Guess 2k took over for NBA Live this summer in being the butt of the jokes, it has really been a sloppy offseason for 2k with bad pics leaking and now bad pics that 2k are releasing, they are building up enough bad feedback to the point that whenever they do release some real info it has to blow us away.

As of now the daily screenshot releases has been a major fail.

That why I keep saying 2k needs to eat, breath, sleep the motto if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Gamers are fickle like that one minute they love you, next minute they hate you especially when the work is sloppy they aren't afraid to call you out on it.

Only difference is we'll still give them the benefit of the doubt when the game drops to the point where we'll stick with it.

Live on the other hand, would be dead by the time it releases unless you were one of the true, hardcore Live fans that would buy the game even if Jesus Bynum Reincarnated made a return.

True but that's not even a gamers thing that's just people in general esp. when money is involved.

That's true 2k has built a lot of trust with its consumers, but I hope they don't get to comfy in thinking they can just do what they want and people will just follow because they are 2k.

But technically we are still waiting for the meat and potatoes about the game so 2k can still redeem themselves.

You're like partially right. You've been around here long enough to know that even if we liked what we saw the threads would still be this long and going because there'd still be that crew that hates everything 2K does coming in every thread saying how much. They don't care about the OP and just want gameplay. 'Screenshots are cool and all but why they hiding gameplay?' Etc etc

2k The Dev team works hard, believes in what we do at its core, etc...

Marketing is the fluff department or at least loves to dabble in fluff and unfortunately are the ones up front.

You don't give a crap about them but once a year though.

Business is pretty simple in that way. Smart companies are typically transparent with customers and communicate the benefits of their product. This is done because of competition and usually products don't vary much from the other. If a competitor comes along and is comparable in quality; it wouldn't be a stretch to say 2k would lose their asses.

Every year I hope they'll update the Bulls' number font instead of using Utah's. Was hoping this would finally be the year with Utah getting new uniforms.. I mean, they have the right one on the old Bulls' teams.

Its only so many comments because people dont have crap else to talk about.

A Triple A game and all people have is a freaking screenshot..

While the devs cant say anything because marketing wants to throw the game out like theyre the ones who did it later on.
But doesn't that sort of prove that there marketing is working? I mean look at the comments here. People are like rabid dogs over just a screenshot. I'm sure they would prefer people to be praising the pictures but we are still talking about their game. More than all the other sports games that have gameplay videos and trailers releasing.

And it's not like they are going to lose sales just because of these screenshots. That will come down to footage and what has or has not been added to the game. If the trailer drops and it looks terrible or if news drops and little has been updated then people will consider not releasing the game. Something would have to happen that make this game an inferior product to last year for people to not buy the game. And even then, with the fan base this game has and the lack of direct competition, I don't see how 2k can do anything market wise to really hurt their product.

And in terms of trailers I don't think I have ever seen a 2k trailer be poorly received. There might be some complaints once analysis kicks in but typically the initial response for trailers is very positive and hype inducing.

At this point on if someone came up to me and told me 2k artists and marketing are working for NBA live I would believe them, that's how bad they've been.

If there ever was a year to take a risk this is the year to do it with no direct competition so I kind of can see the art direction they wanted to go into, but it was poorly done so far by the pictures we have received.

I swear this is something I've heard about 2k so many times in the past. They might not knock every single release out of the park but I personally have never played a 2k game where I've been completely disappointed. I dont recall them ever dropping the ball in a major way, though 2k14's release om mexr gen was close.

Every game might not live up to the hype, but let's face it the game always has hype because we are always expecting the best from 2k. You don't get that reputation from disappointing fans.
