Re: NBA 2K16 Available Today, Post Your Impressions Here

I hope this question is suitable for this thread. I've really only been an mlb the show gamer the last few years on the PS3. I always buy nba2k and every time i wind up disappointed in the game play. controls feel clunky. it's just awful.

the videos for this game look awesome and i want to buy it. I will also be buying a new console. What's the best console to play this game on, XBoxOne or PS4, and why? If i could be convinced that the game play is exactly the same on both i'd lean PS4, but if it's clearly better on XBoxONe then i'll go that direction...

can anyone offer up some help/advice/opinions on this topic?

    thanks

It's about the same on both consoles. Controller preference and friends/online is your deciding factor.

But, I will say, if you thought 2k in the past had clunky controls, I'm not sure this game changes that.

I'm not entirely happy about the CPU Point guards having this insane ability to zip passes from the perimeter to a well-guarded big man under the basket with ease. It's impossible to stop. It's just an easy two points for the CPU.

Maybe it's just an AS and above problem. I don't know but to Pro I go before that thing frustrates me to the point I don't care about the good in the game.
Yeah, I noticed this on AS too, PG's passing beyond the 3 pt line and zipping to a big man cutting under the hoop always open.

Back to pro for me, too.

I've tried points in the paint emphasis and that doesn't seem to help.

Also, lots of "jumping for a layup, perfect behind the back pass to a big after his defender left him for a block attempt" passing in the game.

Pro isn't easy. You have to stop CPU runs and adjust

Am I the only one realizing that the three-ball is nearly impossible online? I'm wide open plenty of times with good three shooters and can't get a single bucket. Literally like 20 percent from the three point line. Not just me, my opponent as well.

Right now, I love the mechanics, but the 2K15 gameplay is much more better. Hopefully they can fix this with a patch... can't get a three to save my life.

I've played about 15 games. All with different teams. And it didn't occur to me that I was playing on Pro. Because all the games were really close at one point. that turned into a blow out or I was blown out. I've had every single kind of game expect a buzzer beater game winner.

i had the game since friday here are some Quick thoughts:

Love the gameplay./ presentation and atmosphere is crazy / and love advancements on The franchise mode

Only huge negative I see and the reason I havent picked up this game since 2k13.

is that the Virtual Currency model is still horrible. and I wonder I havent heard much about this. (Maybe I just have noticed)

Micro transactions as a whole on full priced retail games are insane.
"This game, and series, has nothing but contempt for you (now)"

Once again they have Giannis too dark in the game. He should be the same skin tone as Jabari for the most part. Also, this is Jabari's and MCW's hair as of today. The cream on the unis should be lighter as well. In-game it's more tan looking. Please, please patch this. Thanks.

Yep, I've enjoyed blowing an opponent away, cause it shows me that there's not some BS "catch-up" code that so many seem to think exists.

Had the game since Friday and it is awesome!

Love the fluidity of the game, the animations and heaviness of players all bring a different dynamic to the game. Love the body contact down low, really makes you finish drives to the basket and use the contact to put your shot off the glass or directly in the cup.

I enjoy the freelance offense. Haven't turned on the play art to see exactly what's going on, but as I've seen the computer does a good job of setting off ball screens and getting open for a shot, or it'll create just enough space for me to cross up a defender and make the next best move. Love that I have to make a quick decision when I do get an inch on a defender.

I greatly appreciate the foot planting mechanics and just the entire beauty of the game. 2nd best sports game I've ever played (behind CH2K8 - ahead of it's time).

                          Only things I don't like:

SIM Stats out of the box. I play 12 minute quarters and I still am having trouble getting the right amount of shots (80 - 90 per team) or 3 pointers per game. I'm sure there are other stats that make a difference, but these are two of the ones that I don't like because they greatly affect the score of the game.

Also, the resigning logic. I don't want LeBron to sign with the Bucks and Wade to retire a Hornet... I'd like a little more realism in MyGM, and a little more control over everyone else to avoid this type of madness from happening.

So the SIM engine could use a little more work, but overall this is as good of a basketball game as I've ever seen. Thoroughly enjoying it and don't think I'll be playing anything else for a while now.

Oh, Online matchups have been solid as well. No lag. And cheesers are killed by true sim ballers.

Thanks 2K, you've been good to the kid this year!

There never was one. People just don't know about adjusting. Or expect the first 3 quarters to be played the same way as the 4th quarter.

If I keep having the experiences I have. I will stay on this level. I remember when I was a hardcore Hall of Fame guy. But I think it was last year. Where I stop playing because the CPU would cheat too much. But lets see how it works out.

CMH, I moved down to pro, put man def done to 20, upped help defense to 80, and put CPU awareness and Def Awarness at 80.
