With that said breaking people off the dribble is even more rewarding because it takes skill now

Keep in mind due to the caps most myplayers can't get Westbrook's speed or Walls quickness or Kevin Durants ball control.

      That's one example .

On the flip side park players have to remember they are facing maxed defensive created players with all the defensive badges. while play now online guys aren't . It should be harder to take them off the dribble .
If you're referring to my post, I'm not sure, but I did mention that I'm strictly offline only before I wrote my patch review.

Yeah I know man it was just an observation . Really that just supports what I said earlier . It's so much to do in this game , we won't all have the same experience .

Any pro am players can tell me about the break starter nerf? How bad/good is it now and how far down the court can you pass reliably?

Fair point Rockie. I can definitely see where your coming from, thanks for laying it out.

I guess the only thing I would mention is that PNO is on SS...isn't Park on All Star difficultly? There's also the benefit of human error in the park with every defender you face. A lot of times with all these off ballers were dealing with AI that you can't always shake off as easily. So I think both sides feel the hit from any change that's made.

I get that y'all think that the game speed is fine the way it is but for MyPark I feel it should be higher than Pro-AM, MyTeam, or any other 5v5 game mode. Since it IS the arcade style game mode on this game. It feels like a 3v3 Pro-Am game sometimes, and it's quite boring.

Went into Rivet with my Sunset boys and we hit 12 🔥 like it was nothing.. walked off but would have hit 20 easy..

We ran with all PG like we usually do, 6'7, 6'6, 6'3... we beat lineups with 2 bigs we beat small ball.. not one team could hold us...

Now I say all this to convey that patch 6 didn't change our performance or nurf it for lack of a better word.

I also can acknowledge that dribble mechanics do feel more natural. I never used Kobe escape to cheese in and out but in Patch 6 the use of Kobe escape is more realistic universally now - I like that - same for use of Hesitation 3 which i never use but this is welcomed.

I like the natural feel and I kind of feel like my moves are easier to perform now that players feel like they have more weight to them - it's like a momentum feel that no longer feels like weightless exaggerated sliding.

Patch 6 does expose skills more, I like that but it didn't kill dribbling - I can definitely refute that notion. You do lose the ball easier and not neccessarily by turnover but there are more pickup dribble animations *another good response.

I can live with this. My launches are not OP looking but they work and I can definitely accept this more natural feel. The way folks could go in and out of escape dribbles was never natural prior to patch 6 in the uber speed boost Era.

I can also feel more weight on defense which exposes recovery ability - one slight wrong move on D can set me back a couple steps and lead to a defense breakdown.. this is fine, especially considering the character I'm using only had 12 bars on his defense

All in all: definitely not as bad as many proposed but not bad in many senses: you can still dominate with dribble moves and you can still dominate in general - patch 6 in no way made me less dominant.. if anything I'll eventually be more dominant on both ends by virtue of the new conditions

Do I miss the speed boosting? Nah, not when I see you're still able to launch albeit the launches are more natural. I'm still getting a speed boost out my launches but it's nothing OP albeit the speed boost out of the post position is still there lol but still not as OP looking as other moves..

It's definitely a cleaner environment to see the in and out speed boost spam is killed.. should also lead to more team support and networking within a team all movement system where everyone gets a fair chance at the clock..

I'm just moreso happy to see dribble moves I used prior to patch 6 still work. Sizeups still work. Damn near everything still works but it's the unnatural aggressive speed boost launches that were killed.

So much to be said still but man don't be a kill joy acting like Patch 6 is ruining lives lol if someone is ruined from Patch 6 well so be it but how does that make ya look laughing at someone else's plight.. I seen so much sadistic responses since patch 6 drop - it's sinister

I can still finesse the best of rivet on XB1 and they supposed to have best defense so Patch 6 didn't suddenly gimp us finesse guys and give all the power to slow basic players let alone lineups who want to run big oh hell nah - slow lineups / slow builds get exposed moreso in Patch 6 because fast is still fast.. but ya you got to know how moves work... that's part of finessing

Don't play online/mypark. my biggest gripe is that auto play call tendency by coach is still awful. same called plays over and over again even with the spurs and the hawks somehow. I'm the most causal player ever. I don't want to think with the controls while playing a video game offline unless it's dark souls or some hard game like that. I don't like pressing random buttons to call a play because I'm not really good at remembering the controls. It's hard. I suck but I'm trying to have fun. I tried practicing remembering the plays but I always end up with a 24 sec clock violation. Please fix the coach auto play call coach tendency and scramble them up like the coaches do in real life.

Edit: If someone knows if theres a active HC or a coach that is not hired in MyLeague/MyGM that calls lots of plays and not the same plays over and over and over again, it would be a godsend to me.

Have we not even gotten a word yet if this is even coming at all for PC?!? It's ridiculous enough we don't have it yet, let alone that we haven't heard a single word about it. Pathetic, we're consistently getting word after the other platforms even though our copy cost exactly the same.

For 21 points each game. Sorry dude, but that was destroying park. The same moves. Over and over and over again. I hear you but patch 6 does not address spamming

Users will even moreso spam sizeups now and gaurd 1, Curry hop step + Iso Crossover packages are a few common ones folks are now familiar with and will spam these moves to create just enough separation for a clean shot or a clean shake that helps them drive by

Patch 6 does not address spamming - it cannot.. the condition of spamming still exists and may even be exacerbated by Patch 6 just out of user desperation (thirst) - whatever you want to call it or analogue it with.

So the form of superfluous spam is different.. I mean you can still spam hesi 3 and Kobe escape but with less effectiveness...

I hope folks can really grip what their true gripes are.. if it's spamming that's frustrating you? Spamming still exists.. let's just be real.. folks struggled to stop these OP moves.. I get it.. but be real and admit that is what you like about patch 6 is that those same moves have lost much of their OP luster

Cheesers are still going to what's the most OP move available albeit much of what is available is now reduced to a universal "natural" level of dribbling snd driving - hey that does sound great, let's applaud that - I'm not even being sarcastic here.. but be mindful of the true reality Here and your true gripes.. I know clear where I stand with patch 6 and I have no animosity.. I can work with this happily.. I'm a satisfied consumer still

                              Love this patch.lol

I never laughed so hard playing a game. Went to the park and played 3v3 with randoms (My team consisted of a level 5 Pro, level 1 all-star , level 3 all-star=me). We won 5 straight going against a collection of high legends and all-stars. Watching some of these guys look completely lost and frustrated trying to beat people on the perimeter leading to forced dribble pickups, bad shots, or turnovers was priceless indeed..Hero ball is basically dead and the team that shares the ball the most dominates more than ever now..

Dribbling is not as dead as some have proclaimed as I've had no problem getting by people when I was judicious when attacking. I'd say it is more about balance when it comes to the 1 v 1 matchup but a smart ball handler still has the slight advantage.

I also felt that movement was a little more free flowing in the park and not so stagnant and plodding like it was prior. Early Impressions though.

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

It warped an entire game mode around it, and there's no bigger proof of that than the 100+ youtube videos whining about it. It's not a matter of if it's guardable, it's a matter of making the game require more than just "Speedboost" or "Defend speedboost". Keep it up 2k. You got more issues to deal with and fix gameplay wise for 17, but keep it balanced so we can play good basketball
Great post. In any gaming genre, sports games especially, ubiquitous playstyles centered around exploits are the worst kind of design failure, and should be addressed as soon as possible. If a success can be had by everyone with a few select button presses, stick movements, and crunched numbers, then that is game catering to only a certain part of their customer base.
