Re: NBA 2k17 MyLeague After 5 Years: Data Showing Problems

Hey guys, another thing to look out for...head coaches.

Have yall noticed anything weird? I haven't paid any attention until I noticed Steve Kerr was coaching the Bucks in a game I was playing. The Warriors had been the #1 or 2 seed every year of my franchise, so I'm guessing the Bucks simply signed him away during the offseason when his contract would have expired.

Granted, coaching contracts never really 'expire' in pro sports (they are extended or the coach is fired) but head coaches don't get signed away to coach somewhere else like that...especially if they're currently coaching this god-tier Warriors team. It's something to be mindful of when playing through MyLeague or signing a new coach yourself.

Taking control of the AI teams during the coaching signing period does solve this, otherwise HCs like Pop and Kerr end up on the 76ers/Hornets -- the coaches usually go to the highest bidder, regardless of the team's current state or record I've found.
        Any comments are welcome.

Regarding the lack of A+ potential players, one of the next roster updates will include updated templates with higher max potentials for non-once-in-a-generation players so you should see more players eligible to develop into 90+ numbers without manual edits.
          Hey Leftos, one more thing:

Would it be possible to let us know in this thread if and when any of these updates drop?

That way I can let people know when they can stop using workarounds in my slider thread and so on.

I was about to start MyLeague with you training sliders and then read this. But anyways, it's still will be a smoove move to see your tests after patch drops haha

Could be may weeks before Leftos gets all that stuff in.

Roster updates are easier to deploy but getting a tuner into a patch could datke longer, even if the tuner is approved to be included in the patch from 2k higher ups.

Hey Leftos, draft prospects defensive ratings are generating in 'reverse' for me. For example, I'm seeing guards with higher post defense ratings than perimeter (even though they have good lateral quickness) and vice versa for big men. It's not by a little either, it's by usually by 10-20 points. Hope you can fix that because I don't believe these training sliders can

I'm usually not a big driver for new features, but hopefully we can get coaching extensions (or even a bit more of a revamp like a coaching carousel) in the near future. The current system both has little resemblance to modern professional sports and creates this problem where established coaches leave.

Similarly (though not quite as bad), a lot of generated guys have higher moving shot ratings (and contested shot ratings, though I'm not sure how large of a party foul that is) than open shot ratings, this can also be by 10-20.

Peak ages are also much too high (start is usually in late 20s, end in mid 30s), but I don't want to pile on too much since these are 'fixable' with custom draft classes.

Hello Leftos, I really like how you guys have the Jr's from previous classes. I even seen player I created have a Jr. I was like WTF! It was pretty cool. I seen Rudy Gay Jr, Melo Jr, Elfrid Payton Jr, etc.

This is a great post. In MyGm franchise, in the second season, the cpu has failed miserably at roster management. So many teams are stacked at one position. Some with 4 SFs, all rated in the 70s. Some start rookies over better players. Its crazy but it is what it is.

I've just started a myleague, and have had concerns/confusion over how much impact the change to personal training has on a players development. I've got a rookie whose passing game I'm trying to develop, so I bumped up all the focus on the passing traits and then after simming for about a month noticed that he went from 68% progress to next point, to zero (without that point ever going up). This is in the categories I specifically wanted to train, so I don't understand how it has gone backwards?

Anyway, I thought I'd look to see if others were having this problem and found this thread. Did a patch ever happen? Is all the information in this thread still relevant or has it been fixed by a patch?

You want the solution to wonky rotations/rosters?

Turn off salary caps and injuries. Players can be assigned to teams as needed and rotations don't get busted every time someone gets hurt.

In essense, don't let the CPU do ****.

My league is not a simulation.

With old my league online it was possible.
