Can we please get a photo of James Johnson of the raptors. Or at least confirmation that he looks like himself this year? I was shocked last year that they never did update his hair style, which was drastically incorrect, didn't give him a headband, or his throat tattoo "MAYMIN "

You will play your first NBA game as a 55 overall player if you choose not to buy vc off the rip.

It says I played 29 games but I only played 2 and I'm on my third game now. So I figure rookie of the year is out the question for anyone.

Based on past games, it should be very cheap to upgrade enough attributes to get to the mid-70s. Everyone playing on Friday will have 10k vc to burn. As long as you don't sink it all in one place, you can likely start as a pretty decent rookie.

Beginning the game with an overpowered player IS taking the controller away from you. It's just easier to pretend the success is due to your superior skill and not the fact your player is almost fail proof.

Hopefully in the future the mode will be expanded to allow full HS and college seasons to allow player to develop more by draft time. This is absolutely the groundwork for a more spectacular my career mode, though.

Whatever point you start from, it should be from rock bottom. You should have to earn your higher rating.

I get where he's coming from though.

Last year it was impossible to win ROY because the story was that you were an undrafted player and all that and were signed at the half of the season.

So it feels like once again for whatever reason your player is missing the start of the season. It does take control from the player.

Compared to older MyCareer's on past gen where you worked for your draft position and felt like you were working your way up through the league.

That is the downside to all this story stuff. It's nice but it does take control away from the player. Personally I'd prefer Highschool be a full high-school season to determine what college you go to or something. I loved how it used to be that if you played bad you could start in the NBDL.

I'm curious about all this 29 games played business and how it relates to the story. It would be cool if that's because of decisions he made in the story (if you even have the options to make decisions) or whatever. It's a bit worrying that the story part seems to leak out into your NBA career. Guess I'll just have to find out when I get the game.

I don't get it why are all of you freaking out. He's 55 rated. He sucks. He's literally worse guard than Jimmer Fredette. By 11 points. Would you play a 55 rated scrub on your team in MyLeague or MyTeam when you have better players? I hope that with better rating comes more playing time.
