BUT the kicker is..I dont want to have 5 Michael Jordans etc, I want just 1 of each player, preferably the youngest of each person (including garnett & nowitzki - I'd intend to remove their old versions and replace them with the youngest).

Now, I dont know if this is even possible, let alone how to do it, and if I were to do it, would it be very time consuming or is it quite straightforward?

It wouldn't take too much time. Go to create roster & within the roster trade any legend you want to a current team for their lowest rated player. If you don't want to get rid of any players on the current team you can add a lower rated free agent to that team then trade him for the legend.

As far as which teams you trade the legends to, it doesn't really matter since you will be doing a fantasy draft. It takes more time when your actually trying to put them on particular teams. Make sure you use the upload custom roster feature when you choose MyLeague/MyGM.

I'm pressing Save. After that I exit. After that I jump right back into MyLeague from the start menu and nothing is saved, except for the very first league I started, which I won't even start the season with because too many teams have their uniform and arena design broken because "there is a problem."

I see you can add all NBA teams and euroleague teams to the fantasy draft pool. Nice. So I can trade legends to those teams as well.

Much like Andrew on NLSC, who documented it only a few weeks ago when he went back and played over his Sacramento Kings franchise in NBA Live 2002, I start but never finish these modes, and over the past couple of years I've really struggled to attach myself to a game mode which I consider to be the best in basketball games.

In a way to combat my inconsistency with MyLeague, I thought that documenting it through avenues such as the NLSC and OperationSports forums in a way to stay motivated. I have done a few of these before, in 2K10 and 2K12, but since then haven't really been committed to a single franchise mode.

So, this is my attempt to re-invigorate my love for the mode with a team who, just my luck drafted the no.1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Ben Simmons, the team I support, the Philadelphia 76ers.

I'm not sure how consistent I will be in updates, I plan to play 2-3 games before making a new post in the forum. I'm no pro at the game, even after over 16 years of playing basketball games I won't be playing HOF. This is simply a test currently, as I have University Exams in a few weeks so posts will be scarce, but soon after I should have a lot more time to play more games and progress further.

I hope it's entertaining for some, it won't be to everyone's taste I suppose, but I thought in a way to make it more enjoyable for myself, sharing it with others may help to keep me motivated to play.

Hope you guys want to join me on this journey!

          START OF SEASON

          EXPECTATIONS

Seeing as this was the worst team last season, expectations won't be too high in the first year. Experience and growth will be key, with the core of Noel, Okafor, Embiid, Saric and Simmons all set to only get better with age. Though we are young, the pure talent of our front court should be able to carry us, with inside scoring being dominant due to our limited perimeter threats(which I am possibly looking to change early in the season). Playoffs will be the goal, and with such a youthful team the sooner I can get them playing competitive basketball the more chance we have to win some games. I expect us to finish somewhere around 6th-10th in the East, 6th being the best case scenario, anything above that would be a booming success.

          TEAM SCRIMMAGE

I played around with the team a bit in scrimmage just to get a feel for this years team, and decided to trial something that has been discussed for the Sixers in real life, starting Ben Simmons at the PG with his exceptional passing skills. He was challenged, but mainly outplayed Jerryd Bayless in the time I played, and makes me wonder if the signing of Sergio Rodriguez may not last in Philadelphia, and trading for some more depth at SG may be a better option.

Timothe Lawawu Cabarott is raw, very raw, so raw I think I may need to acquire someone to start over him in order for us to be able to contain anyone at that position on the defensive end, as Nik Stauskas was running rings around him.

In the battle of the bigs, it's no question all four of Okafor, Embiid, Saric and Noel are worthy starters, and in order to really capatilise on our depth I've decided to change Noel's primary position to PF, which actually raised his overall by +1. Saric is a beast outside of the key, which will help immensely in improving our game from outside. The rebounding caliber of Embiid, Noel and Okafor will guarantee that no rebound will be easy for the defense, and I expect a lot of second chance points against teams without an elite front court.

          LINEUP

I'm willing to trial Ben at the PG to begin the season, and run with Luwawu for now. I did get an offer of Noel for Khris Middleton, but would rather save the contract space and grow Luwawu to become more consistent and learn how to play with him. Picking between Embiid and Okafor to start at center is tough, but with Okafor already having a season under his belt and Embiid's durability still in question, I figured to keep Embiid limited to begin with and possibly mix him in with Noel later in the season. Robert Covington will get the starting role over a personal favourite of mine in Jerami Grant, just simply due to versatility on offense and ability to stretch the floor and hit outside shots, something that Luwawu and Simmons are still improving on.

Try Saric in Starting lineup as stretch 4, and Okafor as postup iso C, and set freelance to Pace, motion cuts you welcome

            re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

There's still no way to change the number of games in a season in myGM right? That to me makes it unplayable unless you want to play it like a sim-only game. Having to play 82 games just to get to the GM'ing stuff is awful.

I started myLeague with the Pacers on All Star and am getting my butt handed to me every game. It feels like the AI is seriously juiced, which on previous editions I thought only happened on Superstar and above (perhaps I'm just remembering wrong?). Seeing Brook Lopez go for 30-22 and 5 steals and beat PG and Thad Young down the floor time after time gets really old, not to mention Lin racing around like Westbrook and shoot like Curry.

I'm probably going to restart with an expansion team and try on Pro since I obviously can't handle All Star (which is weird because it feels totally fine on myCareer).

For those doing expansion, did you start in offseason, regular season, or sim a year first?

Benefits to all 3 approaches as I love my new rookie starting in offseason, but the rosters are a bit wacky now w Rose still on the Bulls etc.

Was thinking of starting in regular season, but create two rookies for expansion teams.

Depends on how you're running the League. If you're doing 30-team control, I'd start in the offseason; it's fun to redraft everyone and swing trades that didn't happen (or sign guys back to teams they left IRL, like Wade never leaving Miami). One downside to this approach that I've noticed:

                1. The bird years -- at least in mine -- seem incorrect. Players that have been with the team three years only have two, two only have one, and so on. For the 76ers, they have Noel with only two bird years and Embiid with one, despite both being with the team for longer than the bird years would indicate. I imagine it's some sort of glitch with the "start in offseason" roster, but if you're doing 30-team control it's easy enough to make sure they stay with the team's they're supposed to.

I'm not a cap expert, so it could be that they're right, but the numbers don't jive with how I *thought* it worked.

If you go regular season, it'll be difficult but you'll almost assuredly get a high draft pick. Simming the first season is also viable because playing as an expansion team, with little top-end talent, is frustrating. Building from the ground up is HARD and I only managed to play about 20 games of my first season (4 in Oct/Nov, 3 in Dec, 4 in Jan, 3 in Feb, 3 in March, 3 in April). I was thankful when I hit the offseason today ... a chance to draft a new star and spend my coffers in free agency.

You'll have a ton of money to spend anyway as an expansion franchise and, if you start in the regular season, you'll likely be able to draft some (via the expansion draft) some of the lower 1st round draft picks from 2016, like Labiessiere. I think starting in the offseason makes it harder for that reason alone (teams have so few players to protect in the expansion draft under contract at that point that you're really picking from the scrap heap).
                Any comments are welcome.

I wonder if the Bird years are due to those guys sitting out? That's my only guess, otherwise an error. Are you seeing this for all players?

Also, and this clears itself up once you start the season, but the stats all bump up one year so that, for example, last year's stats will show in the player card as 2017. Not sure if that triggers an error.

What I did was redo the entire offseason but use a generated fictional draft class so that it was more difficult and unpredictable. I loved the experience, but it's weird not having the 2016 draft class.

Not everywhere, but in some cases. Yi Jianlian, for the Lakers, has 1 bird year in the "Start in Regular season" option, but never played with the Lakers and, as far as I can track via Google, his rights were never traded to the Lakers.

Similarly, Greg Monroe of the Bucks has 6 bird years to him, but his rights were never traded to the Pistons -- they outright let him sign there and, my understanding of the CBA says that means his bird years should have reset to 0 at the time of signing, which means he should have only 1 bird year with the Bucks.

                        *shrugs*

Ultimately it doesn't matter if you're doing 30 team, but it's a weird glitch.

"Start in Regular season" is as close as I can find to most being right. The bird years are still off in a few places, but that shouldn't negatively impact things, mostly just guys who got added to the roster late.

There seems to be something seriously wrong with the sim engine in myleauge. I'm in year 3 of a Suns franchise and all of a sudden the scores in simulated games are incredibly low. All of my settings are the same as the 1st 2 seasons that I played and the sim scores and stats were good. But now every game has scores like 73-50, 67-58, 78-62, etc. This is with 12 min simulated quarters. I've tried messing around with some of the settings but nothing has helped. Anyone else seeing this?
