Is there an injured reserve? Lost Horford for 6-8 weeks with a broken ankle and wanted to sign some help from FA. I would have to waive a player to sign one. Is this my only option?

It seems like it. I had similar problem,as David Lee tore his achilles and is out for the season. I ended up trading scrubs for a decent backup,as there were no decent players in the FA

But, is there a way that I can add a player via free agent when I already have 15 on my roster (including 1 long term injury)?

Nope. All injured players still take up a space in your roster. You cannot expand it above 15 players.

            Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

I'm getting the game next week and I'll start a fully customized MyLeague. The story is that after the 2015-16 season the NBA decided to undergo a rebrand and everything will change. From logos, to courts, to jerseys(sponsored by Nike) and the structure of the League. I will start at the offseason and I'm adding all 6 expansion teams so each division has 6 teams.

            EASTERN CONFERENCE
            ATLANTIC DIVISION
            Boston Celtics
            New York Knicks
            Brooklyn Nets
            Philadelphia 76ers
            Baltimore Barons
            Washinghton Wizards
            CENTRAL DIVISION
            Milwaukee Bucks
            Chicago Bulls
            Detroit Pistons
            Cleveland Cavaliers
            Toronto Raptors
            Pittsburgh Force
            SOUTHEAST DIVISION
            Indiana Pacers
            Charlotte Hornets
            Atlanta Hawks
            New Orleans Pelicans
            Orlando Magic
            Miami Heat

            WESTERN CONFERENCE
            PACIFIC DIVISION
            Seattle Supersonics
            Portland Trail Blazers
            Sacramento Kings
            Golden State Warriors
            Los Angeles Clippers
            Los Angeles Lakers
            NORTHWEST DIVISION
            Vancouver Ravens
            Minnesota Timberwolves
            Las Vegas Aces
            Phoenix Suns
            Utah Jazz
            Denver Nuggets
            SOUTHWEST DIVISION
            Oklahoma City Thunder
            Memphis Grizzlies
            Kansas City Knights
            Houston Rockets
            San Antonio Spurs
            Dallas Mavericks

I think the structure is really good. I spent 3 hours making a map to figure out how to do it
Anyway, my problem is that I don't know what team to choose so I will ask for the people here to give me ideas. Remember, I am starting in the offseason so take that in mind. Also if you have any suggestions about the divisions let me know.

A little edit to my last post. I don't want to control an expansion team so whoever wants to give me an idea on what team to control keep that in mind as well

How many players are you allowing teams to retain?

I created my own team, the Saint Louis Knights. The expansion draft, I use 11 players protected, netted me players like Paul Pierce, Mike Miller, Andrew Harrison, C.J. Wilcox among others.

2016-2017 Season: we go 35-47. Andrew Harrison has emerged as a player to develop. Yi was a FA addition that gave me some needed bench scoring. Signed Vince Carter and Doug McDerrmitt(sp) to platoon at SF. Drafted Harry Gillis with 12th pick.

2017-2018: we go 42-40 and get the 7th seed in the West. We lose a heart breaking game 7 to OKC with Westbrook dunking on Vince to win the game. Looking to spend some cash on some free agents like Boogie and Melo this offseason.
I brought in Boogie and Melo after both were sitting with no offers on day 18 of 21. I had a ton of money and was ready to make a splash.

2018-2019: 52-30, the 4th seed in a much weaker Western Conferance. I get another chance at OKC. I take game 1 by 8 on the back of Melo's 36 points and Gilles grabbing a career high and team record 27 rebounds. I was able to hold Westbrook to just 18 points, most coming while starting point guard J. Grant was on the bench.
Relax, it's just a video game!

Who are the best backup wings who can become starters/stars (including the 2017 draft class). I'm looking for someone to cover the 2/3 for a Nuggets association.

Hey guys im about to start a MYGM but really stuck on who to play as. I like to go mid/low level teams and try to rebuild them (went as brooklyn last year).
Like a team with a nice court and jerseys.

Any ideas? im really stuck this year

I would go with the Bucks but that's propably cause I'm greek and in love with Parker
76ers would be a good idea though and Timberwolves would be good since they are not a top-level team but they are decent

                            **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Probably going to restart (hey 3rd time is the charm!) for an Expansion MyLeague bringing basketball back to Pittsburgh. I've been working in GIMP trying my best to take the great work that a local graphic designer has done and put it into the game. I did this last night and realized I screwed myself over by trading all of my future picks for Noel and Myles Turner.

With that being said, does Anybody have a good way of attacking the Expansion Draft? The first two attempts have left me with a rubbish team.

I haven't decided when I want to start the league, but I'm leaning towards the past offseason to mix things up, so that would probably take out any of the young guys that are left unprotected from the 2016 draft.

                            Any help, well, helps.

                              Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Started up a MyLeague with the Timberwolves a while back. Currently at February 27th 2017 so still in year 1. Our record is 32-27. We are currently battling for a playoff spot, just sitting on the fringe of the playoff picture with the 8th seed. Plan on rebranding the team but I'm keeping it realistic by waiting until the offseason. Might do the same for a few others as well. Also considering adding an expansion team or two. I play about 1 game a week on the schedule most of the time.

I control all teams but only interfere when nessicary, so I let them pretty much run themselves. We made 2 trades. The first one on 2/6/17 was between us and Dallas. Sent Gorgui Dieng and an 18 second rounder along with a 20 second rounder to Dallas for Seth Curry. My main reason behind that deal was the fact that Dieng's salary is really going to spike for the next few years and I didn't want to pay him that as a bench piece. Didn't plan on starting him. It gives the Mavs a younger option at C and PF and a replacement for the injury prone 32 year old Bogut who is a free agent after the current season. He (Bogut) is also currently injured. So they can let him walk without worry. The second rounders sweeten the deal for them.

The second deal was to help the team. We acquired Rudy Gay and Ty Lawson from the Kings for PG Tyus Jones, a 17 2nd round pick (Pelicans), 19 2nd round pick (Heat), and SF Brandon Rush. Lawson was basically a throw in, Gay was the real target. Gay was an expiring contract on a bad team who wasn't resigning with them in free agency so they needed whatever they could get for him instead of losing him for nothing. What we gave up was worth it, pieces I viewed as expendable. Not sure if I'm gonna make a play or not to bring Rudy Gay back in free agency but mainly acquired him to aid our playoff push. Want to bring playoff basketball back to Minnesota for the first time since 2003-2004.

Thought about moving Rubio to open up more salary. Already gave Dunn the starting PG job a long time ago. Might move him on Draft night, chose not to move him as I figured our playoff chances were better with then without Ricky Rubio.

Here's the current playoff picture out West:
                              Golden State Warriors: 49-9
                              San Antonio Spurs: 38-20
                              Memphis Grizzlies 37-23
                              Portland Trail Blazers 35-23
                              Los Angeles Clippers 34-25
                              Oklahoma City Thunder 33-26
                              Houston Rockets 33-27
                              Minnesota Timberwolves 32-27.

Will probaly update again at the end of the season.

if you were doing all 6 expansions teams. after year 1. how many would you leave protected? 10, 11? I want it to be fair. Would love some suggestions.
