    Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Like each year, started a Bulls MyLeague save after getting the game using the Start Today feature (2k13 memories) and after somehow managing to sneak into the playoffs lost to the Cavs (who lost 4-1 to the Rockets in the finals because 2k), then saw the Kings (who had a lottery protected pick at the Bulls) somehow get Lonzo Ball at 6 because 2k (Malik Monk went 1st, dumb Lakers), but then Free Agency came and oh boy, ohhhhhh booooi.
I have no idea how, but after getting not resigning everyone, including Wade (after removing his player option because he's not going to activate it irl), besides Felicio and Grant (love him) I got Jrue Holiday, Blake Griffin and Gordon Hayward.
    My lineup?
    PG Jrue Holiday 81
    SG Jimmy G Buckets 92
    SF Gordon Hayward 88
    PF Blake Griffin 89
    C Robin Lopez 78

Needless to say we're gonna win the long awaited 7th title this season.

      Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

I started with OKC and immediately relocated back to seattle. The goal was to strip the team down (aka trade russ for picks and/or young talent) and rebuild from scratch. I've been simming regular seasons and playing playoffs if I make it.

My second season I made the playoffs with a rookie Markelle Fultz and Wiggins at SF. Lost in 7 to Denver. Assuming I was on my way up, I was pretty bummed that I didn't make the playoffs for the next 5 seasons and eventually moved on from Wiggins (he topped out at about 84-not great) and rebuilt yet again around Fultz and newly acquired Jamal Crawford Jr.

Just this morning played and won the final game of the regular season to overtake houston for the 8 seed and beat Golden State by 4 in game one of the playoffs. (Golden State is now an aging Steph and Klay, supported by UNC's Jackson and an old Whiteside at Center.

Pretty pumped about potentially running an upset in this series later this evening. My team is actually ranked 5th overall but an extended injury to Fultz early in the season really butchered my reg. season record. Plus, for some reason my team really doesn't sim up to expectations for some reason...

Me and some friends just started our first league, we did a fantasy draft and I like my roster a lot. We are curious how progression works though, do your players get better based on game stats? Do their badges upgrade or can they earn new badges?

          Thanks for any help guys.

Anybody else has gotten in a situation where a player from the CPU team gets 6 fouls (therefore fouled out) but keeps playing ?

I'm wanting to start a MyGM where I "fix" the Knicks and I want it to be an expanded league. Can you add expansion teams in later seasons or do you have to do it when you start?

I want to just simulate 2016-17 season and just pick up in offseason

                    "How's your MyGM going?"

                    Not good, OP. Not good.

I'm doing an Orlando Magic MyGM, since that's my favorite team, and as expected, I am struggling something fierce to have any success. I've only won 2 user controlled games. I've probably played somewhere around a dozen.

I have some solid shooters in Fournier, Terrence Ross, Jodie Meeks, and Mario Hezonja, but I can't find any sort of success with them in finding their shot. No matter how open I get them, and how good a shot I get with set feet and wide open, I just can't get them to go in on any sort of regular basis. I then made a trade, getting rid of Jeff Green and some reserves that my owner wanted me to move (Dajman and Wilcox) to Dallas for Seth Curry and Wesley Matthews, both strong 3 point shooters, and again, I can't buy a basket with them no matter how clean a shot I get.

Meanwhile, on the flip side, the CPU can make contested shots or fall away jumpers from beyond the 3 point arc with ease.

I'm fully happy to have to rebuild, I know that success shouldn't come easy with the Magic. In 2K16 I went the "rebuild" route, and was able to win a championship off the backs of LeBron and Kobe via free agency, and misrated Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton who were knock down 3 point shooters. Also built up a lot of other 3 point shooters to surround them in Hezonja, Lance Stephenson, and drafting Brandon Ingram.

But even with B+ and A rated 3 point shooters, it feels like the 3 point shooting is more difficult this year. Which certainly makes things difficult.

My goal this year is to focus on my owner's "18 road victory" goal that he gave me, so I'm using road games to try to scout my team and see what kinds of pieces I want to keep to build around, and what pieces are expendable. But it's difficult when it feels like guys can't even play to their strengths.

                      Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Just started my first non-expansion team MyGM. Took over the Knicks to fix them. I did make it an expansion year though. Added 6 teams and tried to make them as realistic as possible, cities that don't have winter sports and some with no pro sports at all.
                      1. Seattle SuperSonics (duh)
                      2. Kentucky Colonels (not sure if Colonels mascot would fly in this PC age but I love the branding on the team)
                      3. San Diego Sails (another ABA throwback team)
                      4. Austin Lone Stars (Austin is largest city in country without a professional sports team)
                      5. Kansas City Express (found awesome user created template with train-like branding)
                      6. Richmond Rhinos (but changed their color scheme to old brown, orange and red of the Virginia Squires)
I wanted to purge all the cancers holding back the Knicks so I actually left Rose and Noah unprotected in the expansion draft and traded Melo for a 2017 1st rd pick and 2018 2nd. I also made a trade during the draft so had 3 first round picks which I turned into Frank Ntilikina, Jonathan Isaac, and Donovan Mitchell. Also got Trier early in 2nd round.
Signed Chris Paul for 2 years as my major free agent while Ntilikina develops. Hopefully my owner is patient lol

                        Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Still struggling, but I'm starting to find some things that are working, and I've won 2 straight user games.

It feels kinda cheesy, but I gotta get it how I can, I basically just run pick and roll with Payton and either Vucevic or Gordon. Payton is good enough that he can drive it to the basket, and if the defense crashes down on him, kicking it to a driving Vuc or Gordon will typically result in a dunk. Of course, the defense at times will rotate down onto Vuc or Gordon, which allows me to kick it out to one of my shooters - Fournier, Ross, Matthews, or Meeks.

It's been working with my 2nd unit as well, with Curry running the pick and roll with Biyombo and whoever is in between Vuc and Gordon. Been having success with Curry getting to the rim as well.

Vucevic and Gordon are basically a nightly double double with points and rebounds, and Payton usually racks up a double double in points and assists. In fact, Payton is leading the league in assists in my league, with 9.9 pg.

Payton is due to become a free agent at the end of the year, so I'll have to decide if I want to pick up his option or not. If I am able to continue running the offense with him the way I have been, I likely will. Although I would like to have a PG who can also shoot.

At $17m per season, I'm pretty much stuck with Fournier, unless I want to try to move him in a big deal, possibly off-season. I think I have Ross and Matthews under contract for a couple years too. Meeks is really the only one that will be coming off the books, and with Fournier, Ross, Matthews, Curry, and Hezonja, I don't see myself really needing him.

Who knows, maybe I can find a way to flip Fournier's contract and perhaps some picks into an anchor piece to build around.

                          Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Not sure where to post this as I couldn't find a MyLeague impressions thread. Life has been busy and I rarely have time for video games these days but I had today off and decided to finally fire up a MyLeague in 2K17 for the first time. Figured I'd finally get some 2K time in during the real-life playoffs.

I just simmed my first year and I'm at a loss for words. Is the mode mess? Some things I noticed...
                          1. Both Popovich and Steve Kerr were fired after the season. Hornacek disappeared from my team.
                          2. During the draft, 7 of the first 9 picks were traded including some absolutely awful deals - trading two guys in the mid 70's for a Top 10 pick.
                          3. I'm the Knicks, I traded Courtney Lee at the deadline. Lee just completed the first year of his 4/$48m deal and at the free agency portion of the off-season he's a UFA. How is that possible?
                          4. The built-in draft classes are a mess in terms of appearances. Wacky numbers, accessories and tons of guys with cornrows like it's the early 2000s. Granted custom draft classes are available, I was surprised at how wonky the 2K ones are.

Are there some basic tips or sliders for MyLeague?

                            Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Decided to finally get started with a My League, since the last patch improved the game, and it felt like it did on Day1.

I typically follow what happens IRL, but decided to do 2 MyLeague's, one where its my own little world and Im the GM of the Pacers. Then I will have a 2nd MyLeague that I follow what happens IRL. I saved a few Start todays, a few days ago, rather than try to set all rosters back to Opening Night.

In the 1 Im doing right now, where I let things play out however the game see fit. I had 2 games left in the season, with at Philly , then I finish the season at home against Atlanta. In a very close game at Philly I was able to pull out a 3 pt win, in a tighter contest than I thought it would be, but I just couldnt get any shots to fall, but a late spurt by PG13 and Miles Turner grabbing 18 rebounds, I was able to prevail, and lock up the 7th seed. Rather than rest my players in the last game, I decided to play them, but that wasnt enough as I lost to the Hawks in a very tight game. I lead for the majority of the game, as I was on fire from 3pt range, but never could get a comfortable lead, because the Hawks were draining it from 3pt land too. Late in the 4th qtr, I went cold, and lost by 4.

Playoffs are set, and the seeding ended up being true to what it is in real life. So I play the 2nd seed Cavs in the 1st rd. Im hoping to atleast win 1 game, so I dont get swept, lol. Everytime I played the Cavs in Play Now games, as I was tweaking my sliders since the last patch, I got beat badly, so Im not expecting much different results now.

Im actually looking forward to the Off Season, as this will be the 1st time, in years that I havent followed what goes on IRL, in my Association. Although I do hope I can somehow knock the Cavs, and prolonged it for a little while.

Even though this MyLeague is my fantasy world 1, I still will keep things realistic as far as who I sign, or trade for, so that means since Im the Pacers, I wont be signing no big time FA, or trading for a elite player, that I know would never come to the Pacers IRL.

Since it now seems that PG13 isnt a lock to resign with us after next season, Im thinking about going for the Home town boy Gordon Hayward this summer in FA. My thinking is I can pair Hayward and PG13 together for 1 yr, and see if I can win a championship, and I might try to bring back George Hill, and have him be my 6th man. That is if I can resign Jeff Teague. I figure it would be worth it to make a run, for that 1 yr, then let PG13 go elsewhere if he wants to, as I dont think I could afford to have Both Gordon Hayward, and PG13 long term, as I figure it will take close to a max deal, or a max deal to get Hayward. I might just try to improve the team around PG13, and hope I can resign him ater next season, as I figure he will likely opt out of his player option after next season.

Draft wise, I would like to draft a good pg, to back up Teague, as I plan on resigning Teague, , but really would like a bigger pg, to match up with some of the stronger pg in the league that Teague struggles with. Its that or Im going after a SG in the draft as my 1st rd pick, and I would like a SG that can stretch the D with his perimeter shooting.

Im also considering firing Nate, Im not impressed with him IRL, and unless I can somehow make a deep playoff run, Nate may be on his way out. Personally I prefer smash mouth basketball, but still want to be able to run when the opportunity is there, but I want my team to be good on the boards and play hard nosed defense. Thats what Indiana Pacers basketball was about IRL all these years, till Bird decided he wanted to play small ball. I respect the heck out of Larry Bird, but Im not all that fond of his small ball idea that he has transitioned too. So I plan on bringing back a more smash mouth style ball, but I still want to be able to be able to get out on the FB and push it.

Im going to be using real Draft Classes, SkillazKill. They are pretty good, and he has the next 3 yrs worth of classes, then if my MyLeague last longer than that, then I will probably use fictional ones. Probably not going to be buying NBA2k18, or it will take the devs turning their attention and focus more to Association mode, than they do online play, for me to buy next yrs game, anyway, and I dont see that happening, so this Association will probably last for several years. I also play all the games, or most of them going forward anyway.

                              Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

After those 3 straight user wins, I'm back aboard the struggle train with my Magic, losing consecutive user games to the Pacers and the Knicks. Strategies that had been working (using the Pick & Roll to drive Payton to the hole, or to kick off to a driving Vuc or Gordon, while setting up the occasional outside shot from Ross / Fournier / Curry / Matthews / Meeks / Hezonja) went dry, and things started going south in a hurry.

It is frustrating in the regard that - I'm unsure how I can actually upgrade the talent on my team if guys that are highly rated in a particular area - I.E. shooting - still can't shoot. It's frustrating when I have A and B+ rated shooters going 0-for from the field, and I have to rely basically exclusively on open dunks to generate points. I know I don't have a lot of overall talent on my team, but if I have an A rated shooter, shooting a wide open shot from a hot spot with set feet and a good release, I expect to have a chance to hit the shot.

I don't want to tweak sliders all that much, because I am taking over the Magic, so I -should- struggle, and in years past, acquiring better talent -did- improve my results, so I am still holding out hope that an offseason of talent acquisition can help, but it's frustrating when I feel I'm using my guys to their strengths and still can't see improved results.

Just Started an new NBA today to run into next season right now really looking at controlling the Bulls and rebuild the team from the ground up and looking at moving Butler and letting Wade go in FA presuming he doesn't pick up his option. Would like Wade to stay on but at an reduced rate and play as a sixth man off the bench the goal is to build the Bulls back into Eastern powerhouses. Hired Ron Adams from GSW as the new head coach with recently retired Andre Miller as assistant as well.

So Far the Magic have won the Lottery so no doubt there taking Ball or Fultz my play is to trade Butler for as much as I can get into the lottery and take either Tatum,Jackson or Ball/Fultz who ever falls. Was thinking this for Boston since they have the 4th pick.

                                Crowder

                                18 1st Top 10 Proc

                                Lopez
                                Butler
                                18 2nd

Bulls get the top 4 pick they want along with two starters in Bradley and Crowder the Celts get there 2nd Superstar in Butler and also an Center that can rebound and defend the rim somewhat and allows Horford to Move to PF.

                                Thoughts?
