it now seems like everybody wonts everything in 2k16 patched out......game plays dang good...

The closest thing I've seen to perfect. As of now, I don't want them to touch a THING. This game is truly an amazing interpretation of basketball right now.

In regards to this issue, I don't see anything wrong man, slow defenders? Perhaps it's something I just haven't noticed. But again, I'm always getting back on defense for this very reason, it was ingrained in me as a PG when I play ball for real and it translates.

I need video man. In this day and age, there's no way you guys should be posting these complaints without some viable means of proof to go with it.

if you are the spurs slow down the pace grind it every play....use the shot clock make him work for every shot...

I REALLY hope this isn't the case. Personally, I haven't tried this in online games, because I had assumed it would be thrown out of bounds. However, I usually pass it to George Hill, and I run a 2 or 3 on 1 fastbreak, so I don't have to rely on cherry picking.

I understand it's somewhat part of the game, but how often to do you really see touchdown passes from the PF/C to the backcourt players? There's a reason why frontcourt players don't have high assist numbers per year. It's been a LOOOONNNNNNGGGG time since I have seen this problem. However, I absolutely HATED the experience. It forces your offense to play near perfect basketball (assuming that you don't resort to the same tactic). Cheeseheads would take off as soon as the ball was in the air, because defensive rebounds are grabbed at a MUCH higher rate than offensive rebounds. They would grab the rebound, and then chuck it to the other side. If was a power dunker, then you was basically screwed. That's assuming that they didn't throw a pump fake at you, and you go sailing by.

It was difficult to defend, because it was hard to catch/deflect the pass out of the air even when you KNEW it was coming. Then comes the next step of the cheddar process...UNREALISTIC LINEUPS!!!! Once/If people start to notice this exploit, don't be surprised if you start seeing lineups where they put PFs at the SF spot. At that point, they don't care about scoring in the half-court set. They're only care about getting the rebound and getting the easy cherry pick. On the ball defense....WON'T happen, because people will rely on the AI to do it for them this year especially considering how people are already complaining about it being "too hard" to get pass the CPU. I remember playing against this nonsense back in the day (can't remember which year it was) where people would do this tactic on EVERY possession. It wasn't uncommon to see a FG% above 70 with this tactic.

I don't care what anyone says. If this exploit is possible, then it needs to patched or addressed.

Fast breaks are overpowered compared to real life, but they are still OP in real life too

I doubt this is the case. I've seen little substance of true cherrypicking. Ironically enough, cherry picking is a legitimate strategy though.

I'm pretty sure it was the Kings owner or vlade divac who suggested that the Kings play 4 on 5 on defense so that they could always have someone standing by the basket for an easy fast break or cherry pick

In real NBA life, cherrypicking is a legitimate strategy, of course. But, NBA teams don't run cherrypicking in every single possession because it's highly ineffective.

Why? Because in real life defenders go back as quick as the cherrypicker, so the cherrypicker will have a well contested shot in the other side.

Because in real life, defensers running back on D are quick and fast. But in 2k16, the defenders run back too slow and unrealistically glued, so they will NEVER catch-up the cherrypicker no matter how great your D strategy is.

7 out of 10 Online games i'm experiencing this exploit. Cheesers are abusing it. No matter how good defense i put, or how well a put my coaching settings or defense emphasis or "limit transition",etc etc etcccc,,, my opponents cherry pickers are wayyyyy too fast and my defense is tooooo LOW to get back into the paint to stop the cherry pick.

The root of the problem is: long football passes are way too accurate and unrealistic.

This MUST be patched ASAP. It is destroying the SIM experience for Online mode. By the way, I think this is the only exploit I've found so far.

The patch shall:

1- increase the Defense speed in order to get back soon and stop the cherry picker.

2- decrease (or eliminate to a decent extent) the accuracy of those long football passes which feed the cherry pick.

I know people will start arguing: "so if the cheeser if cherrypicking, it means its a 5 vs 4 mismatch so there shouldn't be a problem"

But the problem is: the cheeser is playing 5 vs. 5, but AS SOON AS I shoot (and my opponent sees the ball taking off my player's hand), the cheeser pick up IMMEDIATELY the player closer to the halfcourt line in order to commence the cherrypick. If I miss the shot,,,,BANG!!!!!!!,,,he throws the unrealistic 100% accurate football pass and guess what??? easy 2pts.

I've tried all defense strategies, and don't work.

This is destroying the Online Quick Rank Matches SIM experience. This is the new exploit of the year. I thought it was corrected in 2k12. By the way, the last time i saw effective cherrypicking and unrealistic football passes was in 2k12 Online Mode.

The problem is that my defender is not as quick as the cherrypicking, so its impossible to catch the cherrypicker up.
It feels like the system recognizes the cherrypicking as it would be a fast break, so it feels like the cherrypicker player gets a speed boost that supersedes my defense players speed.

Try it and you will see!!!

And as posted earlier, if the cherrypicker is a power dunker or guys like Lebron/Durant/Melo playing like PG all game long, then you are DONE.

Bottomline, the HUGE difference in speed and quickness to respond and counter the cherrypicking is causing problems.

I'm experiencing something different then. I've caught up to a few cherry pickers this year, especially with someone with chase down artist or fast enough to stop them. I just feel like you've been getting unlucky with the fast breaks

I have clips of this on my XBOX. I usually have 'Limit Transition' as my POE but my players don't get back. Plus the offensive players get super speed on the break so it's an easy layup even if you're defense is already getting set.

I forgot about that part. Yeah, it was basically "big" lineups from that point on. As soon as you saw the lineup, you already knew what type of game it was going to be.

I've also noticed that guys can turbo from baseline to baseline for layups before my defenders at the 3 point line can even get in position to contest. You have to just pray for a random block because layups are automatic with anyone against any defender unless it gets blocked.

Thank god the football pass is at least back.. It killed me watching professional basketball players throw the ball WAY off the mark or guys not be able to catch it. Middle schoolers can make that pass/catch consistently.

Don't change a thing. The most unrealistic aspect of the game is the missed long passes I could throw or catch. Wade and LeBron were converting 80 foot alley oops....but supposed fans of realism want Tim Duncan throwing balls to the stands on an outlet?


You want something changed talk about the defense not nba players successfully competing passes you and I could do at a 90% rate.
