Just got my ankles broken by a guy with gold ankle breaker and 76 ball control. He also hit the game winning contested hookshot on me with a 81 standing layup and no upgrades post game.

What's the point of having a lockdown defender with HOF badges ?

There isn't had a 6'4 66 shot creator hit 7 contested hand in the face conjoined twin level pressure jump shots in a row over my 6'8 SF in the pro am yesterday.

my new saying about the paint protector, LDD,

" our success in games are solely based on how far 2k allows us to go"

2k has a hard time getting defense to work on 2k

From park to park, my ldd plays totally different. Some days he's lockdown, others he's sliding all around. I built the guy to D up, but the lack of responsiveness makes him very average at best some days.

Same thing happened to my slasher. 2k nerfed him into a short glass cleaner. So I built a ldd and now he doesn't preform how he originally did.

Guess I'll stick to my glass cleaner until he can't rebound or screen.

Yo, peep my post in lockdown defender question thread

62 rated playmaker with 57 driving layup made 2 contact layups on my rim protector (gold on bruiser, rim protector, and defensive stopper)

In what universe do you lose this paint battle 2x to such an inferior opponent lol dude went right into my chest stride for stride with my hands up to contest the release 😢

To make matters worse: he is 6ft tall and I am 6ft9... I have 9 inches on him 2k! I'm not going to attempt to block such a small player with such inferior ratings! This man should be falling into his own pit of failures! 😤

Playing good D only gives u a chance to make a stop, even with elite defender. Most unrealistic how sharpshooter/stretch big can just gather for a stand dunk and your player being right there just get frozen and cant challenge it.

I don't know which is worse for me (7'0 GC center), not being able to do anything when a player just turns around, gathers the ball and dunks all over me or when a stretch/sharpshooter just pulls up right in front of the half court line and banks in threes all game with me right in front of him.

Defending a sharpshooter/stretch big without the ball on 2K view is extremely difficult when the ball is taken baseline or into the paint and then kicked out. I can only follow the arrow of my player pointing in the direction of my opponent. With limitless range, this can make it very difficult stay with my opponent. I've had to result in switching to broadcast view for these games.

All players whatever archetype they are can get contact contacts as if they are slashers. It's one more 2k bug

                            I don't agree it's a bug

I'm usually on the winning side of these outcomes 90% of the time and it's only the slasher or point forward who will give me anything less than a 90% chance dice roll in my favor.

It's almost predictable for me when I can count on a contact layup being a miss against my PP but this inferior player happen to make good twice - usually there is like no hope on the release of the ball. Sometimes at that height differential I even get a block with my contest.

I am familiar with the contact layup success in 2k16. Inn there it was a canned animation that often went in greater than 75% chance regardless of ratings and badges. I don't feel that same system in 17.

I very well could have played this user more aggressive and took matters into more control by going for the block as he was approaching his release. It was such a routine bang bang play for me that I didn't expect to lose the outcome especially on the second try.

It's actually easier for my LDD to strip a playmaker with HOF ankle breaker than sharpshooters for some reason.

But I do agree with posters here. Defense in park is very inconsistent .

Has anyone ever had an issue where everyone's players started moon-walking as soon as player intros began? I was in a game and only me and one of my teammates got to stay. Eventually both of us and our matchups got back on the ground, but my fallen teammate and his matchup stayed aerial the whole time. It was...compelling.

I have video evidence, but the first few possessions I wasn't doing anything because I was on the floor actually LMAO so hard I was crying.
