Re: Next NBA 2K17 Patch to fix roster update issue, Pro-AM & More
I got nothing against Dirk at all, but, why hasn't he shared his rosters or sliders with the community? Most of the video evidence he's provided hasn't really been evidence of much.
If he really is having such a great experience, and somehow not experiencing the rest of the problems we are, why not share his findings with the community?
A quick screen shot of his sliders, a quick upload of his rosters so people here at OS cab enjoy the wealth. Why none of that?
This is why people aren't taking him seriously. Every time someone asks him to share what he has, the question is avoided or dodged.
Like I said, I don't have a problem with him, and I'm glad he's enjoying the game, but come on.

For those who've paid careful attention to what I've wrote (not that anyone should), Im rarely disagreeing with you. I've seen the bugs you have. Just not as often. What I have done is discuss the plentiful improvements about this game which are always overlooked at this time.
Im sharing what Ive seen, and I don't have this entirely negative view of the game. That seems to have attracted people's ire, which puzzles me. I think if you don't have that confirmation bias, you will not looking for every little negative. Ill be watching the Mavs game in 45 minutes and I promise you I will see some dumb things.
This notion that people who have positive 2K experiences are fanboys is rubbish. The notion that people who have positive 2K experiences arent sim heads is rubbish. I watch 2-3 full games on my ILP every night. Don't believe me? Cool, why would I care about convincing you? I was the first to video catalogue how the physicality hurts the running of some plays. I told OG how the CPU doubles off good shooters one pass away too often.
What I have objected to is hyperbolic statements like "This game is broken", or "The devs are lazy" or "This is NA Jam".
In regards to sliders, Ive posted numerous times. I don't believe there is a magic roster set or slider file. It's entirely dependent on the individual. I stopped using others' years ago. Here's a few general tips. And keep in mind Im not scientific about this and not everything works for everyone. And as I keep saying, I play exclusively ML.
Ive lowered CPU on ball D and the body up sensitivity sliders right down. This opens the game up. Ive boosted the CPU attack the basket slider. Ive increased their dunk tendency and contest shot tendency. Ive bumped up the CPU def and off awareness and consistency. I started editing my slider set from HOF so I get the full benefits of ACE. Benefits which I've posted numerous times, but people seem to ignore or dismiss. The rest are fairly standard.
In terms of my roster it's been edited in game mode so I can't export it. I focused on a few things. I lowered the close shot tendency of heaps of players so you don't see those stupid 7 foot jumpers. I lowered the pull up tendency for slow teams so I see big differences in pace. Ive posted screenies as evidence. I boosted the oop pass tendency of most PG's to create that weapon. I edited lots of players play types to get them playing the way I want. I made lots of individual edits. There was no golden rule, a few players were given tendencies to do too many things. e.g. nonshooting bigs with eurosteps and pull up tendencies etc.
Ive got the game playing the way I want. Is it perfect? Hell no. Is it a fun sim experience? Hell yes. For me, it is. For you, maybe/maybe not. I put heaps of vids on my channel to show how smooth the gameplay can be. There's heaps more I can put on, but don't have the time.
And to the posters being very snarky towards anyone who is enjoying the game. Who would you rather be? The simheads enjoying their NBA game, or the ones being frustrated by it?
Now, it's time to go and see how many ways my IRL Mavs can find to leave Lillard and McCollum wide open.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Patch 1.05 Coming Soon, Fixes Roster Update Issue, Pro-Am & More
This is the big issue with 2K....their money driven modes seem to be updated and fixed rapidly. VC items and deals get thrown at me whenever I boot up.
Yet gameplay stuff takes forever. I find it stunning we still have no updated rosters...still have broken ACE...and still have amateur level double team AI for the cpu. Historically, they have always been good at fixing this stuff long before the season starts.Comment

Re: Next NBA 2K17 Patch to fix roster update issue, Pro-AM & More
We want to enjoy it which is why we are voicing our concerns on what needs to be fixed so it will become an enjoyable experience instead of me pretending my CPU doesn't play like jr. high level bball players on defensive rotations, doubling off Curry, and terrible transition defense with no logic. Until then, there is no such thing as "sim" style until those things get fixed which is mine as well as 95% of everyone elses point in this thread.Comment

It's become nauseous in here and the horses we are beating are still kicking. I don't expect people to just go mum but ya time for me to just ignore some of these topics and let events in time take their natural course.

Re: Next NBA 2K17 Patch to fix roster update issue, Pro-AM & More
Sim games on what slider set? If you have any type of skill playing 2k it is not a sim experience where they double team randomly, double off of greatest shooters in the league, no transition D logic, etc. If you are having competitive games against the CPU this year then you are a low level 2k player or you refuse to take advantage of the poor defensive IQ by CPuLast edited by jxelite2430; 11-04-2016, 09:51 PM.Comment

I posted specific stuff about MyLeague training adjustments in the slider sub-forum. If you could do something similar in that setting, I would eagerly try out what you've got.

Im critiquing the game; I must be the worst employee in the world.
Ill remind you again; I'd rather be the person enjoying their sim experience than the one who's embittered enough to attack other posters.
Perhaps you should put me on ignore.Comment

I've seen some verbal descriptions of adjustments you've made (even with bookmarks on my browser), but if you could post specific numbers, maybe on the slider forum, that would be welcome.

Ive got one of body up sensitivity sliders at 0 (cant remember if its HUM or CPU. It's the one which reduces the CPU onball stickiness). CPU on ball D is at about 20. Ive compensated by making their layup defense and close shot D at 70. Ive got CPU shot contest at 85, their attack the basket at 70, dunk tendency at 70.
Most of my time went into the roster, which I can't export. I posted my main things a few posts back. A focus was on reducing the amount of things players could do eg. bigs who could eurostep, dribble behind the back etc. Makes it less twitchy.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Patch 1.05 Coming Soon, Fixes Roster Update Issue, Pro-Am & More
I have no inside knowledge or any way of knowing, but I'm guessing that since it appears the Steam patch was rejected, the console patches were also rejected and have/had to be re-submitted. Otherwise I truly believe it would've dropped this week.
Again, pure speculation. But in my mind, it helps explain the delay. I don't buy the delay being because of PS4 Pro and wanting to release next Thursday. Plenty of games have already released a "Pro" patch before it's even come out.
if the patch truly breaks the game on 3 different systems, well i guess 5 if you count PS3 and 360(did it even come out on those?) then 2K has lost their touch and become a amateur dev incapable of fixing their mistakes.
I guess the worst part is they're too much of a coward to tell us what happened and still instead cling to "imminent" even though it's been a weekComment

There's nothing worth posting.
