What's the recommended approach? I have 5 guys on 20 mill plus, 70 mill loss in my 6th season. I now have the Analytics badge. I adjusted ticket price to "fair value". But my attendance dropped to 78%. It seems the systems limits revenue based on market size? Just asking if you can share experience.

I go about handling the finance differently depending on the team I'm using and their situation. The common denominator is always making sure the pricing are balanced, so that I take the maximum price I can get away with while not scaring customers away, and that the funds allocation is balanced out nice and evenly, allowing me to generate revenue simultaneously to signing good staff members and players.
If you're trying to rebuild, the optimal situation is to have a group of young guns on cheap contracts, who will peak around the same seasons. This allows you to extend their draft contracts for four years. Just before you have to pay them the max, you have the option to go out and sign another max player to surround them with, and then pay them the max afterwards, because you can then go above the cap due to bird years.
If you're trying to win now you don't have to think too much about it. Just do what's necessary to get that chip. It's a good idea to have a few cheap, young guns on a contending team, to ease up the transition period, but in regards to cap space, worry about that afterwards.
It's always smart to assess your team every season. If you've been contending for numerous seasons, and your star players are getting there age-wise, you might want to look a bit further. Either look to replace them with young talent or draft picks, or get ready to tank for a few years when your stars' contracts do expire. If you're legit tanking, make sure that you're spending as little as possible on contracts, always great to take advantage of that situation and create some profit that way around. I always try to have my most expensive players expire the same year, as it gives me great freedom to re-assess the team, but that's hard to do and definitely not a necessity.Comment

I'm not sure to what extent the market factors in. It definitely predetermines what budget your owner is willing to give you, and it should make it easier for you to generate profit, but to what extent - I'm not sure.

(Not adjusted for inflation)
1st option: 25m (drafted and extended to max contract)
2nd option: 20m
3rd option: 15m
4th option: 10m
5th option:8m
6th: option 5m
And then 9 guys on minimum deals: 9m
Total: 94mComment

In my experience, if you lower their loyalty in edit player there is more of a possibility they will leave. I think CP3's loyalty is a 90 which makes him stay pretty much all the time but if you lower it to about 56 or so I think he'll look to head elsewhere or even still be open to staying. Sim a season or two & mess with it.Comment

Iv run prob 10 total seasons of MYGM and it does get extremely easy and your teams get extremely OP eventually.
To combat this I just made a new one and said screw it and used a legends roster so now everyone should have an OP team for a couple seasons at least.
This plus tweaking of sliders has at least after 30 games made me feel like I was playing in an even league. I drafted a team according to what I thought my playstyle was gonna be and I ended up losing a lot. I'm around 18-13 right now and iv only just gotten my first good win streak at 5. I had 3 starters out for like 6-8 weeks. I figured out I'm a pick and roll guy who likes to push off rebounds so I got some guys who could push pace really well and Iv seen improvement.
I'm just glad it isn't super easy anymore. At this rate I'll finish 4th in my conference and I have no idea if I can win a title. That's how I like it

I can beast at 2k with 1 guy, but controlling 5 guys has been difficult... the help is awful and my cpu teammates are really really stupid compared to playing with humans.
I'm super frustrated, any tips?
That's why I don't play ranked matches
It seems like everyone but me knows the right defense to play in this years game
The best guys Iv played seem like they are playing tight on shooters, collapsing the paint on drives and manually moving their computer defenders into position very quickly.
On offense they seem to have varied techniques but most guys end up running picks and rolls and going one on one with their center hoping for a foul.
I too have a problem where it seems like my defenders are stupid. I know I'm just bad at the game but it seems like stuff isn't responsive. I know what I want to happen but I don't know the game and settings well enough to relay to the game what I want.
If I had complete control I'd want all picks switched, I'd want guys guarding shooters in the corner to NEVER play help D, I'd want guys at the top of the key to give their man cushion and I'd want guys to trap guys like Harden LeBron Kyrie and Curry of screens.
Ranked and leagues turn me away anyway because no one is ever friendly on the mic. As soon as I mic up to say hi I get cussed out for no reason. Like dudes have never won a game of 2k before

In settings there's player lock. Not sure if it's available for online.Comment

Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**
Sup peeps,
Finally, 2k fixed the contract glitch in MyLeague, I started a Start Today with the Knicks.
Trades:
First move, moving Carmelo Anthony. I brought his Intangibles rating up to mid 80's, this brought his overall up to 88 - thus bringing his trade value up. I had to turn his NTC off because he will turn down the trade no matter what.
There are realistically only 3 teams that would trade for him - The Clippers, Celtics and Cavs, and those are the only 3 teams I received offers from in trade finder.
Celtics - offered Avery Bradley & Jaylen Brown
Clippers - offered DeAndre Jordan & Austin Rivers
Cavs - offered Kevin Love & Richard Jefferson
After debating between all the offers, I felt that the Cavs offer would be most beneficial to both teams with the Cavs offering me a better deal for what I planned. (More on that later)
I adjusted the deal to make it sweeter for both teams.
Knicks get: Kevin Love (87)
Iman Shumpert (72)
Cavs 2018 First Round
Cavs get: Carmelo Anthony (88)
Courtney Lee (78)
Mindaugas Kuzminskas (73)
Cavs get an upgrade at both the PF and SG positions to make another title run and I get Kevin Love as trade bait and an extra 1st rounder for next year. I like Willy Henangomez way too much to replace him with Love, I want to develop him and have him play side to side with Porzingis for a long time.
After the trade, I flipped Kevin Love (would have loved to do a 3 way but for some reason Cavs decline it no matter what) for Khris Middleton (he has the stats spread for my ideal SF).
The Bucks get an upgrade to Greg Monroe (made sure he went to FA for sake of fairness) and Malcolm Brogdon takes over at the 2. I move Khris Middleton as my starting 3.
More to come...Comment

Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**
Over the last month or so I've been running a "control all teams" MyLeague. I'm actually quite satisfied with how the different teams look just going in to game one of the third season. I've taken some control of narrative in regards to which teams got the top 1-10 draft picks, but otherwise I've been making sure that all deals were fair for both teams. I've edited a lot of players, but not done anything too drastic - mostly potentials and a few tweaks here and there. I do some player editing along the way too, just to shake things up. For example, I've notched Mudiay up to da 75 going in to this season (82 potential) to give the Nuggets a little help.
Quick summary of season 1:
MVP: Russ (averaged a triple double with 31 points)
ROTY: Ben Simmons (16, 8, 6)
DPOTY: Draymond Green (2 steals, 2 blocks)
Finals Result: Cleveland 4, Golden State 3
Finals MVP:Lebron James (averaged a triple double)
Quick Summary of season 2:
MVP: Lebron James (26, 8, 9)
ROTY: Markelle Fultz (averaged 21PPG)
DPOTY: Kawhi (8RPG, 3SPG, 2BPG, and oh yeah, 27PPG! Should've been MVP...)
Finals Result: Golden State 4, Cleveland 1 (4th straight face-off, tied 2-2)
Finals MVP: Durant
I just finished getting all the rosters ready for season 3 - here is each teams one-through-6 man rotation (if you don't want to look through them all, just take a look at Philly, Bucks, Bulls, Heat, Knicks, Lakers, Nuggets, Pelicans, Pistons, Suns and Wolves; this virtual version of the NBA is well equipped to take over the torch when Cavs and GSW is done battling it out!

PF: Mirotic
C: Horford
6th: Smart, Olynyk
Clippers (They made the WCF in 2018 due to having Rudy Gay on the books for only that season, who filled the gap at SF nicely but this team is done now. CP3 is reclining, Gay left after the one year and they still have zero depth! It's going to be a tough rebuild!):
PG: CP3
SG: JJ Redick
SF: Casspi
PF: Blake
C: Deandre
6th: Rivers
Grizzlies:
PG: Conley
SG: Hamidou Diallo (Made him an even better athlete, and a 86 potential, just to add a late bloomer to the draft class)

C: Hassan
6th:Collin Sexton/Dragic

PF: Favors
C: Gobert
6th: Wendell Carter Jr

PG: Jeff Teague
SG: Buddy
SF: Jonathan Isaac
PF: Labissiere
C: Papagiannis

C: Vucevic
6th: Biyombo, Hezonja
Mavs:
PG: Ntilikina
SG: Seth Curry
SF: Barnes
PF: Powell
C: Noel
6th:Yogi, Matthews
Nets (I basically decided that they ****ed up their future again and decided to build around Jordan Clarkson and Dion Waiter, just for giggles, managed to pick up Demarcus Cousins this season though, so they're kind of relevant... Barely though):
PG: Clarkson
SG: Waiters
SF: Justin Jackson
PF: Ilyasova
C: Cousins
6th:Jeremy Lin
Nuggets (very interesting how these studs develop):
PG: Mudiay/Murray
SG: Harris
SF: Michael Porter Jr
PF: Faried
C: Jokic
6th: Mudiay/Murray
Pacers (PG13 wanted to test free agency, I signed him back as I couldn't find any possible destinations for him that had my interest. Would've preferred him leaving as this team has nothing for him, there's definitely something in Myles Turner, but their just not at the same stage in their careers):
PG: Payne
SG: Stephenson
SF: PG13
PF: Thad Young
C: Turner
6th: Collison
Pelicans (Might be a serious contender this year already!):
PG: Jrue Holiday
SG: Avery Bradley
