the things ive noticed that the cpu tends to do to gain an advantage is

- Not allow me to box out a certain player at crucial times. i mean at all. No animation or interaction.

- Not allowing me to create contact with a big in the paint who is going back and forth under the rim waiting for an opening for a rifle pass into under the rim.

- Foot sliding first step.

- very passive double teams allowing for easy passes and continued movement.


All in all the game has come a long way in regards to what i call "Artificial Inhibitors". I remember in 2k9 if you beat a defender the game would actually widen your angle to the rim no matter how direct you tried to make it. Some times it would trigger on fast breaks while being trailed to allow for a contact animation you wouldnt finish. Anyone else remember that?

I see all the ones you named constantly...
-The big standing under the rim for sniper pass when the play breaks down and the cpu must score on that possession.

-foot sliding
-double team nerf to where even when I trap the cpu AI the still move freely as if I'm not there holding the bumper down and raising my hands.
-And yes I remember the 2k9 cheese where you have a clear path and the AI slows you up and puts you into an animation swinging you wide so the my can catch up and contest.

That one was classic! Cheese!!

Whatever you guys call it, without it the game would be boring. Don't get me wrong weird things happens...but honestly I should not be making that play or pass anyways. I play on Ss to win and lose games and knowing that my team doesn't have a chance of winning makes me focus hard on gameplay tactics.

2k16 differ from 2k15...there's ways of winning and losing feels good not cheap and maybe patch#3 will fix some issues with gameplay. But we need shenanigans crazy **** happens.

This is not ment for ANYONE IN THIS THREAD but...

I don't understand how anyone expect to play and win on SS when literally 90% of people o see play the game completely ignore the post game, rarely call plays, don't know how to initiate the freelance systems, or even know what Horns Floppy 14 Hawk means.

I've see posts on here saying things are broken just because they didn't look in the menu to see if the option was there.

Czars videos show that you truly can not compete on high difficulties without full understanding of the concepts in this game. How many people complaining kn here even went to Czars YouTube and watched videos?

You're not wrong.....whether some would like to admit it or not, a lot of the frustration comes from losing...plain and simple. Even if most or all of the issues, are patched, some will still be waiting on the game to beat itself and not be happy. Just the nature of the beast....glad there are a lot of tools out there though. SP and Czar have been killing it this year.

Excited, but also a little nervous to see what this patch brings in a week or two....

I can't speak for everyone, but me personally it's not about winning or losing. I disagree with your assessment as it pertains to this thread (other complaint threads maybe). Don't get me wrong, of course the object of any sports game is to win but I'm more concerned about how the game plays rather than winning or losing. I just want to play a game that is fair & balanced that doesn't blatantly cheat you. If I lose I can accept it as long as there were no shenanigans going on. By the way I play on Pro, not because I'm not good at the game but because I prefer to play without being cheated as much as possible. So it's not like I'm playing on HOF & complaining about cheating lol. At the end of the day to each's own. Everyone has their preference & how someone chooses to enjoy the game is up to them. I can only speak for me.

I look past just about everything but 50/50 balls irk my nerves. Especially since most end with a wide open CPU player.

This is why 2k can never patch and please the multitudes. Based on people's personality it is impossible to customize every aspect of this game. People claim they want sim, but really have no idea of how that looks or even plays....

2k will never please everyone true enough .... Right now as a business they are doing the right thing and winning. Their focus is were the majority of their customers spend there time "MyPlayer".

If any of you have played basketball competitive or even watch it live you can easily see a sim style bs arcade. lol let me say it again ... NBA 2k IS A SIM VIDEO GAME.. but only to a degree. Ask yourselves what are you most passionate about ?... I'm passionate about basketball and the strategy and skill it takes to outwit your opponent on the court or video game. I have a problem with the direction they are going because I've seen them make an amazing game without this many cheats lol. If you have played college hoops serious you would know what I mean. Once you show me you can make 15-20 freethrows consecutively that's what I'm going to hold you to. I'm not going to let you make 13-20 and say wow you did so awesome eve if you hit no rim on every shot. Lol 2k proved they could make a great realistic sim Bball game years ago.

Me personally I don't think they will change back to the core gameplay that's why I open the thread to ask to see if they would respond or someone in the OS community could advise a link with information.

You're right in saying they can't please everyone, but suggesting that most people don't know sim is a bit insulting. You have to figure most of the guys playing are fans of basketball and probably play it on some level or at least watch it.

I know basketball, and 2k16 ain't it.

I've experienced the game pulling me away on defense as well. I think that's how they simulate differences in player speed, but it doesn't feel right.

Even though I still have great games with the CPU, the thing that bothers me is the particular ways they uneven the playing field.

The way they can avoid going into contested shot animations in situations where you clearly would. (being patched thankfully)

How they can jump pass with precision while yours sail out of bounds

Things like that bother me more then hitting a higher % of contested shots. That's expected on higher difficulties. And hey, I know it's a lot harder than "just make CPU smarter!" so I'm not even saying that. I just don't feel like that stuff is necessary. I always say, your better off allowing the user to make the game more difficult for themselves than adding that stuff in.

THIS. That what makes me mad about 2k the most the rules do not apply the same way to the cpu too many times they can deflect passes and have them land at their feet and how they can zip passes in the paint with ease

Apollo you and I are on the same brain wave... I bumped down from hof a few years ago and found happiness to some degree on as for past 2 years... I humbled myself again and went to allstar to try out this year and the only difference I saw was in fg% rebound % and slight speed adjustment where better for the user... THE EFFING RUBBERBAND STUCK IN THE MODE HOLDING STUCK IN THE MUD FEELING was still there even on this level. Sad sad ..again these things(%) are adjustable via sliders the other bull crap isn't.

Guys I've been apart of OS since 2005 and there's a lot of great sports gaming plp in here but guys .... Someone needs to really have a sit down with the guys OG daCzar Mike Wang etc. and explain "We don't want these things in our beloved 2k series" Weare happy you are dominating with myplayer and all these baseball card like create your own team type stuff. It's great !! Pop like it ... But can we please keep the core game values...

Tell those team up guys they listen to them before ppl on here anyways

That **** stings me too bro... It's almost like you want to say to the devs "hello you know this **** is in the game dude what the hell are y'all doing over there ????"!!!

It's like a brand new shinny toy we all get for Xmas every year ... The kids see it and there eyes get big and they jump for joy ... The older more mature kids see they new toy and even tho we see all the new gadgetry bells and whistles we want to see if it works properly and does what we need it to do... When it's all over our little brother and his friends get more enjoyment out of the new shinny toy than we do...

I thought they upped layup makes. I'm playing as the Kings with no Demarcus Cousins online against Golden State and make a perfect play as time running out and Bellenelli misses a ****in .5 layup that would've tied the game up. This game is horrific on its best day. Even cheesiness with my opponent can't make up for it. I come charging back from a 14 point deficit, ripping up curry at half court with Collison and only to lose on a botched layup at the rim with basically no contest.
