The Playing style Russ plays via Post moves, Face Ups, Pass Fakes etc....is just a more realistic style of playing. It's funner and a breath of fresh air. To assume that Centers can just stand there and play contest defense against him is also assuming that he hasn't practiced on how to counter people who play defense like that. Cause like you we put deliberate time in how to counter physical body animations, what to do when the double team comes and what moves chain good off of certain pivots/physical body animations. All the moves he does work great against all levels of competition and all types of players ranging from 7ft3 Centers to 5ft7 PG's. Him being able to score on the Blocks has been a huge asset to the style of ball we play on 2K because he can stretch the floor, out maneuver Centers in Space, and Bang with Bigs in the paint...#VersatilePlayer

However, A5 I get it though your right about alot of the things you said in your META BUILD post. I mean we can all easily follow META BUILDS and play like the rest of the 2K Community which Consists of Cutting down the middle for Buckets 24/7, Running in Circles holding Turbo to get free from Defenders, or whatever the new popular 2k tactic is at the moment. But fact of the matter is there are two different competitive styles of playing 2K. There are people who are rating dependent and have no BASKETBALL IQ so they all use the same PLAYER BUILDS and COPY each others SIGNATURE STYLES, or there are players who are non-rating dependent and focus on Real Basketball IQ and the PLAYER BUILDS or SIGNATURE styles just become a preference for the style of playing that fits them best.

        Good stuff OP

However I play with a "non-meta' build and do should pretty decently. Because I see the same cookie-cuter builds, I know how to defend them, but since I dont run a meta build I can take avandtage of Park players not being used to my style

Good stuff man. My proam squad uses the post alot in our half court offense and our bigs have decent success with a basic post fade and spin, but their moves dont go any further than that. You have one of the best post games I've seen this year, gotta give major props when its deserved.

I always like making a great rebounder , passer, and entertaining finisher around the basket but a great defender as well. I'm willing to sacrifice a three point shot and Ballhandling for at least a capable midrange.

Next year I want make myplayers like
Prime Wade , Scottie Pippen , Tim Duncan. I just couldn't make them accurate this year.

Ultimately it comes down to preference.

I don't like running a 6'7 point because I believe at the point I'm setting up the offense. Not looking to score or rebound. If my guy's smaller and faster I can get into the paint and distribute easier.

My 6'8 inside shooting guard is impossible for "meta" builds to counter because he does everything they don't. No guard knows how to defend me in the paint. I hit fades like I'm MJ or Kobe and if that's not there I drive in and finish on someone or get to the line. Leave me open? Shot's still wet enough to hit open 3's.

I really feel like the game's more fun when you're playing it differently. Makes things a lot less monotonous.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

sounds like you may be the best guard in this game then.

Yeah your inside SG is everything I wanted my inside SF to be a 6'8.

I sincerely hope that the hesitation that crossovers provide now is enough room and space to get open. And that it is truly enough to green those shots.

I have yet to try an Inside build - good looks here.

I already have a balanced 6ft6 SG who does very well going inside and outside as well as an Outside 6ft7 PG who does the same fairly well.

As much as I want to try the Inside build: I just don't see how much more value it can yield over a balanced build. It seems too extreme but I do like some of the unique privileges like strength.

I also wouldn't max out Inside because I would want some decent Rebounding as well for snagging. I would prolly go 10 and 10 on both or 15 and 5.

I guess when it comes to going against meta builds: uniqueness is more important than pound for pound value which is fine and understandable because you're breaking new ground.

So a 6'7 PG inside that can dribble. or a 6'8 SG that can't dribble.

There's seriously no reason to make a SG in any circumstance.

Balanced PG's are great. Inside PG's are for dunking on people with 94 contact dunk.

My balanced SG is my best all around scorer

Now on the other hand, I have a 6ft6 Balance PG who is just terrible lol... poor driving mechanics, poor handles, and his shot is so broken lol considering all this he is still a 95 overall...

There is still work to be done on my broken PG but I definitely wouldn't dissuade folks from building SGs. One, the 6ft8 SG can be used as your designated 3 in Park. Not everyone is fit enough to play the 3 against bigs using a PG. This is also why I have a 6ft7 SF.

Pro Am is also a place for SGs. In my experience every position has inherent benefits that others don't and SGs seem to be inherently better at shooting. While my balanced SG has 78 on 3s, my Outside PG has an 85 and yet using the same jumper on both: the SG is far superior in shooting (more greens and more consistency).

This is not an argument by any means, you feel the PG is the 1fit for all that's fine. I wouldn't ignore a potential teammate simply based on position and build.

SGs have the best overall scoring ability . They come in handy for those guards who like to play offball
