If you want to sit there and get upset like it's some mass conspiracy to conceal Sheed didn't want to be apart of the game go right ahead. At the end of the day the 2000 Blazers and 2004 Pistons ARE in the game, just because they are missing a significant player doesn't mean they aren't. You wanna use the Bulls as an example, well I'll use the 87 Lakers. They have been in for years and haven't had Cap since 2k12 until this year, but does that mean they lied about the 87 Lakers? Come on man.

For once I have to have agree with a Lakers fan...LOL. But the biggest reason is money. Another one is maybe they hate the league for one reason or another.

Nah I was talking about Lakers24...but I still agree with you. And I think it depends on the guy really. Lakers24 said earlier in the thread that MJ has a minimum of 1 million for likeness. And Barkley took 50K just for the Dream Team.

It's not a lie. It's called a bait and switch. Transparent would be releasing the names of confirmed guys in each team.
