If all the two guys lack in common is one likes shooting with the button and one likes shooting with the stick, boosts shouldn't be on the table.
Can't agree more with that last line. Stick skills, IMO, should solely be based off of being able to outplay your opponent with on-ball maneuvers and specialty shots. Giving a bonus to the basic jumpshot over the button users (something I've used on basketball games since well before 2k was even thought of) seems kinda screwed up, IMO.

But hey, not in my hands. I'll probably still use the button, and continue to save the stick for specialty shots.

Gonna be funny being on the mic, though:

"I missed a green release with the shot stick perfectly aimed! WTF 2K!!"

And nobody has thought of how that'll affect pull-up jumpers.

Oh, this is gonna be fun, lol
      Risk vs Reward?

I just don't see the value in using the stick if I can get greens with the face button esp. using a custom jumper

This Thread has turned into a bunch of speculation and resistance LOL older people don't care about stick skills when it's obviously a part of the game especially with the new dribble mechanics starting and younger people are defending the changes. Bottom line it doesn't matter everyone will assimilate to the new changes
