      Things like..

      - ACE working properly
      - Better defensive rotations

      - Improved defense in the paint (CPU spamming passes in the paint because interior defenders leaving people wide open)
      - Improved control responsiveness (similar to launch- pre-patch)
      - Removal of bumping anomations on perimeter (particularly all the CPU defender stickiness/bumper car animations)
      -Improved transition play (defense/offense)

I am thrilled they emphasized better off-ball movement. Hopefully plays and freelance run smoother and quicker now. The off-ball movement is currently a mess as players get stuck in animations and everything gets bogged down.

Also, great to see they improved double team logic. Hopefully we do not have any more instance of defenders running off their man to double team a ball handler on the perimeter. That was nearly a gamebreaker FOR ME.
These are all roster updates and are things / should be things that will be fixed. Not that I'm saying they will be fixed, but if they are it will be through that.

Improved responsiveness is not something that will happen in a patch. That will be in between games. But as long as we are playing with this engine I don't think it will ever get to the level any of us want it to be at. Once they detach from animations and go strictly to a physics based system we might actually see some substantial improvements.

i just had a game, and can confirm that interior defense is still non-existent and bigs have no idea how to stay between their man and the basket. bigs also just dick around in transition and leave their man wide open under the basket.

didn't see any better defensive rotations. if anything, they were worse and i'm not just saying that out of saltiness.

responsiveness is different, i wouldn't say better. players feel much less weighted but still clunky as usual. i found it harder to walk instead of run... it's like the analog stick sensitivity is through the roof.

perimeter bump animations still feel the same to me, but i can't be sure.

you can give up your hopes on better transition play.

double team logic - you just don't get doubled by bigs anymore leaving your bigs open under the basket. i'm sure you'll get doubled by someone guarding ray allen or steph curry at the arc though, so "logic" is not a good word for 2k to use. can't say much about double teaming frequency though, not yet.

oh, and moving screens are still there without a doubt. what i mean by moving screens is your player getting stuck on opposing players and getting dragged back from their man towards the basket.

some patch. it makes you think it was put together by the guy at the front desk - very unprofessional. no improvements, just slight differences that don't mean much in the grand scheme of things (what we've been bitching about since release). been buying at launch since 2k12, but that's not happening anymore. it's clear that their focus is on 2k18, and this patch did not get much time or resources dedicated to it. man, what a big disappointment - you would think that 2k would make things right after the incredibly flawed release this year.

oh, and fast breaks are still a mess. your teammates will run to the 3 point line on a 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 - they will even cut in front of you in YOUR lane it's ridic. cpu speed boosts still there as well.

now i realize i only had one game, but the main gameplay issues that have been talked about by the masses here are still obviously there. it's just so apparent.

passing does feel better though. oh boy, right!

Couldn't get called for an illegal screen after trying for a couple of games in MyCareer, so I don't think they're working.

Im liking it so far...played 2 MyTeam and 1 MyCareer games, gameplay wise:

            - Passing feels good, didnt have a single strange (zip, laser like) pass so far
            - A little more responsive again overall, I like it the way it is atm...
            - I got some loose balls back that I think I should have gotten back, felt good
            - Stepback shots seemed to have been toned down, my teammates and the cpu took some shots straight away, looked good
            - Double teams still aggressive, but no super stupid I come over the middle line double team so far

Overall, it feels good so far...

              Re: THE UPDATE IS AVAILABLE

Points of Emphasis have returned to the Gameplan feature! Note that these only affect simulation results.

              Why not for GAMEPLAY???

Seriously nobody wants it for the simulation results we want it in the GAME!!

Also Transition offense is still broken, Last years was perfect you had players cutting to the basket on breaks, now you have everyone and I mean everyone run out to the 3 point line its broken completely this is a big game breaker for me as transition offense is one of the biggest things in basketball its fundamentals that should be reflected in the game.

You should'nt have a 3 on 1 and both of your players are running to the 3 point line including centers, Again its Broken, You cant even set the POE to "Attack the basket" anymore because they took it out and now have put it back in only for SIMULATION!!! Utter useless man

              Lost for words

-The Advanced Rotations feature will now scale all rotations to work regardless of your chosen quarter length.

                THIS.

I play 8 minutes per quarter and this feature was unusable for me before.

Here we go, fellas. Patch 1.05 Gameplay impressions..

Played a couple games so far this morning, and I can say that I am pleased overall with this patch. Gonna give a breakdown of my first impressions, and why I think the game has been improved with this patch.

(Note: These are not impressions for PNO, My Park, Pro Am or My Career. Strictly offline against the CPU on Superstar difficulty)

With that being said, whatever they've done to the players, dig the way they feel now. Controlling your man has a different "smoothness" to it that wasn't there before. Someone made a thread that the "free feel" of the players have disappeared, and I agreed, but I'm getting that out of the box player feel when I string moves together now.

Speaking of stringing moves together, the AI defense is a hell of a lot less relentless when guarding you in man to man D. Playing as the Thunder against the Wolves, I was able to drive to the hole with Westbrook more often than not, and I was either scoring, or drawing smart fouls. It felt very Westbrook.

One thing I do not like is what they did with the pass speeds. Running a PNR runs a high risk of your pass being intercepted due to it being entirely too slow and floaty again. I got some beautiful cuts from Steven Adams on the PNR, but instead of zipping the ball in there, Westbrooks floaty, off the mark passes were picked off more often than not. I know this is probably to cut down on the infinite amount of passes into the paint, but my big man should be getting rewarded for cutting hard to the basket on a PNR.

Speaking of the paint, I held the Wolves to under 15 PIP in the first half, it felt like I could actually play defense down there with the bigs of the Thunder. Steven Adams is just an animal down low. Blocking shots, getting boards, keeping KAT from getting good position, etc. Gorgiu Deng on the other hand, took Ersan Ilyasova to task on the block. I'm still seeing passes get into the paint that shouldn't be, BUT, if you have a big man down low who can play defense, it's definitely possible to hold your own down low. I can only imagine the fun DeAndre Jordan and Hassan Whiteside will bring.

There were definitely some ACE improvements, I'm seeing things that I haven't before. The A.I. will actively sag off an offensive player who's not very good/consistent with the 3 ball. Andrew Wiggins was sagging HARD off Andre Roberson to stay close to Steven Adams in the post once the AI saw KAT having some trouble with him. Would you know, more often than not, Roberson missed his open looks on the kick out passes from the paint?

Speaking of missing shots, my BIGGEST gripe with this game was that the AI would hardly ever miss. NBA players miss a TON of shots during the game on an average night, this was not represented well at all in this game before this patch. I kept the Wolves to 44% shooting on the night, as opposed to my 49%. It was beautiful to FINALLY see your defense being rewarded with missed shots. The AI even missed shots under the basket and when they were wide open! I was in shock. Very happy to report the devs have tuned that aspect of the game.

Fastbreaks seem better, but still not where they should be. I would get a steal with Westbrook, or a rebound and outlet from Adams to Oladipo/Westbrook, and the AI would still be too close. You can feel a difference with a bit more separation, but you still don't get that breakaway slam or 3 on 1 like you should off a quick steal. This has been a legacy issue in 2K for years. Hopefully they can figure out what's causing this. Fast guys just don't feel, "fast" . Not everyone is on a level playing field in terms of speed in the NBA, guys with elite speed has quite the advantage most of the time, that's not represented well in this game.

I'm not seeing any unnecessary double teams. In fact, like I said previously, I'm only seeing double teams when the situation is appropriate and is worth the risk. Overall, I'm definitely satisfied with what this patch has done to the gameplay. I was a bit worried when I read the patch notes, fearful that they hadn't touched much on the gameplay side. Clearly they left out of a few notes because a lot of the community would have lashed out at them if they said, "tuned FG% to lower averages across the board" there would be a riot. I think from a gameplay perspective, we're definitely in a better place.

Now just give us our roster updates so we can hop into our 30 team control My League, and we'll be golden!

Yes, I played on HOF, first possession of the game I catch the ball at the foul line and the CPU immediately doubles me with JJ Reddick leaving Lou Williams wide open to my left. I took a screenshot of it, I hadn't scored or done anything and I'm a post scorer.

I have no idea what they patched in this game, everything is just as broken as before, except for the freethrow timeout glitch in Pro-Am.

I'm so glad they slowed down the gameplay. I hated that super speed crap. Though this will upset people and the next patch will be cracked up again. So I'm going to enjoy this speed while it lasts.

Now I wait for Beluba updated sliders and the roster update. I do like what I saw from the tiny sample I played. Going to the park now to see if that mode will give me high blood pressure.

Don't bother with the park until those sliders hit, moving screens still exist and sharpshooters can still bomb away.
