It's to jack up his overall, 2k does this a lot. Curry wouldn't be the highest rated in the game if he had accurate ratings, and people would complain.

Curry is at least average defender. Y'all stuck in 2010.

it should be higher than those guys though. all three definitely play worse defense than curry... easily.

He really isn't. He's ok offball but he can't stop guys on the perimeter.

The seven moves Stephen Curry mastered to become one of the top point guard defenders in the league.

And he definitely improved from last year. And no, he's not 'top flight' defender ESPN makes it seem like.

Mike Wang is on sports center talking about how difficult it is to program Steph.

Small note they are attempting to "overhaul" Steph in 17.

What's wrong with that since Curry is shooting better from that area than some players from exactly 3pt line? Pressure him from half court 1v1 like Delly/Beverley do and you should be fine with him pulling from 30 since he won't make 4/10 from that far out

Because Curry doesn't pull up from 30 more than twice a game.

Do you know why he pulls up from 30 at most twice a game? Because the defense only lets him do it twice a game. If you let me shoot a 28-30 footer with Curry I'm gonna take it and live with 37-50% from that shot and you can bet your butt on that. If you don't let me shoot from 28-30 feet you're not gonna see me shoot or you'll see me fail because no matter how good of a shooter he is he can't make more decent enough percentage with a hand in his face. And he knows that and that's why you don't see him pulling up from 30 every possession. Play tight under 40ft and you'll be fine.

You would have exact same task with Curry in-game as do 29 coaches - contain Curry. Only difference is you'd know he'd pull-up from there most of the time rather than attack the basket and you can put a stop to that. I swear to God you're acting as if Curry would be guaranteed to make 45% from 30ft every single game.

If Curry pulled up from 30 more than a couple times a game, he'd shoot a much worse percentage. I don't want this in 2k because it would kill online. It would be guys shooting 5/10 from 30 every game. You know how 2k is with shooting.

STAY IN HIS GRILL! He can't shoot 40%, or even 30% if he has someone like John Wall in his grill. Or even Jose Calderon. CONTEST A SHOT!
