I agree there are too many Pips. There's good rotation in the perimeter but it seems to be slow when a guy reaches the paint. You don't see help defenders step in to take a charge, or help with hands up. Far too much one on one play in the paint.

And when you front a guy, no one rotates when the lob comes up top. Just daylight for the offensive player.

It gets abused by both sides of the ball, cpu or user.

There are good misses when contended. Love that. But not enough challenges when a simple rotation would resolve that.

It also seems that the corner three is dead again. It came back in 2k15 but passing to the corner on the drive is nonexistent. Disappointing.

I think the lack of help D and lack of corner 3s are very closely connected.

It's a little annoying to see 50+ points in the paint being scored every game.
Points in the paint were always one of my biggest issues with 2k. But this year things are looking good. Most of my games both me and cpu score less than half of the total points, in the paint. And I had a game where cpu scored only 20 points in the paint out of 100 plus!. Same game cpu attempted 27 3p.

Easily the 3rd best game and the best sports game I've ever played. I gave it an 8.5 out 10

If they were able to clean up the wide open big men in the paint, teammates getting destroyed on backdoor cuts, fast break defense and help defense timing this game would be perfection in terms of gameplay.

However, I really dislike how I cannot warmup/look at heat maps. Scoring is noticeably harder than last year and the only place I can discern to practice is the blacktop. Which is way easier than in-game anyway.

So that's a feature that's really annoying to find absent.

I was kind of shocked to read this. Because I haven't scored that much in the paint. Last night I played my first game vs A human online. And even online I missed way more than vs the Cpu offline in the lane. Even my opponent missed a few shots in the lane.

Love this game. I just finished the first full season of my career and one gripe that I have was my team only wore their alternate jerseys once.

Even though I've had great success online (13-2 at the moment), there is just way too much cheese to bear. Much of it is not the users fault, it's actually things in the game that need to be fixed.

For some reason the opposing bigs are always all the way down court running ahead of the defense, even if you instruct your team in POE to limit transition, it doesn't help much. When getting back down court the AI seems clueless as to whom to pick up, and people can pretty much have free reign holding down turbo and throwing hail mary outlet passes.

In one of the two games I lost, a Houston Rockets user was down 15 points against me to start the 4th. He decided that it was in his best interest to call a pick and roll with Motiejunas every time down the floor, and I couldn't do anything to stop it. It wasn't because I didn't know how, its just that with the added lag online, your players simply slide out of the way and can never recover in time, and Motie had a nice time slowly trotting down to the basket for one open dunk after another. It was infuriating to watch this because I earned that win and he cheated his way to a comeback victory.

Another issue is that even if it doesn't always work, turboing down the sideline/baseline is still completely in this year. Throw one quick pass to your PG on an inbounds, another quick pass to half court, and your swings are already jetting down the sides for open dunks before the defense is set.

I don't know why it's not really being addressed anywhere in the reviews, but online cheese is still as bad as ever.

Re: NBA 2K16 Available Today, Post Your Impressions Here

I'm loving Hall of Fame this year. No, I haven't won a game yet, but the losses are so satisfying because the CPU is beating me fair and square. I typically play with Tier 3 teams, and I always go against Tier 1 teams. I do this every year to get better at the game.

In previous years, I felt that although the CPU had a better team than me, it still had to resort to cheapness to win. That's not the case this year. With my current slider settings, I can not only force the HoF CPU into bad shots, but I'm also always rewarded with the miss. The CPU still beats me, though, because it's able to force me into bad shots and with better players, they can hit more open shots. I haven't played the HoF CPU with an even team yet, but this is the first year that I feel I stand a realistic chance of winning by just playing good basketball.

I played a game against the Spurs this morning, using the Portland Trailblazers. I lost 95-113, and I used these slider adjustments:

                  - Driving contact and inside contact on zero for both CPU and me. All defensive strength sliders (both release and gather) were set to 100. Every other slider was left at 50.

I play on 12-minute quarters, and the final stats came down like this:

                  Points - Spurs, 113 - Blazers, 95
                  Field Goals - Spurs, 46/105 (44%) - Blazers, 37/92 (40%)
                  3 Pointers - Spurs, 10/25 (40%) - Blazers, 3/11 (27%)
                  Free Throws - Spurs, 11/13 (85%) - Blazers, 18/20 (90%)
                  Fast Break Points - Spurs, 21 - Blazers, 14
Points in the Paint - Spurs, 40 - Blazers, 54
                  Second Chance Points - Spurs, 4 - Blazers, 7
                  Bench Points - Spurs, 32 - Blazers, 24
                  Assists - Spurs, 35 - Blazers, 20
                  Offensive Rebounds - Spurs, 7 - Blazers, 5
                  Defensive Rebounds - Spurs, 49 - Blazers, 51
                  Steals - Spurs, 13 - Blazers, 8
                  Blocks - Spurs, 4 - Blazers, 14
                  Turnovers - Spurs, 9 - Blazers, 15
                  Team Fouls - Spurs, 11, Blazers, 9
                  Biggest Lead - Spurs, 22 - Blazers, 5
                  Time of Possession - Spurs, 23:23 - Blazers, 24:36

Both Damian Lilliard and Tony Parker had triple doubles. Lilliard led all scorers with 35.

                  Some more notes...

                  - Kawhi Leonard is the real deal on this game defensively. I love how the CPU assigned him to guard Lilliard most of the time. I had a much harder time getting penetration with him on me versus Tony Parker.

                  - With the defensive contact sliders on zero, there is less superficial contact on drives and shots in the paint. However, having the defensive strength sliders maxed out makes it really hard to make buckets in traffic as well as well-contested jumpers. I'm loving the fact that I have to run a good offense to score. I'm also loving the fact that I can make the CPU miss (even when they have a star players) by playing good defense. I don't recall the CPU making a single shot on me that was well-contested. I'm finally rewarded for playing good defense.

Now I just have to get better at executing on both ends to really compete against the better teams on this level.
According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.

One thing I've noticed that I don't really care for is pretty much every layup (banked or not) is nothing but net. Ball doesn't even touch the rim.

Really ? I've had a lot of layups roll around the rim.

OK... So I started playing online.... In ranked games.... I know I know... You can't expect much to change. But I played about 6 games. I played with the Kings. The first game was a really great experience. The second was too. But then it all started going down hill. The next guy I played. Was lagging the whole first half. He said he didn't notice it. Harden took 40 shots.... Smh...And he won by one. Then the next guy also picked the Kings. He didn't want to quit because he would get the lost.

Yeah, almost all of my layups and floaters are swishes, or swishes off the backboard. (no sliders)

Yeah, the crowd becomes extremely lively in certain arenas under the right conditions, definitely underrated by many IMO.

the defense is pissing me off more then ever. Don't see how ppl can say defense is good this year. Your CPU controlled teammates are doing dumb things. I'm playing the hawks right now and during a lot of transitions my SG gets lost and leaves Kyle Korver wide open. The SG sits their staring at the other teams PG while I'm guarding him happened multiple times already. Also the CPU teammates leave the paint open for easy lay ups and dunks. For some reason my bigs will let their man get right in front of them for an easy lay up or dunk. This may be the year where you have to babysit your bigs.
