No simulation sliders this year. Out the box is default.

    1. There used to be an Arcade, Default, and Simulation setting for every difficulty level. Those are gone.

    2. The shooting sliders for Arcade, Default and Simulation were always different. So if you are used to playing on SS or HOF Simulation you will have to go custom to get the sliders off of the "50" default setting.

    3. So anyone who said shooting has been easier this year has been correct slider wise.

You could definitely be onto something here. I think there's a slider set that's based on the sim settings from 2K16 in the PS4 uploads. Going to give those a download and see what's up

Yea...my league mates and I noticed shooting was a joke out of the box on hof. I went back to 2k16 and copy and pasted the hof sim Slider set and applied them to our 2k17 league. Much better gameplay after that.

Yet again the game is not the same as last year with all new dynamics so i really found this absurd in any sense 2k16 simulation wouldnt make it rite..:/

Here you go Rob. Straight from 2k16 hof slider set.

We re-factored the way sliders work this year and it didn't make sense to keep the game style and difficulty settings different. The thinking was, if you're playing Rookie, you're probably a casual gamer and if you're jumping up to HoF, you're probably looking for more of a sim experience. At least, that's how I wanted to design the difficulties.

If you guys can agree to a good slider set for Superstar and HoF, I'd be happy to adjust the defaults. I can change them in an update next week.

Just let me know exactly what you want in this thread.

Personally I like seeing the boost that the CPU gets on higher difficulties and the boost you get on lower settings. To me thats better than it being under the hood where we cant see them, which leads to people saying the CPU get a unfair advantage.

Even with the sim settings in the past, people tweaked them, or atleats I did, and Im sure the majority of people did as well if not everyone that played offline modes.

At 1st I didnt like it, but the more I thought about it the more I like how you guys did it this yr. Id rather know where the boost are coming from. I think people need to give it more time before you go changing it. Change can be difficult for some, I myself dont like change much, but change often leads to being better once you give it time

Yea i'm all on board of your approach and design Mike, it was smt that should have been before, i couldn't agree more of it. Then i think that there should be some more balance to make shooting harder on higher difficulty levels rather than adjusting sliders as you mentioned.
I really do hate adjusting sliders. I don't mind the names like default or sim as long as the game is competitive and not one sided or advantegous to a some sort of gameplay layer such as shooting all day kind of thing. I may sound a bit mixed up but hopefully you get what i mean to say. Overall 'balance' and 'basketball competitive along with sticks'.

I would be happy with a slight drop to the CPUs shooting, and on ball D on Superstar..

Even for a dribble enthusiast like me, the A.I is sticky

I honestly feel everything else is pretty even.

Would this effect the Superstar setting online Mike?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that attribute boosts for the CPU were supposed to be gone on HOF this year, and that ACE adjustments were how the greater challenge was to be provided. When I look at the slider settings and I see the CPU boosted up a lot over the User, it appears to be me to be the same as it ever was.

I think there was a lot more going on in the background as far as the boosts that the HOF AI recieved.

I feel the idea now is that everything is transparant, and can be adjusted if need be.

Remember the ultimate goal is to elimate these settings and let ACE be the driver, but we're not there yet.
