    Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

End of the quarter and I have a clear lane with derozan but the game decides to make a big catch him and trigger a stumble even though I clearly have the defense beat. This is happening way too much to me and never the CPU
Sorry for the quality of video.

Also as much as I love the expansion options I just can't handle the fact there is zero presentation. I mean zero. No pregame, no halftime , no interviews , no sideline reporter stuff.
It's a good idea but if you do a mygm that way there is no personality whatsoever. I scrapped my expansion mygm and settled on doing a raptors one but it's definetly not what I'd like to do. It's just so confusing because last year I could relocate and still have all the presentation elements.

That's what 2k is so great with usually, giving players the ability to choose and customize, so I'm confused with this. Utilizing any direction on the stick to shoot was not broken, it allowed more freedom, that option should not have been removed.

While it's definitely still screwing me up on certain shots I take with muscle memory, I've found that it actually more closely mirrors the skill it takes to shoot a post-up fade to the left or right. You swing your body to one side and then re-center and focus on the hoop. One thing people aren't noticing is that the angle only matters on the release of your shot. I could start my shot angled down-left and swing upwards to the center for a bank shot, or slightly to the right to make sure my angle is straight.

It's another thing to think about, and I agree it'd be nice if they gave players the option. Personally, while I appreciate what this new system asks of players in theory I think it should work on 4 90º axis instead of 2 180º axis. If I hold the stick to the left or right perfectly straight I should get the same bonus as perfectly up or down. They just trained our brains for too long form 2K11 forward to press the stick in multiple directions for multiple types of shots.

Yea.....maybe start with patching the defense...or you know acknowledge its not working properly?

Doesnt matter what you patch the shot stick to if the AI defenders are awful.

Chill broski, I'm sure the defense will get Mike and the teams attention. The fact that hes reading these threads should be appreciated, I'm sure hes read and seen video of some of the defensive issues. Just because defense is an issue doesnt mean that should be the only thing the team focuses on.

-- The timeout UI and the fact that 2K got rid of the points of emphasis adjustments on the pregame screen enrages me. Those two sentiments cannot be echoed enough. While not a gamebreaker, it inconveniences the user to mess with the points of emphasis on the fly, which is a pain in the rear. Enough has been said about the timeout UI and timeout subs being atrocious, but it's worth mentioning anyway.

                -- Armpit hair 2K17.

-- Most of the players in the game should have opted to go pro in the NFL and play as wide receivers or defensive backs, because there are so many one handed interceptions in this game.

-- I can't stand how, when you are on a fast break, many of your players will not continue to run to the basket. They'll randomly stop as if they suddenly forgot what they were doing.

Still enjoying the game. Still having fun. However, there's a lot of work for 2K to put in for 2K18. Honestly, I wish they would have worked on this game a little while longer and held off on releasing it until late October. I don't mind long waits for video games if developers take the time to refine it to release a polished product.

Anybody notice how when you try to turbo all the way down the court, especially after made baskets you'll get a charge foul.

I know!! It's my favorite part of basketball. And last was really look. But this is another world. Especially when you have a mouse in the house. Which happens a lot when in transition with bigs pinning their man under the rim. I love it!!

                          You mean like this....

Another great addition!!.... It's something that was needed badly last year. But balances out the cheesy user just holding on to turbo and then the Russell Westbrooks of the legaue stand out even more because it's their thing.

Check out this example below. Brandon Ingram was clearly not moving in the direction of the screen... Yet he gets sucked into it and gives op an open 3. What am i suppose to do as a user to stop something like this? This happens all the time among other issues that are really starting to add up.

The new camera this year has the ability to toggle zoom off in the paint but one of the main cameras broadcast generic the zoom in the paint is forced. Why is this greyed out for broadcast generic with no option to turn off zoom in the paint.

There use to be an option to toggle on or off in the earlier 2k games. Can this be patched in to turn off zoom in the paint on broadcast generic.
