Re: so frustrated with this game
One thing though, that always keeps me coming back to 2k16, that is just so freaking good, is the ball and rim physics. 2k16 definitely captured the bounciness of the rim, and the feeling of rolling one into the cup very satisfying.Comment

Re: so frustrated with this game
I can't wrap my head around the fact that someone can prefer 2k14 over 2k16 for realism. That game had so many issues and was no where close sim basketball and 2k16 even though obviously has issues as well is a lot closer to representing real basketball. I can understand having "more fun" or w/e on 2k14 as i played it a great deal myself but saying it's more realistic? Come on now. As people mentioned everyone complained about it few years back and for a good reason.
But there are definitely things you see and say: "we need to get back to that"
I've been playing it since I bought PSNow for a couple months- wish I could capture video on PS4 to point some things out...Comment

My guy crosses over and bounce the ball off the shin of the defender.Comment

Re: so frustrated with this game
Nothing wrong with player collisions with the ball tbh. It's one of the things they got right. Do a between the leg cross if the defender is to close. Otherwise cross a bit further and learn how to protect the ball. This is one of those things that actually penalise turboers and careless players.Comment

Re: so frustrated with this game
But like ther other poster said, ball collision mechanics are well done overall. Sorry you can't sprint into a defender and do a cross with the ball clipping through the defender. The game may have flaws, but this isn't one of them.Comment

Re: so frustrated with this game
sarcasm? i sometimes don't know if i should cry or laugh about the ball bouncing off and on the rim in the weirdest ways, just to fall in eventually.Comment

Re: so frustrated with this game
IIRC a couple of BIG issues with 2k14 was the AI not taking any shots from mid-range and the AI always running the shot clock down without any movement and then hoisting up ridiculous fadeaways from just inside the 3. I don't see how any game pre-freelance offense and ACE can be looked at as better than what we have now. There is no way I could go back and play any 2k without the freelance offenses. That's like going back and playing a college football game from the 90's without spread offenses lol."Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

Re: so frustrated with this game
I have to agree with the OP, to get any semblance of CPU competitiveness, the game just becomes frustrating. The stark difference between open shot success human (and CPU teammates) vs CPU is enough to turn me off the game. The AI just can't keep up without the BS.
It's pretty clear the game is designed for online H vs H, and modes like MyCareer are designed for people to play on easy arcade style settings to churn out VC. The game isn't designed for the way I want to play it, and it's taken me this long to finally accept this.Comment

Re: so frustrated with this game
I just came back to this game after taking a break for the division. I play on superstar. had to turn off simulation because of cpu cheese, and now I may have to go back to all star difficulty after my recent games. cpu goes 60+% from the field and I cant hit a wide open shot smh. don't really wanna go back to all star because I always blow the cpu out, but I may have no other choice
EDIT: did 2k change anything gameplay wise in the game the past week or so? I feel like whenever I don't play the game for a few days in a row, the game always feels different when I come back"Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: so frustrated with this game
I shared a lot of the same frustrations as you guys until i got the Simworld rosters and sliders and put it on HOF. Plays like a whole new game. Most realistic NBA experience I have ever had. If you are on Xbox one I can't recommend it enough. It is a must have IMO. I was a PS4 user and bought an Xbox just for the Simworld rosters.Comment
