Guys, so much talking about Defense etc. Ok, defense is something difficult to measuer, even though Steph is NOT an elite defender.

OK, I will not comment also on his passing abilities, becaus it could be true that Rondo passes more rather than shoot, well, because he can't really shoot.

But hey, how can you REALLY believe that Curry should be on par oe even better than Wall/Westbrook in Speed/Acceleration terms?

How can you REALLY defend this?

Did you notice that Wall is 97, Westbrook is 96, and Curry 95. I thought 91 or 92 was best for him.

Yeah but I also noticed that he is above them in acceleration

I think Curry is quicker than both Wall and Westbrook, but not faster or more explosive.

By quicker I mean Curry's movements are more sharp and takes less time to do. They're also very precise. Watching Westbrook and Wall, while they're certainly the extremes of explosiveness, they're not quick. Their movements aren't well coordinated at times, and are lengthy.

With Curry I see him do a lot of slight feints that tests the defense and get them to jump. But with Westbrook and Wall I see only a few big feints and then explode through the defense. Curry also has a lot of tricks up his sleeves that make him much quicker than other players, especially when it comes to shooting/pulling up.

It's hard to be craft in this game. I wish on pick and roll you could do more things with the ball handler. And I'm talking in terms of what happens after a pick actually works. And then the ball handler can't kind of veer.

If you look at 0:48 when he goes 1v1 against Durant for example. His movements are quick.

Or like at 1:11, he just did a slight change of pace and then exploded past Westbrook easily.

At 4:47, his quick and precise handles allowed him to take advantage of just a slight balance shift in Westbrook to blow past him. Same at 5:03.

I guess he's quick in my POV because his handles are quick and precise? Craftiness certainly has a part in it, but he's just so good at taking advantage of small defensive slip ups in 1v1 situations to get good looks/drives.

Getting back to the original spirit of the thread: between the rating boosts, and shot timing changes....Curry is 10x the nightmare he was before in the hands of a competent user...

I am using Curry by the way, and he is great. And not the latest, but the original version when the game came out. I am only guessing that the updated version will be just killing

Of course if someone wants Curry to be a "god mode' or a "cheat card" will find him trash. I have written a review for him in 2kmtcentral. ( http://2kmtcentral.com/16/reviews/76...comment-105725 )

So I don't really think that he should be a 97/98 rated card. Yes he is undoubtly the best player these two years in the NBA, but I don't understand how he is rated so much above Isiah. There are guys rated below Curry that dominated the game for years.

2k is boosting Curry because a) hasn't introduced a contested shooting atribute so people who pick Curry and jack up 3s after zigzag are frustrated for missing.
                    b) they want to get along with the hype.

Surely the "HoF" scaling promised in the beggining of the year has been thrown out of the window

What makes you say that? Long-term dominance doesn't matter in a game that rates a player's ability for just one particular season. 2016 Stephen Curry is a way better player than Isiah Thomas ever was.

This exactly. Hes having one of (if not the best) the best seasons of all time. Efficiency wise it is the best ever.

To me the best way to accurately get him is by updated tendencies and ratings of course but just by game footage.

Sounds simple but let me explain. You have to really analyze him not like how a fan would who is someone in awe of him but as a coach would.

I would look at every game he shot bad in to see if the shots he missed were because of something the defensive scheme or defender was doing while guarding him, to see if there is a trend there.

Or see if he just bad shooting day out of it just being an anomaly, meaning basically just his shot and rhythm being off that day.

That's my suggestion, fun player to watch all around and a joy to see, looking at his footage would actually be a fun job for a developer I'm guessing lol.

I wrote the above post just so the shots he makes and misses could reflect those accurately of real life and not just randomly have him make or miss shots he's not suppose to I guess

Not to be "that guy" but does anyone else think it's a little ridiculous that 2k has him rated higher than Heat LeBron, prime MJ, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Kareem..

I can't be the only one right?
