Re: My Player Attributes
(Repost from a different thread, some of this has already been addressed here)
EDIT: My comment about wait and see went out of the window when yonly1ME showed the achievement that was the same exact one from 2k15Here's a screen shot of the boost categories.

So like a previous poster mentioned, here's the boosts. As you can see jump shooter bucket still has close shots.
Last year the attributes matched these categories. LD2k said there's 3 different scoring types now (inside, outside, balanced). I'm inclined to wait and see, especially the way the described the limits your player can have depending on his height and position. Some of the stuff he described would be impossible if the attribute groups are still the way they were in 2k15. Like say if you're a certain height your ballhandling is capped lower...since ballhanding is also grouped with passing, does that mean all bigs we create are going to be crappy passers? That outlet passer badge in 2k15 required passing to be a certain level so will that make it near impossible to have outlet passer badge with a 7 footer?
Like I said, we should wait and see. I would like to hope that all these things have been thought out thoroughly but it's not beyond 2k to have a glaring oversight like this....
EDIT AGAIN: You know what scratch that, there is a way that I think this could work.Last edited by iLLosophy; 09-19-2015, 07:47 PM.Comment

Re: My Player Attributes
does anyone think this can be fixed within this year? Or will we have to deal with this till 2k17?Comment
-
Re: My Player Attributes
Well Im sure they could fix it but I doubt they will, since it would cause all kinds of problems with people who have already bought attributes through the package and then they cap it another way.
People would also have high ratings in areas they didnt want and blame 2k if they change so you only have to upgrade what you need.
So if they are gonna change this it would be with a day 1 patch or never.Comment

Re: My Player Attributes
It could all be so simple
But thats not even the point. It's about having the control over what you want your player to specialize in and be good or bad at. If they add the ability to upgrade individual attributes in January I would make a new my player just to take advantage of it and create the player I actually want.Comment

Re: My Player Attributes
They wouldn't even have to remove the current system just add the other system so we can have options. That way you don't run into that many problems and people who want to use that system they canWell Im sure they could fix it but I doubt they will, since it would cause all kinds of problems with people who have already bought attributes through the package and then they cap it another way.

Re: My Player Attributes
Not a mode killer for me, but it would be a little disappointing. I would rather boost individually so I can have a unique playstyle. I would like to have weaknesses with my game. Like I would want a my Athletic PG with a decent 3pt game, but a suspect mid range game. Or my big PF with a good Mid range game with a terrible 3ptComment

Re: My Player Attributes
That is essentially a new feature. Patches tend to only address bugs and inbalances in systems already setup. A patch might adjust the formula of how much each attribute bucket increases the specific attributes (e.g. go from +3 to +4), but it's not going to change the functionality - which is what you are asking for.Comment

Re: My Player Attributes
It can be fixed this year. Will they do it? Not a chance.
We will have to deal with this until 2k17.
What would happen if you create a MyPlayer before this adjustment? Would you have to make everyone wait to play to adjust the attribute system? Plus it looks like you can still "buy your player" on the first day.
I wish it was individual attributes but I highly doubt they'll change it this iteration.PSN: Los_X23
MLB: New York Mets
NBA: New York Knicks
NCAAF: Buffalo Bulls, Michigan Wolverines, Miami Hurricanes
NCAAM: Buffalo Bulls, Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: My Player Attributes
Just a question, but does anyone actually know for certain that upgrading attributes this year is the same as the boosts are?Comment

Re: My Player Attributes
They don't have to completely change it but if they could add the ability to upgrade individual attributes while keeping the other system and not causing any issues with adaptability or adjustment. It can be fixed this year. Will they do it? Not a chance.

Re: My Player Attributes
This is so disappointing. The 2K15 attribute upgrade system made no sense and defied common sense.
Why do I have to become good at shooting 3 pointers off the dribble with my Center if I just want to become good at Free Throws? WHY???
Who in the world thought this was a good idea?
We need to go back to the individual attribute upgrade system. Period.Comment
