Well today I decided to play on pro level and not my usual custom settings. And I have to say that 2k16 is the better challenge. The game played so much more BETTER in 2k16. It was tighter.....2k17 feels way to loose. 2k17 is a much more easier game to play. Why did 2k17 make the game so much more easier. In 2k16 you had to really fight to get a open shot. In 2k17 everyone is open for a easy shot. I was the freakin pelicans and I was beating the HELL out of the Caves. Its just ridiculous

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Yeah, I'll post them here in a spoiler. I'm not all the way through tweaking yet, but I played the Warriors with the Sixers and stayed with them for a while, but was down 12 at the half, then played with the same teams but I was the Warriors and was up on the Sixers quickly without much trouble. The fast break points are still a little high for the CPU based upon a high number of steals, but that may be me still adjusting to the gameplay changes for this year's game.
The sliders are pretty simple, I find that the less you can change with 2k the better. too much fine tuning always manifests itself in other ways. Which is why I didn't take a 3 pronged attack at fixing the And 1's. Just changed defense.

Thanks. I expected the offense awareness to be higher than the user being that it's on Pro but I'll just have to see. I know you said tweaks are still being made. Play types dictate the differences in experience as well. I'm really trying to make this game work for me.Comment

And my sample size is really small too, only a few games. I’ll play some more and see.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Yeah, honestly, that’s one where I may bump it up. There was one time where they had the ball in the paint and were kind of open but tossed it back out. But it’s been so infrequent that I haven’t messed with it yet. They still run plays and always hit the open man. And Embiid, holy crap, when I was running small, they just went to him again and again and just killed me on the inside. I feel like they saw the match up and exploited it.

It's great to read that about Embiid!! I enjoy when the CPU does legit exploits like that & not dam near superhuman abilities to score or defend. Do you change your defensive gameplan in the pause menu? I usually do so I'm hoping that won't give me some sort of advantage.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Bunsel or Cujo, you mind sending me a PM on what tweaks you made to the sliders on pro? Or if you have them uploaded. Halfway thru the second half on Superstar is like a totally different game. I keep taking a stab it by changing my defensive settings, calling timeouts, & overall focusing in on the game but the CPU keeps eliminating any & all of my strategies.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Yeah, I think I have to up the CPU awareness. Otherwise, aside from the speed (seems to drag a bit) it's kinda solid. A little tougher than I expected. I came out the gate with loose play.Comment

No doubt. Same here as far as Superstar on 2K16. That's why I've been trying to make it work on Superstar this go-round but I've been frustrated at times.Comment

I wasn't getting enough turnovers but I didn't want to crutch the stats like 2k did by making defenders psychic at intercepting passes. So instead of increasing hands and play passing lanes, I decreased ball security and pass accuracy. I'd rather turnovers occur more realistically by a bad pass or trying to dribble too much thru everyone .
I found I could go around everyone way too easily so I upped body sensitivity and lateral quickness. There's probably a little too much bumping this way but I can still beat the CPU off the dribble enough without completely having my way with them. Any suggestions here would be good though.
For tendencies my biggest complaint is the CPU was being waaaaaay to passive and also I wanted to try and nerf the CPU spamming the key for easy buckets. Take inside shots at 20, look for post players at 30 has definetly helped and attack the basket at 80 has helped the CPU aggressiveness significantly and they still take the appropriate amount of mid range and threes. I also like putbacks at 80 because I'll see 4 or 5 a game at that rate. There's still a massive lack of CPU alley oop attempts so I might raise it even higher.
Lastly I dropped offensive consistency to 30 and might even try lower because I'm pretty sure it effects the CPU ability to go on the long super human runs where they get hot and shoot 90% in a quarter.
Anyways that's what I've been working on and so far so good.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Our sliders are quite similar. The only things I'm different on(and I'm not implying mine are better just some things I noticed and give an insight on my thought process. Which I'd love some banter on because my thought process could very well be wrong lol)

Yeah, I think ball security will have to go down a touch, maybe 45. And that’s why I set pass accuracy under 50, but maybe I’ll have to set it lower, maybe 47.
And the cpu does seem a little passive, but I think it depends highly on who you’re playing. Because I was playing the Celtics with the blazers and isaiah Thomas was just killing me off the dribble because I had Lillard and despite his quickness, he isn’t the best defender. Also, and it just dawns on me now, it could be because I play on ball defense all the time. And with speed so low, that could compensate for the lack of drives.
As much as I hate to admit it, there are times in real life where a team gets hot and starts crushing it. I really like the fact that the Sixers closed the gap with a big run and that the Celtics led off the game with a big run. Those runs really go into the realism for me.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Hey, nobody posting here for a while! Everybody must have jerry-rigged a fix for the game!
Joking aside, I just played what felt like one of the most organic and wonderful sim basketball experiences I've ever had. Here are the results:
Spoiler
It was great. Wiggins was just killing me with the mid range, and was attacking pretty well as well. He was a little shot happy though, which accounts for the missed threes. Overall he had a good game though. Had a nice putback jam too I think.
At one point, Lavine tossed the ball to Rubio and ran over a screen and he promptly flipped it back up to Lavine for a mad alley oop.
Lavine killed me when he was open, from beyond the arc and inside as well. Luckily Oladipo plays for OKC now and was able to at least curtail a giant game.
Dunn drove at me on many occasions, at one point ending it with a slam.
Towns was pretty underused, but I felt like that was because Wiggins and Lavine were feeling it. It felt like they were playing to their biggest strength, which was Wiggins on Roberson. Towns was being guarded by Adams and he was keeping the ball out.
Westbrook was hitting pull up jumpers, he ended with a very Westbrook line of 28/8/8. Got loose a few times and jammed it.
It was back and forth the whole game. They would go on runs and so would I. Right toward the end, Westbrook was flying down the court in transition, I was going for the dagger slam, but the D collapsed on him as he was heading toward the hoop, the only other dude ready to shoot was Roberson, and Westbrook fired him the ball, he was perfectly set up in the corner, and I decided to take it, and he nailed it to finish the game off. Amazing play.
The foul shots were skewed because of 4th quarter fouling/general aggressiveness. Also the Offensive boards were a little high for them, but it wasn't anything I was upset about in the game, they were legit situations. The stats were just so dang on point, I can't get over it. Steals, turnovers, rebounds, shot percentage, everything was well within the right range.
For those interested, I moved ball security and pass accuracy to 47 for CPU and player. Made a world of difference, thanks cujo."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Sweet man I'm going to try out your sliders hopefully later tonight if I can pull myself away from the PlayStation VR.
Im glad that people like you are helping work the problem instead of just giving up. I've given this game way more chances than most but I see the potential. I'll post my results later.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Just been messing with player tendencies to get drivers driving.
It's a weird sensation to enjoy Westbrook dunking on you and drawing fouls.Comment
