I am not sure what team I want to use. 2k never really knows how to fit the Hornets play style in this game, so I am not sure if I want to use my favorite team, so I need to find a decent rebuild team.

Sorry to go off-topic but since so few people are on PC that I know play sim, would you be up for a head-to-head game sometimes? I lost Vni for my sim online gaming since he moved to consoles ( traitor :P )

I appreciate the offer, but I don't do online. Partially because I hate dealing with the servers (and lag) and partially because my internet connection (in the middle of nowhere) is just good enough to download the game and its updates without taking all day.

Plus, my roommates are AVID Xbox One gamers and they do Destiny, which means they're eating up the bandwidth. (Conspiracy theory: they only like me as a roommate because of how much offline gaming I do. )

I am about to start with the Bulls. I really like Jimmy, he's one of my favourite players, and i think with Wade and Rondo they could be a fun team to play with. Have you guys started your MyLeagues with generic draft classes or?

I'm going to start with a generic draft class, but will import the 2017 draft class once I find one that is suitable to my liking.

Love this thread. I haven't started a proper MyLeague yet that i'm fully invested in, because i've been doing test simming to make sure there's no bugs or AI that will ruin the suspension of disbelief. But once that's all sorted out, it's time to party!

There's a few things i wanna do, but i haven't decided which one i will do first.

-Create my own expansion team, jerseys n all, and try and bring that team to championship glory. The idea of picking from a pool of players that teams couldn't protect sounds like a really fun challenge. I was originally cynical towards the expansion feature (because i want the developmental time spent elsewhere), but it'll definitely be fun to at least try out. Looking forward to stealing Malcolm Brogdon from the Bucks and starting at SG! Stuff like that.

-Play as the post-Duncan era Spurs and try to keep them within the elite. (will prob do this one with MyGM)

-Create a bunch of players (or edit a bunch of ****ty/obscure free agents to be much better) throw them all into a big fantasy draft with say, four, additional teams. And watch what happens with the new sandbox! Play god for a little bit! (note: will only do this one if i really like the overall AI / logic of MyLEAGUE mode)

Expanded a San Diego and Pittsburgh team. (Used thr pre-made ones)... obviously used Pittsburgh, as I'm from there.

First season I made tons of trades. CPU offers me KEMBA for my first PROTECTED and a prospect. I tske it. Make more deals. End up with picks #4, #8, #31.

At the Draft, Boston offers me Bradley and Crowder for #4 and a first first unprotected. Didn't think twice. Took it and ran. They reached on some average prospect. #8 comes up and the Heat offer me WHITESIDE FOR THE PICK. I also traded #31.

I need a better PF, but my starting line-up is Kemba, Bradley, Crowder, ???? and Whiteside.

Went from bottom three, to deep team. I had Biyombo, but I had to move him so I knew id definitely have future money to keep everyone. I came so close to a 2 year 57 M deal for Griffin, but suddenly he got a 5/145 offer from LAC...

LeBron, KD, CP3, and more all opted out. Everyone went back except KD. He went to... Orlando... OKC didn't even offer him a deal. GS tried though.

Cleveland AND GS were upset in round 2. GS won 69 games, but lost BADLY 4-1 to Portland... Raptors upset Cleveland 4-3. Raptors won two games in OT and won the other two by a basket. Cleveland blew them out by 20+ in their wins. Total WTF series lol.

Raptors won the title over the Blazers. Lowry won MVP. He dominated and got a ridiculous deal from Toronto.

I go into next season with some future 1sts after trading away junk. I also have Spurs 1st in 19 but it's protected top-5

This should be fun.

Just did an expansion draft with Seattle Supersonics.
It was really fun to build a team this way.
I used my own custom roster, which i had edited to have more accurate potentials and ratings (to my perspective anyway).

Just like i hoped (see above post), Malcolm Brogdon was left unprotected so he was my first pick. In my roster he's rated 75 and i think his potential is set at 80 or so. I really like his combo of shooting, defense, and ability to move the ball in real life. I was actually surprised the Bucks left him unprotected, so i was glad to build around him.

I then noticed Norman Powell was left unprotected by the Raptors, so i chose him next, and now i had my starting wings sorted.

Next, drawn by the lure of the novelty, i took Boban Marjanovic. 75 overall. I had him in mind as my starting center, but i would later regret not leaving that opportunity open for others.

Point guard is an important position, and i remember setting Tyler Ulis' potential to 79 or 80, and i remember his ratings were pretty decent (only 72 overall but had nice specialty ratings), so i took him next.

Now there's a hole at our 4 spot. My gamestyle is very pick&pop orientated so i wanted to get someone who can knock down open jumpers at a high rate. So i sorted by "open mid range" and "open 3pt" and Meyers Leonard was at the top of them both, with 90+ in them both. Now i'm not really a huge fan of Leonard's game in real life, and i think i reduced his potential in my roster, but the floor spacing sounded too good to pass up, so i took him next.

For the next few picks i had the future in mind, picking my favourite prospects in a vacuum. I took Malik Bealsey, Ivica Zubac, and Deyonta Davis. All 3 players have their potential at 80 or so in my roster, and are all 19 years old, so there's no pressure to give them starter minutes straight away.

With my frontcourt in a good position, i realized i didn't have a "true" SF, and i also wanted a defensive specialist on the roster somewhere, and the perfect person presented himself: Jerami Grant. He'll be my backup SF and can be my LeBron/Durant/Kawhi/George stopper.

Next i wanted to get a promising PG to share minutes with Ulis, but i noticed the PG crop didn't really have any promising young guys, so i noticed Shaun Livingston sitting there and i started to think about the possibilities of starting him at PG in terms of gameplay. Ulis was gonna be a defensive liability as starter, but now i have strategic advantage having a 6'7" PG. Also, i've always loved Livingston and have wished he could be a starter in the NBA somewhere someday.

So now i have a 10 man rotation. Where to from here?

Well, the previous pick Livingston got me thinking in a new way -- it got me thinking about how the players will fit together in gameplay. I started thinking about how open the paint might be with Leonard getting delivered pick&pops all day, so i figured i need someone who is a strong inside finisher. Boban's inside finishing is okay but his standing layup is only 80. I want someone who is a legit threat with finishing. Then i remember Christiano Felicio was still on the board. I had upped his strength and inside touch to match his real life counterpart a bit better, so he would be the perfect candidate. Despite already having a handful of promising young bigs, i decided to draft him as a piece with gameplay in mind.

At this point i'm starting to wonder who else can help me in gameplay, and decided to draft Dedmon, whose defensive ratings i had upped in my roster. Now feeling less use for Boban, he becomes the first Sonic to be placed on the trade block.

With one pick left, and my team being very big man heavy, i drafted KJ McDaniels to help out on the wing.

So now here's what my team looks like:

PG: Shaun Livingston & Tyler Ulis
SG: Malcolm Brogdon & Norman Powell (will probably play one of them at starting SF tho)
SF: Jerami Grant & KJ McDaniels
PF: Meyers Leonard & Deyonta Davis
C: Boban Majonovic, Dewayne Dedmon, Christiano Felicio, Ivica Zubac.

So yeah, a little heavy on the centers, especially considering Deyonta's skillset is probably more that of a center.

Starting lineup will probably be: 1-Livingston, 2-Brogdon, 3-Powell, 4-Leonard, 5-Felicio.

Probably going to run a pick&roll offense.
Any ideas for offensive or defensive schemes? What kind of plays would you run with this lineup?

Now to play my first 12min qtr game in 2k17...

I'm getting a series going. Doing expansion I will be controlling the Spirits of St Louis.......I also added the Supersonics(CPU). Even though I can't edit hus age I'm adding Ray Allen to that team and let him live out his career there.

You go to prospect scouting and select a prospects as if you are going to edit them, then it'll let you import a whole new class if you want

Just started my franchise with the thunder. Currently 1-1 made a trade to get Demarre Carroll to beef up my SF position. But my bench is just awful after Roberson. Gonna be making some upgrades this weekend.

Second thing, do any of you by any chance know how to work the advanced rotations with 8 minute quarters? It seems like it plays Westbrook the entire game when I adjust it to where he gets breaks at non-key moments? And it brings in my backup to want to play the whole second half. That system is making me do manual rotations and I'm not a fan of that because it takes too long. If any of you have an idea on how to work the advanced rotations for that time frame please let me know thanks!

NICEEEE. Was considering an alternate history league myself but the idea just seems overwhelming -- so much to consider in an alternate history league. I hope you post it on the dynasty board, I'll be eager to see how you approach it.

Can anyone confirm this? I'm dying to jump in, but want to be able to share my creations with as many players as possible.

Whoa, really? That's a sweet feature if it's true. Wouldn't have swayed me from going Steam (it's just a far superior system than Windows) but it's still a nice bit.

Look forward to seeing your designs on PC -- it's kinda a barren wasteland out here to far.
