Think of starting one with 76ers but what you guys like more my GM or my league
It kind of depends what you are looking to do?

GM = If you want to take complete ownership of a teams finances (ticket sales, concessions), team morale/chemistry (meet w/ players & staff to keep their morale up/give pep talks/etc), MyGM is great for these reasons. It is not so great because the CPU makes dumb trades with other CPU teams and you have no way to veto/stop those trades. Also during the offseason owners vote on rule changes and even if you disagree with a rule change (ex. move shot clock to 45 seconds) the owners can still approve this rule change and you have no way to stop it.

MyLeague - Is probably the consensus favorite for most guys on this forum because they can take ownership of all teams in terms of having veto power to stop CPU trades that make no sense, denying rule changes that the owners may have approved as you always can override what they decide, and depending if you like/dislike not having to meet with players every day to give them a pep talk because they complain about practice tempo/etc.

So ultimately either one is great, it just depends if you want that fun feeling of being a GM of one team or having more control of what happens throughout the entire league. FYI, both modes allow for expansion teams/relocation/team redesigns if that is something that interests you as well.

I can't seem to find anything under the Sliders area so hoping you MyLeague guys can help me out.

Do you have any good MyLeague settings that you utilize to help give realistic CPU resigning valuable RFAs, CPU trade negotiation difficulty, good regression/progression ratings, and etc.?

Looking for some ideas of teams that are fun to play with, and involve some slight rebuilding...

For example I'm thinking of the Pelicans as one idea (The Brow is a stud and you can build around him), but they could certainly use some renovations as they are one of the worst teams record wise in the NBA.

Any other teams you can think of in this category?

I had good experiences with the Aerios set. I think it's on the top page of the PS4 downloads. All I did was emphasize the player in-season progression l. For resignings, players will decline options, but often the team that let them go is aggressive enough to bring them back. I've yet to see anybody above 87 OVR switch teams despite declining their player option. Even if you're on my league, you can always control all teams and resign players for their respective teams too.

Got into the 2nd season with big improvement overall with the addition of ibaka and josh jackson. Managed to get 4th seed but injuries got in the way so we have to trade for kris dunn for two future 1st picks from den (2018) and bos (2019) we gave up burke, skal with this and got two fillers in pekovic and mo williams. I waived those two signed two rookies, one from kansas with complicated name i now have 4 kansas rookies playing for kansas city

Then after two 30 pt games of dunn, he got injured for 4-6 weeks.

Now 32-19 5th seed in the west with ibaka, olynyk and dunn injured.

Starting lineup: ibaka, patterson, jackson, redick, dunn
Bench: smith, olynyk, robinson, beasley, graham
Reserve: jeanne, diallo, beachum, milhaikuk (wrong spelling im sure), mason III

Finnaly decided to start Jazz ML. HoF custom sliders, 12 min, 29 games.

After 2 games 0-2, lost by 20 v Lakers at Home, and by 10 @Nuggets :/ also lost Hayward for 4-6 weeks, due to severe sprain ankle. Hope to reach playoff, but I suck so far Gobert is my fav player after 2 games, avg double-double and 5,5 blocks, so I hope he will carry my team during absensce of Hayward.

                Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Expansion GM team, the Virginia Freedom based in Richmond, VA. Was 26-14 through 40 games and in 3rd place in the east. Expansion roster:

                PG Ty Lawson
                SG Tony Allen
                SF Wilson Chandler
                PF Taj Gibson
                C Roy Hibbert
                6th Ersan Illyasova
                Shabaaz Muhammed
                Brandon Jennings
                Miles Plumlee
                Domanatas Motiejounas
                Marcus Thornton
                Ivan zubac
                Chieck Diallo

Felt given my record and standing needed to make a bold move. The hornets were about 15 games below .500 and selling, having moved Batum already. Felt like it was a good time to add my franchise player instead of navigate the draft.

Move 3 unprotected 1st rd picks, Jennings and Illyasova (expiring contracts) for Kemba and Marvin Williams.

It's a bold move but I get kemba in his prime and instantly have my franchise player with still some good cap room.

                Thoughts????

10 games remaining into the end of season 2, we are hanging around in the 6th seed with 41-31, 2 games behind twolves and a game above the blazers. Jackson has been leading us with 18pts 8reb 4ast 2stl and 1 blk and 2nd in ROY behind lonzo ball. We are doing well but had struggled after the all star break due to injuries, with redick (our only reliable shooter) out for 4 weeks.
Also we have around 7 back to backs after all star weekend and we are not winning well so far.

Spurs, warriors, Utah and Houston are the top 4 so I'm still looking on the potential matchups and which of them we can possibly upset in the 1st round. So far Houston might be our best matchup as we couldn't win against those other three.

                    Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

Finally won the chip in 2022 with my 76'ers MyGM!

Have to say I used a custom roster where I bumped the potential for Simmons (94) and Embiid (92) along with small attribute/potential and a lot of tendencies (especially for the rookies) customisations across the league, nothing unrealistic though (unless you think that's being too generous towards Simmons).

Took a weird path towards it though... I obviously wanted to build a dynasty around Simmons and Embiid. Created a KILLER playbook in the beginning where Simmons - as the main ball handler would receive a lot of screens from Joel that got Embiid a lot of buckets from either rolling or popping when Simmons couldn't create the lane to slash towards the hoop, and when neither was open, Simmons would just kick it to either Saric or Stauskas who would then be open for the jumper. I reached the playoffs in my first two seasons, all though both ended in the first round getting eliminated by the Cavs and Wizards respectively; still a huge success with such a young roster. Simmons won the Rookie of the Year, all though Embiid was the leading scorer amongst rookies with his 21 PPG. Simmons averaged 16, 8 and 6 in his rookie year!

So things were going according to plans moving in to my third seasons. Embiid and Simmons continued to progress, Saric was showing signs of becoming an elite third option and McConnel did a decent job along with Stauskas in the backcourt all though I was eventually going to upgrade the backcourt in the future in order to eventually make a title run.

                    Roster:
                    McConnell
                    Stauskas
                    Simmons
                    Saric
                    Embiid

Tim Frazier (acquired when trading Jahlil to the Pelicans, who btw is a contender by now with the AD/Jahlil frontcourt)
Luwawu (actually develops into a decent sixth man down the line!)
                    Covington
                    Holmes
                    Noel

Then a good amount of games in to the third season, Embiid drops the nuclear on me; he demands to be traded! Says there's "too many top dogs" on the roster, referring to Simmons, and gives me the option to trade Simmons or him. He actually did that in the first season as well, but I had the option to promise him more touches which I did. Bumped his minutes and gave him first scoring option. Didn't know what else I could do to increase his touches so I figured I had to trade him. I was unable to find any good value for him, so on the trading deadline day I was forced with taking Justise Winslow, some role player i don't remember and a 1st+2nd round pick.... Embiid was a beast already at this point, and the Simmons Embiid pick and roll was working wonders, so you can imagine how fuming I was at getting a small forward. Had to deal with it though, so I decided to go full Magic Johnson on Simmons and move him to point guard:

                    Simmons
                    Stauskas
                    Winslow
                    Saric
                    Noel

Side remark: Simmons is quick and agile enough to play the point, but there's something nagging me about. I obviously have him guarding Lebron, KD etc. and then mostly Winslow will move down and guard the opponents point guard. The smart thing for the opponent to do is clearly to not have Kyrie, Steph guard a 6'10 Ben Simmons, but instead match him up with their best wing defender, but they never do, which makes it way too easy to score when I play the games. I once tried being guarded by 5 foot 9 inches small Kay Felder when Kyrie was injured. I could just blow right past him or back him down all the way from the perimeter until they started doubling.... Anyway to make the opponent more intelligent when it comes to detecting mismatches?

We didn't make the playoffs that year, but Simmons played great, I think he almost averaged a triple double at around 20, 9, 8.5.

Next season we made it back to the promised land and have been making it there every season since. Got eliminated relatively early each year, except for the 2021 season where we got swept by Lebron (who is 37 and has 5 rings) and the Cavs in the conference finals... Simmons won MVP that year though, averaging 23, 10 and 10!!!!!!!! Making him the third player behind The Big O and Russ (who did that in the 16/17 season) to average a triple double. The rotation and gameplan is working smoothly, it's a joy to play with this team! Lots of pick and rolls, lots Simmons -> Noel oops, lots of open jumpers sailing in from Stauskas, Saric and even Luwawu coming in as the sixth man and on defence I'm having a block fest with Noel and Simmons. Luwawu has developed in to a really decent scorer from the bench and Winslow is an elite perimeter defender that makes up for starting Stauskas, who benefits tremendously by having a passing wizard like Simmons consistently collapsing the defence by slashing and commanding double teams in the paint. Saric is a good overall stretch four, and he fits in perfectly as a player who can open the lanes and make it easier for the more athletic players I have in the starting five as I have three guys with a horrible jumper in there. I've worked a lot on Simmons' jumper in training and especially in the pre season training camps, and it's at a "respectable level by now", but still not close to consistent.

Next season went perfectly! Simmons made his fifth all star selection, along with Saric making his 2nd appearance. Simmons was also 1st team all NBA and all defence. Finished the season with a 59-23 record, with Simmons taking a big jump in scoring averaging 25, 10 and 8.5 along with 1.5 block and 1.5 steals.
We rematched Lebron and the pretty much intact Cavs roster in the conference finals where Simmons finally beat his mentor (lol) and we won in a game 7 at home. The finals matchup was great. The Minnesota Timberwolves had managed to keep their young talent and made it to the finals by way of the Trailblazers in the conference finals with a starting lineup of:

                    Norman (auto-generated rookie, 83 OVR)
                    LaVine (84 OVR)
                    Wiggins (90 OVR)
                    Thomas Robinson (75 OVR)
                    KAT (94)

(I used Embracethepace's rookies classes, but have been using auto generated classes since, haven't seen any freaks in those yet though, except for a ROTY-winner averaging 21 points, but that's not really as bad as it could have been.)

My rotation have stayed pretty much intact, but here it is:

                    Simmons, 40 minutes (95 OVR)
                    Stauskas, 24 minutes (77 OVR)
                    Winslow, 34 minutes (82 OVR)
                    Saric, 32 minutes (83 OVR)
                    Noel, 36 minutes (84 OVR)

                    Luwawu 24 minutes (78 OVR)
                    Onuaku, 16 minutes (76 OVR)
                    Snell, 14 minutes (73 OVR)
                    Cauley-Stein, 12 minutes (74 OVR)
                    Frazier, 8 minutes (72 OVR)

                    Kuzma, PF, (71 OVR)
                    Harrison, SG (72 OVR)
                    O'Quinn, C (68 OVR)
                    Cunningham, PG (69 OVR)
                    Hickson, C (65 OVR)

I played all games on HoF difficulty, all though simming out parts of the games that was leading towards blow-outs, and managed to take home the chip in 6 games. Simmons obviously winning MVP averaging 31, 9 and 11
Stauskas got injured after the first game, I made him play though it, but reduced his minutes to 12 and bumped Luwawu to 36 minutes and the starting spot, which was probably a good idea anyway as it could have been difficult handling Lavine and Wiggins along with their rookies who kept on dropping 3 pointers on Stauskas in the first game (which I lost) with Stauskas being a liability on defence.

The roster is still young, all the top players are pretty much in their prime, Simmons is only 26, only a few of the reserves are deep-thirties and most of the backups still have a few years in them where they'll be useful. This team should easily become a dynasty. Goal is to top Lebron's ring tally and win six of them, tying MJ. It's going to be hard to do so if Noel (28), Saric (28), Stauskas (29) and Luwawu (27) will be part of it, even if I somehow win 5 in a row, which I doubt is possible with only one superstar. So I might have to make a blockbuster trade a few years from now and replace the older ones in the bunch with some younger talent, but let's see. First MyGM save I've enjoyed so far in 2K17, so I'll probably play out Simmons' career and see if he can beat MJ and Lebron as goats in this save.

Just some bonus info about the save in general.

As for how Embiid's career has turned out so far: After I gave him a max contract, and he then demanded the trade, he got moved to the Miami Heat. His overall was at a 92. One of the very best big men in the game. He averaged plus 21 and 22 point in his two season on my 76'ers. Miami still had Whiteside, so a pretty odd frontcourt, where Embiid only managed to average 18 points, eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Bucks. Next season he teamed up with the Nets. Averaged 18 points again and didn't go to the playoffs. I remember playing them where his best teammates was LeVert and Hollis-Jefferson...

He is now playing for the raptors in a starting lineup of Lowry (78 OVR), an 82 OVR rookie, Jeramy Grant and Jon Leuer. He has not been to the playoffs since his one season in Miami and has never again averaged 20 points. His OVR has moved down to an 88 at only 28 years old, so I guess he had a lot of injuries. Meanwhile, Winslow is doing a great job at being a lockdown defender and a fastbreak scorer on my 76'ers team. I'm not really mad at that trade anymore, all though I love Embiid IRL.

The Warriors kept their superstars together up until this season where Draymond went into free agency. However, their bench was paper thin throughout and they never won a ring. Even when Steph and Durant both managed to average 30 PPG in the same season, they succumbed to Lebron and the Cavs in the finals.

Lebron took home the MVP trophy in 2018 (5 total) Won the chip in 2017 and 2021 (5 total) (I think they made it to the finals each year except one...). Was 1st team all NBA each year until 2022 (15 total) and 1st team all defence in 2017, 2019 and 2021 (8 total). This season he finally surpassed Kareem at all time leading scorer, second after Kareem in all time field goals made (won't surpass him though, top 30 in all time rebounds, fourth in all time assist after Stockton, Kidd and CP3 and second after Kareem in all time minutes played. It's a close call between him and Jordan as GOAT by now. They're still a contender btw, with a starting lineup of Irving, Oladipo, James, Love and Tristan...

Emanuel Mudiay and George Hill has DOMIANTED the sixth man of the year awards with Mudiay winning three and Hill winning two.

Kawhi Leonard has won 4 defensive player of the year awards, so he's at 6 total, making him the best perimeter defender of all time.

The Knicks, building around Porzingis have turned the franchise around through the draft and is rocking a startling lineup of Porzingis surrounded by Jayson Tatum and three auto generated rookies, all 80+OVR.

The Lakers is scary to try and defend with Russell, Rodney Hood, Ingram, Deandre Ayton and Jordan Clarkson along with some decent auto-generated rookies too!

Pelicans is probably the best team in the West along with the Wolves: Kris Dunn (78 OVR), Buddy Hield (86 OVR), Maurice Harkless (76 OVR), Anthony Davis (95 OVR) and Jahlil Okafor (85 OVR)...

Spurs are being the Spurs, Kawhi is obviously the new Tim Duncan, still a beast as his age is progressing. Jonathan Simmons and Dejounte Murray has taken over from Tony and Manu while the front court is solid with a 78 OVR auto-generated rookie and Marques Bolden. They've made the playoffs each year I think.

Westbeast is still trying to carry a VERY mediocre Thunder team, filling up the stats sheet, but not really winning anything.

Lillard and McCollum remains with the Trailblazers who's been decent throughout, advancing deep in to the playoffs consistently, but lacking that third piece to make them real contenders, same goes for Wall and Beal with the Wizards.

Curry, Klay and Durant are all old men now, but they're still a playoff team with the Warriors, Draymond was with them last season too, but he's now a mediocre role player on the Bulls, who btw has been terrible during this trade. Jimmy Butler is still there though, along with Bobby Portis who is actually decent and starting over Draymond.

Top 15 rated players in the league:

                        Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

It's the year 2021 in my Grizzlies franchise. Z-Bo and Tony Allen both retired but I managed to win a ring with them before they left, Z-Bo also won back to back 6th man of the year awards. Vince Carter was there for the title run and hit the game winning shot of the conference final (game 7) and scored 21 points in game 6 of the finals to help them win it all. One last hurrah for him.

                        Current roster (overall);

                        Mike Conley (85)
                        Devin Booker (89)
                        Iman Shumpert (75)
                        Deyonta Davis (79)
                        Marc Gasol (84)
                        6th: Wade Baldwin(78)
                        7th: Justin Bibbs(73)
                        8th: JaMychal Green(74)
                        9th: Donatas Motiejunas (I forgot)
                        +scrubs.

I have 3 draft picks in the upcoming draft. I'm contemplating trading Gasol and Conley for picks/young talent and rebuilding. We haven't made it back to the conf finals never mind the finals since winning it all. Missed the playoffs last year.

                        Other interesting tid bits;

Draymond Green just won DPOY while LeBron won his 6th MVP award. Draymond has also won 2 NBA Finals MVP awards while the Warriors kept their core three intact, KD left for Philly to form a HoF worthy frontcourt with Simmons and Embiid. Curry has 3 rings now and Warriors are on track for a fourth.

Cavs/LBJ have never won another title. Although LBJ did win the MVP and DPOY award in the same season after Kyrie was dealt with a season ending injury.

OKC still very mediocre outside of Westbrook.

Wall and Washington have been in the conference finals three years in a row.

Porzingis has lead the league in scoring 2 years in a row since Melo was dealt to the Hawks.

Popovich is coaching the Bucks who have yet to make it out of the second round but have been a top 3 team every season since he got there.

                        The Lakers are still terrible.

List of NBA title winners in MyLeague

                          Year 1 - Warriors
                          Year 2 - Thunder
                          Year 3 - Rockets
                          Year 4 - Rockets
                          Year 5 - Celtics

After winning the title the first year Curry left the Warriors and signed with the Rockets. KD stayed with the Thunder and won league MVP 3 years in a row. LeBron signed with the Celtics and through some trades the Celtics were able to get 2 top 5 drafts picks and drafted Grant Alabaster (which I modeled after Curry) and Yao Ming.

Just hit the All-Star break in my Lakers MyLeague. Had a a nice 9-game wining streak that was snapped by the Sus=ns in my last game before the break. Thanks to the streak I moved up from 13th out West into the 9th spot and I'm 2-games back in the loss column to the 8th seed Nuggets.

D'Angelo Russell is leading the team in points (17.5), assist (6.0), and steals (1.5) in 27.6 minutes a game. He along with Brandon Ingram and Nick Young will be participating in All-Star weekend with the two youngsters playing in the Rising Stars game and Swaggy P in the Three-Point contest.

Around the league Warriors (47-8), Cavaliers (40-15), and Houston Rockets (43-15) have the best three records in the league. Each team has a player in the MVP race with James Harden leading the way putting up 31.1 ppg, 8.1 rpg, and 9.8 apg. LeBron James is also stuffing that stat sheet with 23.4 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 8.2 apg, 2.3 spg, and 1.8 bpg. Kevin Durant rounds out the trio with 23.6 ppg, 7.2 rpg, and 4.6 apg.

How often do player badges upgrade in the off-season? I noticed Tony Allen's gold defensive stopper & pick dodger badges are upgraded to hall of fame in the second season of my franchise. May have to nab him from the Grizz haha.

Just retired my Sacramento Kings MyLeague which ran for 5 seasons. I was able to build through the drafting picking Markelle Fultz after the 1st season and then Michael Porter Jr and DeAndre Ayton (trade with Celtics) to provide the backbone of the team. The starting 5 was complete when we signed Khris Middleton and traded for Serge Ibaka. We were able to make it to the playoffs in the 3rd season which resulted in a 2nd round knockout from the Rockets. The 4th season ended with a 4-0 sweep of the Wizards to finally give the Kings a NBA Championship.

Unfortunately, the last season ended with a Markelle Fultz and a 4-1 series loss to the Warriors. Was a fun ride and I'm glad that the Kings won a championship (which they are years/decades away from now).
