I played 47 minutes that game. and that's only because i fouled out. if i hadn't i'd have probably played the whole fricking game. c'mon, fix that bull**** asap, 2k!!!Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
Amazing post bro. I think myCareer needs to be separate from my park too next year. Like you should be able to earn badges in park instead of my career. That makes for a different approach to myPark & my Career. Keep the caps for my park & let guys make whatever player they want for my career.
Choosing a path would be epic Too. Like being able to chose between a inner city kid, vs undrafted, vs the kid of a former player etc is an excellent idea man. Well thought out post.
The problem is "enjoying myself " doesn't get me the good badges all the time for park/pro am. When I'm grinding for badges trying to beat the game I hate this mode lol.#1 Laker fan

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I don't know if this was mentioned prior, but what would be cool is if there was a "Connected Career" similar to Madden where you and your friends can be on their own team or even play on the same team.
I tried to do it via MyLeague, but you can't use player lock to get the MyPlayer feel.PSN: Los_X23

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I personally
1. Contract period: Like Damm, i simmed my second season to get out of the team i was in because i was just bored playing with them, but i was dissapointed too see that when i get in the FA period, all the contracts were 3years!!
I don't want to play for 3years dammit lol before anyone says "just ask for a trade"
When you become a high overall, its really annoying to ask for a trade due to obviously they could trade players you want to be on your team
That being said, why oh why is the period of the contract not open for discussion? these are gonna be a really annoying 3years, which i probably won't even play now honestly, ill just max my player and move on.
2. No trade Teammates:
Why would you take this away from the game? like really... its such an amazing option to have to be able to have control over your teams player interests.
Heck, in 2k16 last gen they have this option lol
Was really sad too see theres no option for this.. and for what? a storyline that you play through once and after you just want to skip it as soon as possible?.
3. No actual team effort: We are forced way too much to be the one who does everything
There are moments when the stars in my team choose to do something awesome, and i ABSOLUTELY love, watching this
Because to me it doesn't happen often, the game is too scripted, i want my stars to take command and be THEMSELVES, be a leader and take control of the game
Basically, tendencies, the game feels too static and robotic, like i have to make everything happen to trigger the proper reactions
Well I DON'T LIKE THAT, maybe other people don't enjoy playing simulation type, but i hate having to do everything
For once 2k, make it feel like an actual team effort!!.
4. Lack of responsive gameplay in certain aspects:
This is related to the above in a way
Basically, the thing this affects the most is plays, they are sooooooooo damm slow, many times we just ask for the ball because we just want to get it over with, watching our teammates just take like 5seconds to pass the damm ball in a play.. like dude, just do it!!!
Again sooo robotic, i wish that the team just passed the ball around at a "SPURS" type fashion, that would be beautiful to watch.
In other words, stop making the AI be so sluggish, just make them pass the ball when they see the passing lane, get it over with, this is not a "staring" game, this is basketball
Anyone who holds the ball for that long in real life will get benched
Too add to that, there should be better "Freestyle offense" when a teammate has good position on the floor instead, of adapting to it, they simply just pass the ball to the one who is gonna call the play.
I don't like too see that, its not realisitc, if you have a chance to get in good position to score, forget the play, especially if your an anthony davis etc, just do your own damm thing, BE YOU
i just don't have patience to watch a slow play, especially if its broken
Heck, lets just say the gameplay is slow and not responsive enough
The low scoring from teammates? guess what, thats probably related to this, slow pace game= less possesions= less statsLast edited by Leasim96; 01-18-2016, 01:11 AM.Comment

Also speaking about connected careers I'd like to be able to retire my player and become the coach. I always like to think they all blow their millions and need jobs
But thats another story for another threadLast edited by zello144; 01-18-2016, 08:58 PM.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I mean myCareer is technically online given you're on 2k servers all the time. And you take that same character into mypark. Also you can play your friends on your court so ppl are consistently playing this game and online at the same time, I don't see why or how it wouldn't work. You could load into your friends court and go from there. Guys on my friends list are ALWAYS playing 2k
Idk how Madden connected franchise works tho. But I can't imagine 20 plus friends being online at the same time trying to run franchise. But they could match make it like whoever is playing for that team you can have an option to search for an opponent that's playing mycareer in the same rank/year or whatever as you. Idk tho.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
I think spike lees story gave a bad impression about how story should play out in Mycareer mode. It really forced a lot onto the player and while I thought the story wasn't great I felt the ramifications as it played out in my career. I liked how my family kept in contact with me thru messages and stuff and I liked how the other characters seemed to play a part in the universe. I do think if people could have chosen thier family it would have been better tho.
MyCareer without the story too me would make me loose interest after a while. So i like having a story. however the story needs to play out a bit better. Like not everything special should happen in your first 2 years. Often players don't really heat up until later. Like after their 3rd year they become superstars. Kobe was a star but really it wasn't until his 3rd year when he really got great. I liked the fight in 2K15, where you stand up for your team mate. I think it was 15.... But that was a cool touch. And I liked the Jordan Flu game as well. But having it in my second year is a no no.
I think this game plummets after the 2nd year cause everything is repetitive after that.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
Also I think there should be either updates to MyCareer or we should be able to edit the players.
In my game, I play for the Knicks and Porzingis is 7'1"... In real life he's 7'3" He playes far better the the 74 rating the game has him stuck at.
We should be able to make gear changes to the players. There are a lot of immersion breaking elements that happen especially with rookies.
Imported rookie classes. At least allow that because the classes they make are wacked. Players with Baldies and sideburns.... Players wearing chucks.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
Wow, 2K should really look at this thread for 2K17 and beyond. Great ideas you all!
For me, the biggest issue this year is that we have a game that has BE THE STORY as its tagline while actually you can't be the story because you don't get to make any choices. And I really hate that most of the rookie year is simmed completely messing up my stats!Comment

Real contract negotiations. I was disappointed in the whole "Accept, Decline, More money, More minutes" thing. Let us recruit and go through the whole process with our gms. Will I have to take a pay cut to recruit KD or LeBron? My player in 2K16 has a player option, LET ME OPT OUT! If I'm the superstar let me give suggestions on who to trade for or sign since the AI is clearly incompetent when it comes to team building. I end up with Biyombo and Cole Aldrich on almost every single MyCareer this year and the 2017 Warriors have Jeff Green and Larry Sanders at PF and C LOL.
Let us know what the roster will look like after signing. I remember I signed with the Blazers to join LeBron and next thing I know, I'm on a team with a bunch of generated players and LeBron flees.
Not being able to see the roster or the projected roster for the upcoming season is disappointing.
I'd like to have a better negotiation process similar to what we have in MyGm. I don't like that you can only submit an offer or two. Let me tell my agent what teams a want to meet with and schedule meetings with them in addition to other teams that might want to sign you.
They should try to give you a nice pitch to convince you to sign with them kind of what 2k14 did with the pre draft interviews and when you got traded.

Let me ask for a no trade clause and let me choose the amount of years and money. Whether or not you get that depends on the agent you have it's a negotiation let us negotiate!Last edited by zello144; 02-12-2016, 02:21 AM.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
There are a lot of potential in team interaction in MC, and you should have a lot of influence on building your team. Bring back the "don't want to play with this and that" and have a say in the trade activity. Affect other players to come play with you. Push players you don't like to the bench or even leave, to heck with correctness - this is a game. Give ultimatums. Borderline MyGM, think LeBron (no matter what he says to the media). If you can collude in Cleveland, you should also be able to collude in Sacramento.
However, you should only have these opportunities when you become a regular superstar, say 90+. Have an incentive to build your player. You shouldn't be able to sit down with the GM as a rookie and demand to move your coach or bench starters, obviously.
Bring in player-to-player chemistry, drop the bucket team chemistry. If the players' chemistry with each other is good, well, then the team's chemistry is good, right? There will often if not always be the black sheep or odd man out in such a group of people, and the effect of this would make playing for your team more interesting. This could also be rating-related or even -affective, as great leaders make others better and vice versa. Not the nonsense badge floor general or defensive anchor thing which CLEARLY has no effect (!).
Again, team interaction. At present, the only thing distinguishing your team experience, is the jersey you wear. Nothing to build relationship and keep you in a city, or even in your team. Nothing. Myself, and I don't think I'm alone in this, has this cycle of events: create PG/SF. Play for 1,5 season. Badge hunt. Sim. Get bored. Save up VC to create new player. Choose new position. Choose different team. Play for 1,5 season. Badge hunt. Sim. Get bored. Rinse and repeat. Only this year there will be no more repeat.
If the MC experience were more geared towards team building and "everyday" interaction, I could have the same career or two almost up until the next iteration. And I don't mean the borderline childish "connections" nonsense. Dinner with DeMita on a "connection card"? Yawn. In real life? Heck, I'll even shower. Carting with Curry - I literally cringed. But you know, "career" and all. If anybody has had a full career without simming the last 10 seasons, kudos to them. I wouldn't even if I got paid to do so.
Gameplay-wise, make ratings matter. No really, make ratings matter. As it is now, a D- 3pt shooter can obliterate you from deep if the game momentum engine decides for him to do so. Lock him down, and their big man will do instead. To exaggerate a bit, some players are left open as they pose no threat from outside. In 2K? Forget it. Bigs keeping up with guards in transition. AI PGs dawdling mid-court. You have "too many" rebounds? Make Muggsy Bogues become Dennis Rodman.
I could go on and on, but I'm afraid these theads are futile. Look at FIFA. What WILL happen is new ways to interact online, updated jerseys, new ways to spend more VC and/or real money, some new animations, slider adjustment and a "reworked" shot meter. 2K, please prove me wrong.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
The most important thing they've gotta do is make it a lot more like MyGM in terms of realism.
Right now it is a mode with an incredibly short lifespan as it gets real easy and boring in my opinion after putting in a few hours. You end up the teams focal point, everything ends up easy and your teammates play like complete garbage. This is incredibly unrealistic.
Unless you're as good as rookie Shaq or LeBron etc you shouldn't be having an offence and team that revolves around you after five minutes. There should be a natural progression into getting your player more and more accomplished in a system until you're capable of being the team's number one shotmaker.
But that's not the only problem. You can run an offence in this mode and do everything perfectly but it seems no matter what you do the play results in you having to constantly do everything for your team.
My coach should bench me for playing like ****, hogging the ball and so on.
As for what I was talking about with MyGm, teams should have similar logic to that in this mode when building teams. Right now it reminds me of the old days of 2K where the CPU never really had any real plans in mind other than to try and sign or trade for the best players, which results in you playing in some really random teams that don't gel at all. I was in NY this year as a shooting guard and ended up constantly playing in a lineup consisting of Calderon, Me, Derrick Williams, Josh Smith and Amar'e. The spacing was awful and nobody could get a shot. The trades made absolutely no sense either.
Teams should be able to determine that you're going to be a serviceable guard, star center down low etc and build their offence and defence around that. The more and more seasons go on you should have more input in the process.
Teams should also be able to deal you as well without any notice like in real life. If they can't find minutes or use for you they send you packing, if you're refusing to sign an extension they can deal you too. You demanding a trade should also create great drama and controversy particularly if you're a very good player, and the team should do a lot to try and convince you to stay/re-sign.
Do these things and I'll probably give it another shot next year. Right now it is far too bare, easy and non-rewarding when you put in a ton of hours, and I'll happily play MyGm over it, and even that mode can get dull.Comment

Re: The Next step for MyCareer
The All star game in Mycareer needs some improvement they could start by removing the teammate grade for the ASG and the rookie-sophmore game it sucks when we get penalized for any bad play when none of the players take it seriously.
Also fix up the whole participating in the 3pt and dunk contests right now you can but the game doesn't let you do both.
An All Star game MVP presentation would also really give more life to the game. More press and Media interaction would be welcome as well. The biggest stars of the NBA are all together for one night give us all of the lights and cameras.Last edited by zello144; 02-28-2016, 03:22 PM.Comment
