    Are you on PS4?

I wouldn't mind testing either. I'd gladly help.

It sure would help but probably not enough to fix the problems in general. They also need to make controls more responsive and take care of all the slow and drawn out movements imo, the way it was in most of the previous 2k's, but i guess that's another story.

Same goes for trying to get position for rebounds. It really gets on my nerves having a clear path to where i want to go, about to run past the defender and just getting stopped for no reason while the cpu slides into box out position. If it only happened against bigger/stronger defenders with better rebound ratings i might give it a pass but i've had cp3 and isaiah thomas do it as well...

Here's an example against barnes and jrue. Not the worst i've encountered but just to give you an idea in case you don't know what i'm talking about. Also, keep in mind i have 94 boxout/rebound, offensive crasher and scrapper if that matters.

I really hope these suction mechanics get taken out or at least lessened.

Yes sir on PS4. You can add me, zePokar. Mind you I don't have any games right now, but I will with a 95% probability get 2K17.

I just wish we had made this thread way earlier, it has been on my mind for a while and I got lazy. I'am not sure this board's read as often as it used to be by the 2K crew though.

That isnt a rating issue. It is a way they keep down the number of o boards. I have D Howard and when a shot goes up the computer will freeze me and prevent me from moving into position to get an o board half of the time. This is the first year i have had 2k take control of my players in such a way. Same thing happens on shot contests the cpu will hold the contest until after the shot. It is really confusing.

Would be better if you could do it back on the other end, but player controlled defenders move about as quickly as Shaq so it rarely happens.

Really good stuff in here. I'm also irritated how easily defenders fight through ball screens. I understand it creates more gameplay balance but it's just too overpowering in my opinion. You can't dig into a ball handler in the NBA and fight over without getting called more often than not, and with so many quick guards in today's league, most perimeter defenders trail around the screen and require good help and rotations.

I dont think it creates balance. Imo it does the exact opposite, when you can shut down tbe pnr by fighting thru on ball screens with poor defenders. Irl there are ton of player who die on the screen. Very few guys can consistently blow up pnr's by getting thru on ball screens.

I feel you. I'd rather see realism. But if they don't create an option to defeat screens it's like one dimensional. I think it should be tweaked to be harder but not removed. I mean then again that requires more knowledge. Reputation is INCREDIBLY overrated. Ex. Shumpert is a terrible defender. But people consistently say the opposite. Nice examples. This was my #1 frustration with 2K16. You clearly illustrated that problem in this video.

                        Thanks!

Scripted rebounding man. I hate it. I feel like rebounding, rim ball physics which are a pet peeve of mine was implemented so wrong for years. We for the most part are not limited by past gen memory and I think they can do way better. They attacked the problem artificially to get rebounding numbers where they want because IMO that is what they felt could meet deadlines for the game. This means we have to settle with ball morphing, lack of user control control of the outcome at times basically scripting

On ball defense or dribbler ball handler interactions has always been a problem either suction defense morphing, sliding, and obeying no realistic physics at times or the other option it will be too easy slippery slide through with no impact. I also feel this has to be rewritten to be more physics based instead of relying on artificial suction, sliding defense.

                          1. What I noticed that hurts how they try to improve OBD is some of the layup animations, dunk animations are triggered from too far away and can't be altered. To top that off players are sliding on the court at the same time often times taking 4 steps to complete a move. What it does is give the offense an artificial advantage once a blow by happens

In that first example with Shroder, you'd think if you expected that kind of momentum boost from the CPU that a stepback would work right?

Nope, CPU would still contest it AND give you a terrible shot quality.

In that example with Bazemore once you get that past the shoulder animation you gotta hit the shot button right then. Unless you have Lebron the game will never let you completely separate from someone to blow past them.

Which surprises me you didn't get the blow by animation in your first example with Shroder. Ball on the outside hand, shoulder dipped after the crossover, man clearly beat. Yet Bazemore got it against a superior defender? EWW 2K.

Not to get off topic, but I thought I was the only Knicks fan who realized Shump is terrible on D.

His progression stopped after his rookie season.

There isn't much else for me to add in here tho. It's all been covered nicely.

Getting a defender on your hip means absolutely nothing in 2K16 - unless you go straight into a canned layup/dunk animation. Simple drives are unnecessarily a thing of the past.
