Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
That definitely wasn't me moving. There's this awful glitch in the game where when a pass is thrown the game takes control of your player so the pass can be caught.
It's happened to me a million and one times and it's been happening since last year.Comment

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
i think the cause in these situations is the bumping into the teammate. not saying it should take away control from you just giving heads up so we can try to avoid it. also bumping into opponent you will lose control of your player momentarilyYour playing checkers, and im playing chess-Comment

there's no grip, no traction to maneuver the quick turns and AI plays you.
total disaster.

2k isnt perfect, but i dont feel the control issue is that bad. I lay off of L2 and most of my issues come from online latency.Last edited by 2_headedmonster; 03-06-2017, 07:01 AM.Comment

Had a week off while on holiday, I had forgot how bad the game tries to control you and how delayed movement is, against AI with perfect reaction times but just horrible playComment

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
Yeah I haven't played this game in about a month
Controls are terrible, along with the CPU comeback cheese
Shame
It was my first 2k game since 2k12, and we all know how bad 2k12 was...
I miss how great 2k11 was, I had some memberable games that I STILL remember till this day on 2k11.
Don't get me wrong this game has flashes of greatness but the movement and the CPU dictating where you go frustrates the hell out of me
Same goes for online play too
I love basketball games but this game makes me so scared to waste my money on 2k18Comment

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
Gotta love when I'm getting back to play transition defense, I'm doing nothing but holding up on the stick to get in position to defend the rim, and an out of control player tries forcing his way to the rim and I get a foul because my guy attempted to steal. And no I didn't press steal, block, or L2.Comment

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
But but but guys....2K said this edition is all about user control and stick skills! LOL
Psychic and telepathic defense has to go. Stop the silly animations. Stop the unrealistic physicality. To many ticky tack fouls especially in the paint. Too many And 1's. Defense non-existent and when you try to play defense you get frozen in position until it's too late and of course the AI makes their shots! AI makes way too many shots (open, contest, whatever).
This game is designed to handicap the user! I can't play man on man without being called for a blocking foul or that silly strip animation (you are only moving L3 and defensive stance) gets called. Give us control like you said! Stick skills doesn't matter! Cheese, cheese, cheese! It's all this AI is. The updates lately haven't made the gameplay better it's much worse! I was having a decent time with this game until the last 2-3 updates. "Hehehe enjoy the game huh? Here's an update to piss you off!" Come on. 2K drop the ball.
This game is arcade-ish as hell and does not represent and I repeat, does not represent NBA basketball!
The AI will continue to do what it wants! Ratings, stats, tendencies, grades do not matter! Seth Curry was locking me down but his defensive grades are D and F. Dwight Powell launching 3s and making them but his open shot 3 is 55 with an F grade with a 35 shot three tendency!
This has to stop! I almost threw this damn game out of my door! Now I have a hot blonde neighbor, so I can't scream at the top of my lungs anymore. I cannot wait until MLB the Show 17 is out! I will not play this POS again!Last edited by Hellquist; 03-07-2017, 08:53 PM.Comment

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
It just make this game not enjoyable when it feels like your barely playing, and getting pulled around by the defense assist even when it's on 0 and bumped so bad it's like it's like playing maddenComment

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
Legit bought a new controller because i thought my left analog was messed. Quicksand, myplayer being sucked into different directions when i'm only pressing UP on the stick. Damn near every problem in this thread happened to me and I went out and copped a new control thinking things would be different.Comment

Re: 2Ks "I know better than the person on the sticks" programming
2k is like that guy who was told to let his little brother play the game, and while their little brother is playing gets agitated that they aren't playing the game 'properly', so they take the controller and start playing it themselves, convinced they are 'showing' their little bro how to play.
2k wants to play 2k soooo bad they take control of your player every other play. There's times I know 2k is triggering a long animation an I legit put the controller down and watch my player take about 5 steps in all sorts of directions, chasing the offensive player or getting bumped by defensive players.
Listen 2k, if I am holding UP, on MY controller, I DO NOT, want to go left, down, or right, no I want to go where I pointed the stick. If I say sprint on the fastbreak and my energy bar is full, I DO NOT WANT to see my player slow down unless he is out of breath, gasping and in desperate need for gatorade.
In NHL a game where they quite literally are on Ice they slide less than NBA 2k17, I have more control on Skates, then I do with Sneakers on hardwood. How?... But hey VC sale!!Comment
