Is HoF as is playable? I'm playing MyGM right now on HoF and it's difficult in an unfair way and I consider myself an above average offline player. So should I grind it out and eventually get better or is HoF out the box too unrealistic

Too unrealistic shooting % wise but Mike said the sliders should be updated tonight/tomorrow. So should be fine soonComment

Re: No simulation sliders this year. Out the box is default.
Hey Beluba,
Here are some Nba 2k17 Problems that you guys can hopefully fix soon....
1. The computer/Ai doesn't walk the ball up the court often enough. I see them walk it up 15 to 20% of the time in a 12minute quarter game. But they should be walking it up at least 45% or 50% of the time. If this is a simulation... lets aim for sim.*
This would help decrease the Field goal attempts per-game.
I have played about 10 games so far and the computer Attempts over 90 shots per-game way too often. They should attempt in the 80s or 70s sometimes. But they don't because
2. They attempt way too many shots early in the shot clock. For ex. Every team even the ones who are set to Run plays at 99. The computer seems to want to launch everything up as fast as possible. Even when i play a slow tempo game. You should maybe have the computer walk up the ball, every time after the user scores a basket.
3. The computer subs/coach let the players foul out too often. Its a little less than in Nba 2k16... but could still be improved.
4.There needs to be a way to implement more turnovers that are not steals.*
For example:
1.More out of bounds passes without taking away control from the user. I set the pass accuracy to 0 for User and Cpu and the passes are still too accurate. The up and down court passes should be a little less accurate when the slider is set to 0. Though in bound passes should not be affected by this slider because that would be annoying. Maybe for 2k18 implement a passing meter or something.
2.More balls deflecting off your own foot, when dribbling too much.
3. More traveling calls... without taking away control from the user.
4.Maybe players tripping and falling out of bounds... without overdoing it. Maybe happen once per game.
The computer attempting so many field goals early in the clock is the biggest problem NBA 2k has every year. If the 2k development team would make it so that the computer attempted about 70 to 80 pergame even when playing a fast tempo game(In 12minute quarters)... it would fix a TON of problems. There would be less rebounds... the Average Nba Total team Defensive Rebounds per game is in the 30's.... but in Nba 2k17 and every 2k ever.... Teams average 40 to 50 rebounds which is not sim at all.... and its all because of the computer's hyper mindset of wanting to shoot and run/jog the ball up the court and shoot up a quick shot early in the shot clock.
Also... the computer rarely ever resets after getting an offensive rebound. That is another big problem that can be fixed. If the computer would reset and pass the ball out to the point guard at least 50% of the time after an Offensive rebound, and not jack up a shot as soon as they get the offensive rebound, this would help cut the down the Fieldgoal attempts per game.Last edited by Razeart2422; 09-19-2016, 08:30 PM.Comment

Re: No simulation sliders this year. Out the box is default.
Relative Shot Aiming didn't work. That's actually how I originally designed it and we prototyped it for a while. The problem basically came down to it being too difficult to identify where ideal aiming would be when you're not directly north, east, west or south of the hoop. So shots from the wing became extremely frustrating as it pretty much was guess work as to where you should be pointing the stick. Everyone ended up always just running to the top of the arc or to the corners since that was easiest to figure out. We tried dynamically changing the windows to compensate but it just didn't work. We even tried drawing little targets around the shot meter but it caused people to just stare at the meter even more, which was the opposite of what we wanted to have happen. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any cool ideas to bring more skill into shooting for 2K18 w/o it being overly complex.Comment

I totally agree. The main problem in strict sense is not the pace itself...is time of possession...a user who plays realistically and tends to walk the ball up court has an average of 3-4-5 or even more minutes of difference in time of possessionComment

So HOF CPU is going to be nerfed even more?
Wow. Ok. I guess I'll get 65+ wins this season if that the case...Comment

It should just be there when you boot your game up. If you're actively playing when it hits, you'll see the New Content Available dialog and will have to go to the main menu to get it. Just like a roster update.

Re: No simulation sliders this year. Out the box is default.
Looking forward to trying the new sliders on Superstar.
I like the idea of Superstar/HOF ACE but my concern about the AI being too "frantic" remains. And I've been experimenting against the lowly Nuggets. Can't imagine what a GSW or CLE will do to me haha......
It pains me to say All Star seems to be the pace I prefer, but will try Superstar with the update and see how it goes.Comment

Side note for all: if I am a above average offline player seeking a sim experience, do I want Superstar or HoF?Comment

Re: No simulation sliders this year. Out the box is default.
Most years I usually play on Superstar but I like to use Hall-of-Fame this year. Especially after the latest slider tuning, because you get the same sliders as Superstar, with the added bonus of going up against the cpu's full repertoire of ACE adjustments.Comment

Re: No simulation sliders this year. Out the box is default.
Totally agree with this. We need about 5 times as many fouls right now. Im not getting enough of any type of foul. I also have all foul sliders at 100 and still am barely seeing any, so just changing default to 100 won't fix anything, in my opinion.Comment
