    These are the two awful spots where "the pass" triggered for me:

    1) Drive and kick

    I drive, defender closes on me leaving a man open. I make an icon pass and the animation kicks in. By the time the ball descends from its heights the defender is back with the open man.

    2) Pick and roll

    Already commented here. When trying to feed the big man the animation kicks in. The floating/curvy pass is caught a lot by the big defender.

    IMPORTANT:

    Might this be related to low pass ratings from college players? It is true that I've seen it less in 2kU

      Yep overhead passes are way too slow, it's like they register as a lob pass, dont think it needs to be taken out, just needs to be speed up.

        Im not really seeing it either. I see it when it seems to call for it like lobbing it into the post, but on a FB or across the court they seem to have some zip on them. Could there be a little more zip at times, sure, but imo its not nearly as bad as some are making it out to be.

          I keep forgetting that this game has chest passes...In 2k16,I used the bounce passes for fast breaks,drive and kicks,Pick and rolls and almost about everything.


          They were faster than all the animations in the entire game....

          If I just used the pass button..There was a 99.9% chance that, it would get picked off because the animation was too slow or the defense would magically catch up on fast breaks.

          I am guessing this didn't change in 2k17...(Can't play the prelude because I am a PC player).

            They could tone down the overhead passes but I'm not noticing it as a major issue because it seems to coincide with low rated players.

              Yeah, I'm only really noticing a lot of bad passes with lower rated passers in difficult situations (on the run in traffic), which I think is realistic.

                  That's the kind of passes choice by the CPU that are gonna get frustrating overtime imo. Sure even though I'am a playmaker pg my passing rating ain't high at all but I don't think that takes a part in wich pass the CPU is choosing for you when icon passing. That's why I still think that overhead passes should never trigger when icon passing. That pass animation is slow and the pass itself is slow and floaty. Could hardly have been a worst choice of pass when trying to hit the open man.

                  I guess I could have tryed a manual chest pass but it's typically the time where I would use icon passing.

                    Mike what if when icon passing RT was a modifier and when you pressed it (aswell as the icon) you would get icon CHEST passes only ? How about that ?

                                Not really since you can anticipate and preload the pass while the ball is in the air. The same way as you do a touch pass now. The pass meter would be very sensitive.

                                I think there was a game that had attempted to do it and the game was horrible so I don't think we're gonna see it in 2K. They might have made some prototypes and didn't like the result too.
